Esther Pitt
Esther V. Pitt died Friday, March 26, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 86.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East, with the Rev. George Glazier officiating.

There will be no visitation at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East, which is in charge of arrangements.

James Pollard James Pollard died Thursday, April 1, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 45.

A graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Nathaniel Carter officiating.

Arrangements are by the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Jimmie Silvers
Jimmie Silvers died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Hubert Smith Hubert Smith died Monday, April 5, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Lois Tittle
Louis Sallie Tittle died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 77.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and was retired from Clowes Ceramics after 32 years there.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Tittle.

Survivors include four stepsons, Homer Tittle, McDonald, Tenn., Charlie and John Tittle, both of Chattanooga, and Jim Tittle, Knoxville; a stepdaughter, Barbara Hastings, Madison, Ind.; sister, Mary Johnson, Chattanooga; and two brothers, Clyde Walston, Chattanooga, and Claude Walston, Rossville.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Ken Trivette officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

Edward Traylor
Edward Traylor died Monday, April 5, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 64.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Howard White
Howard T. White of Harrison died Monday, April 5, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 57.

Mr. White was a native of Franklin, Tenn., and was a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 33 years.

He was retired from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency with 32 1/2 years of service and was a member of Harrison United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Ann White.

Survivors include his wife, Mickey 'Mary' White; two stepchildren, Dennis Allison, Chattanooga, and Pamela Stuart, Harrison; a brother, Bruce C. White, Franklin, Tenn.; one niece and one nephew.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, with the Rev. W. Darryl Ross officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ballard Ball
ATHENS, Tenn. - Ballard Eugene Ball died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in a family residence. He was 81.

Arrangements will be announced by Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens.

Gladys Bradley
JASPER, Tenn. - Gladys V. Bradley died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 85.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Bradley.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Yarworth Jr., Kimball, Tenn., and Clinton D. Braley, South Pittsburg; a daughter, Betty G. Kaminski, Meadville, Pa.; a sister, Jean Sims, Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home in Jasper, with the Rev. Richard Simmons officiating.

Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Charles Brown
DECATUR, Tenn. - Charles O. Brown died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in an area health care facility. He was 78.

He was a Baptist, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the the VFW and AMVETS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. and Henrietta White Brown, and his wife, Gus Miller Brown.

A graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. in Mountain View Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charlie Robertson officiating.

Arrangements are by Bowers Funeral Home.

Wanda Bryan
ETOWAH, Tenn. - Wanda F. Bryan died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 61.

She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred Arnold Parrott.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Bryan; four sons, Ricky C., Mike and Jerry Bryan, all of Etowah, and Carl Bryan, Englewood, Tenn.; a brother, Gerald Parrott, Loveland, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. R.B. Bryan offficiating.

Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Green Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Katherine Davis
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Katherine K. Davis died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 83.

She was one of the oldest living members of Mount Olive Church of God and was the widow of Ira L. Davis.

Survivors include four daughters, Emma Tinsley, Wanda Rominger, Nancy Ogle, all of Cleveland, and Freda Benton, Chattanooga; two sons, Ray Davis, Calhoun, Tenn., and Richard Davis, Cleveland; a sister, Mary Lou Corum, Cleveland; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Sears and the Rev. David Holly officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olive cemetery.

Marilyn Davis
DUCKTOWN, Tenn. - Marilyn 'Ginny' Davis died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in an Atlanta hospital. She was 72.

She was born in Polk County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Robert F. and Frances Wilma Spriggs Passmore.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Davis; a daughter, Jeannine Gray, Fayetteville, Ga.; son, Rob Davis, Phoenix; sister, Montine 'Petie' Hagan, Ducktown; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Connie Mac Bowers and other ministers officiating.

Burial will be in Copper Ridge cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Finch Funeral Home, McCaysville, Ga.

Leona Hagood
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Leona Frances Hagood died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at her home.

She was a native of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland, and came to Cleveland in 1976. She was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church in Polk County.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Hagood; a son, Donald Cross Jr., Cleveland; two daughters, Thoda Radziej, Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada, and Gaye Mattie, Monastery, Nova Scotia; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Sevices will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Welcome Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Darl Gentry and the Rev. Jerrell Fowler officiaitng.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - Ina F. Harris died Monday, April 5, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home, Jasper.

Lillie Haun
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Lillie Mae Gee Haun died Friday, April 2, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 86.

She was a lifelong resident of Bradley County, a graduate of Bradley Central High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Foster, Cleveland; three sons, J.T. Haun, Cleveland, J. Harry Haun, Rossville, Ga., and George Haun, Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Juanita Mulford, New York; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Griffith officiating.

Burial was in New Friendship cemetery.

Thomas King
PALMER, Tenn. - Thomas Preston King died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in a Nashville hospital. He was 82.

Mr. King was a nurseryman and a coal miner.

She was preceded in death by his wife, Stella M. King.

Survivors include a son, Alton W. King, Palmer; three daughters, Sheila Layman, Alene Lies, Palmer, and Evelyn Privett, Whitwell, Tenn.; a brother, J.L. King, Palmer; sisters, Abby and Margie Tate, Gruetli-Laager, Tenn., Louise Stockwell, Palmer, Corine Stockwell and Pauline Sherman, both of Dunlap, and Bonnie Delashmatt, Hixson; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Layne Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Rigsby officiating.

Burial will be in Pope cemetery.

Barbara Keller
CLEVELAND, Tenn. Barbara Stuman Keller, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 61.

She was the daughter of the late Avery A. and Willie L. Hysinger Stuman, and the sister of the late Sonny Stuman. She was a member of Bancroft Church of God.

Survivors include two daughters, Regina W. Collins and Donita Singleton, both of Cleveland; and five grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. William Curtis and the Rev. Beecher White officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
