DECATUR, Tenn. - Ivan Moore died Monday, April 5, 1999, in an area nursing home. He was 95.

Arrangements will be announced by M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.

Nora Morris
VONORE, Tenn. - Nora Mae Smalling Morris died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in a Knoxville hospital. She was 82.

She was a native of Monroe County, Tenn., and a member of North Englewood Baptist Church. She was the widow of R.L. Morris.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.

Burial will be today at 11 a.m. in Big Toqua cemetery in Vonore.

Bill Murray
SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - Bill Murray died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 69.

He was a native of South Pittsburg and a former employee of J.I. Brown Tree Expert Co.

Survivors include his wife, Marie McBee Murray; two sons, Billy D. Murray, East Ridge, and Dallas G. Murray, South Pittsburg; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. CDT at Rogers Funeral Home, South Pittsburg, with the Rev. Darrell Nunley officiating.

Burial will be in Tate cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hillary Ramsey
MORRISTOWN, Tenn. - Hillary Robinette Ramsey, a retired employee of Farmers Home Administration and founder of Quiet Meadows Dairy Farm in Limestone, Tenn., died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 87.

Services will be today at 8 p.m. at Mayes Mortuary in Morristown with the Rev. Eddie Rasnake officiating.

A graveside service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Jarnagin cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Simpson CLEVELAND, Tenn. - James Simpson of Cleveland, Tenn., formerly of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 52.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Edith Privette
KNOXVILLE - Edith Devonia Privette died Thursday, April 1, 1999, in a Soddy-Daisy health care facility. She was 90.

Mrs. Privette was the oldest member of City View Baptist Church in Knoxville.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jack 'Evelyn' Bannister, Chattanooga, and Mrs. Wiley 'Mildred' Allmon, Knoxville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 5 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Mooney and the Rev. Laura Trent officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3210 Social Circle, Chattanooga, TN 37415.

Nellie Allen
Nellie Allen died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 88.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Virginia Buchanan Virginia Buchanan died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 47.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Gary Dean
Gary Lamar Dean died Monday, April 5, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 46.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Marvin Fowler officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marshall DeLong
Marshall T. DeLong Jr. died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at his Signal Mountain home. He was 87.

The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in the Golden Gateway with the Rev. H. Hunter Huckabay officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, West.

Michael Germany
Michael Germany of Hixson died Monday, April 5, 1999, in an area hospital as a result of an accident. He was 21.

He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, an employee of Rock-Tenn. and a member of James Street Church of God.

Survivors include his parents, Joel and Sherry Germany; two sisters, Tiffani and Ashley Germany; grandparents, Lee and Daisy Germany and Fred and Audice Merciers, all of Chattanooga; and great-grandparents, Lillian Kirkland, Scottsboro, Ala., and Dean and Vonnie Germany, Dutton, Ala.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Lawrence Bradford and the Rev. Don Stephens officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

Visitation will be today after 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Martin Gross
Martin Gross died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 82.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Charles Arms officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Thelma Hutcheson
Thelma VanEvery Hutcheson, formerly of Chattanooga, died Friday, April 2, 1999, in Danville, Va. She was 91.

A graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. G. Everett Gossett officiating.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North.

Lonnie Jenkins
Lonnie Mae Jenkins died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at her home. She was 70.

The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with Gerald Taylor Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Marion Johnson
Marion Johnson died Friday, April 2, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 97.

She retired from the Chattanooga Public Schools and was a longtime member of Wiley Memorial Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Iris Johnson and Anita Green; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Daniels officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Floyd Long
Floyd 'Jabo' Long of Ooltewah died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at his home. He was 86.

Mr. Long had lived in Knoxville for 12 years before moving to Ooltewah in 1959. He was retired from Alton Box Board Co. and was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie M. Long, and a daughter, JoAnn Pell.

Survivors include his son, the Rev. F. Leon Long, Harriman; two brothers, Jesse Long, Knoxville, and George Long, Chattanooga; two sisters, Louise Johnson, Flintstone, Ga., and Evelyn Duke, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East, with the Rev. F. Leon Long officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chatanooga Funeral Home.

George Moore
George Matthew Moore of East Ridge died Monday, April 5, 1999, at his home. He was 67.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Ronald Ingram officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Mary Neal
Mary J. Neal died Monday, April 5, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 79.

She was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Women's Air Corps.

She retired from First Federal Bank after 39 years of service and was a member of McFarland United Methodist Church and the Anchor Sunday School Class.

She also was a member of the Better Housing Commission, the Altrusa Club, and had served on the board of the Opportunity Home for Girls.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, William and Agnew Neal.

Survivors include a brother, Robert T. Neal, Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at McFarland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Laura Jean Myers-Ross officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity or to the McFarland United Methodist Church Computer Fund, 101 E. Gordon Ave., Rossville, GA 30741.
