Thomas Harris
Thomas Franklin Harris died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at his home. He was 77.
He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, a member of Hixson Church of Christ and a former member and elder of Northside Church of Christ.
He was retired from Colonial Bakery Co. after 35 years and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Moss Harris; two sons, T. Jerry Harris, Birmingham, and Charles Quinten Harris, Chattanooga; two sisters, Maude Thomas, Chattanooga, and Geneva Cunningham, Petersburg, Va.; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with minister Joe Cade and elder Bob McGrath officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until noon and 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marion Johnson
Marion Johnson died Friday, April 2, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 97.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Daniels officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Peace and Goodwill Church.
Survivors include one sister, Gracie Tuggle; three brothers, William, Ralph, and James Tuggle; nieces and nephews.

Royal Ben Vassey, owner of Vassey's Mens and Ladies Apparel in Rossville, Ga., died Monday, April 5, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 80.

Ethel Mae Vickery died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a member of South Seminole Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebecca Sunday School Class and she taught Sunday School in the preschool department.
She was the widow of Theodore H. Vickery Sr.
Survivors include one son, Ted H. Vickery Jr., Chattanooga; one brother, Kenneth Thompson, Nashville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Perry officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Robert Williams
Robert Scholze Williams, former president of Southern Saddlery Co. and the oldest local graduate of Baylor School, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999. He was 96.
A memorial service will be held today at noon at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal, with the Rev. John T. Talbird officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the parish hall at the church.

Lola Williamson
Lola Troutman Williamson of Indiantown, Fla., died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at her home on Williamson Cattle Ranch. She was 95.
The former Chattanooga resident was a member of Indiantown First Baptist Church and the widow of H.C. 'Bill' Williamson.
Survivors include one son, Jack H. Williamson, Okeechobee, Fla.; one daughter, Dianne W. Tanner, Indiantown; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Woolridge officiating.
Burial will be in Welch-Rogers cemetery.

Ruth Yancey
Ruth H. Yancey died Monday, April 5, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 75.
She was a member of St. James AME Church where she served as president of the Missionary Society and vice president of the stewardess board.
She worked as a substitute teacher with the city school system and was a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Lee Yancey Sr.; four children, Eddie Lee Yancey Jr., Gloria J. Noble, Randolph Yancey and Ronald Brown, Detroit; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. James AME Church with the Rev. Johnny Watson Sr. officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Emma Heins
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Emma Muller Heins died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Chattanooga. She was 84.
She grew up at Redlands Farm in Blythewood, S.C., and graduated from Blythewood High School. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and taught high school in Barnwell and Ridgeway. She was also a substitute teacher in the Columbia schools for many years.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Blythewood and a Girl Scout volunteer.
She was the widow of Arthur Boerner Heins Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Emma Heins Corley, Chapel Hill, N.C., Rosborough Heins Peerson, Signal Mountain, and Yancey Heins O'Kelley, Beaufort, S.C.; one brother, Fred Muller; five sisters, Laura Thomas, Rachel Kempson, Lucy Smith, Ruth Law and Willie Unkfer; and six grandsons.
Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. at Aimwell Presbyterian cemetery in Ridgeway, S.C., with the Rev. Donald Woolly officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Highway 21, Blythewood, SC 29016, or to the Carolina Children's Home, 3201 Tranholm Road, Columbia, SC 29204.

TEN MILE - Carl R. 'Peanut' Bryant died Sunday, May 9, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 70.
He was a member of Watts Bar Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Bryant; two sons, David Bryant, Decatur, Tenn., and Ronnie Bryant, Georgetown, Tenn.; two daughters, Pam Simmons, Cleveland, Tenn., and Cathy Smith, Spring City, Tenn.; a brother, Neil Bryant, Maryville, Tenn.; three sisters, Alice Davidson, Maryville, Gwendolyn Boring, Alcoa, Tenn., and Nolene Hayes, Hot Springs, Ark.
Services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Watts War Church of God with the Rev. Kenneth Goins, the Rev. Chris Pugh and others officiating.
Burial will be in Ten Mile cemetery.
