Ralph P. Thomas died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in a local nursing home.

Arrangements will be announced by the Trammell Chapel of Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home.

Carrie Thompson
Carrie Ann Noebel Thompson of East Brainerd died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at her home. She was 40.

She was a daughter of the late Kurte and Mary E. Noebel and was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Louis A. Thompson; daughter, Sunshine Hampton, Chattanooga; two sons, Joshua and Levi Hampton, both of Kensington, Ga.; brother, Michael Noebel, Chickamauga, Ga.; four sisters, Pam Tucker, Calhoun, Ga., Vicki Williams and Mary Greene, both of Rossville, Ga., and Kim Johnson, Ringgold, Ga.; and one grandson.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Davis officiating.

Burial will be in LaFayette Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be today after 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lois Tobey
Lois H. Tobey died Monday, April 12, 1999, at her home. She was 67.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Tyner United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Ray and the Rev. Charles Arms officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Walter Turner
Walter Turner died Monday, April 12, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 12.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

James West
James R. 'Buster' West died Thursday, April 15, 1999, in a V.A. hospital in Washington. He was 66.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Obie Whitaker
Obie Whitaker died Saturday, April 10, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 60.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Otis Whitaker.

Survivors include two sisters, Enora Whitaker and Ola Mae Whitaker; one brother, Gary Whitaker; an aunt, nieces and nephews.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at the Central Avenue Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Cofer cemetery.

T. Howard White
T. Howard White of Harrison died Monday, April 5, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 57.

The Franklin, Tenn., native had been a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 33 years. He was retired from the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency with 32 1/2 years of service and was a member of Harrison United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Ann White.

Survivors include his wife, Mickey 'Mary' White; two stepchildren, Dennis Allison, Chattanooga, and Pamela Stuart, Harrison; a brother, Bruce C. White, Franklin, Tenn., three grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.

Services were April 7 at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, with the Rev. W. Darryl Ross officiating.

Burial was in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Mattie Whitlow
Mattie Whitlow died Monday, April 12, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 85.

Survivors include a brother, Leon Abernathy; three sisters, Juanita Polk, Chattanooga, Pauline Carpenter, Jackson, Ala., and Geneva Bolton, Anniston, Ala.

Services will be Saturday at noon at New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Allen officiating.

Burial will be in Floral Hills cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Anna Barnette
Anna Lee Riddle Barnette died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 78.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Lindsey officiating.

Burial will be in Plowman cemetery.

Rufus Benning
Rufus Benning Sr. died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 82.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Ruth Bolton
Ruth Lena Bolton of Red Bank died Monday, April 12, 1999.

Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, with the Rev. Harold Buck and the Rev. Mike Hubble officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Red Bank United Methodist Church, 3800 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, TN 37415, or the Red Bank Lioness Club.

Annette Bonner
Annette 'Mickey' Bonner died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at her home. She was 42.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Temple of Faith Church of God in Christ with elder Willie Jefferson officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood East cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Tom Bowen
Lavens Thomas 'Tom' Bowen, retired president of Bowen Supply Inc., died Sunday, April 11, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 66.

A graveside service will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Ragon officiating.

A memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Brainerd Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Brainerd Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Katherine Browning
Katherine Browning, a teacher retired from the Chattanooga Public Schools, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Hickory Valley Retirement Center. She was 92.

A graveside service will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. David Harr officiating.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, East. No visitation will be held there.

Richard Doss
Richard Neely Doss died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 73.

The Texas native was retired from Holsum Bakery.

Survivors include his wife, Elisabeth Muller Doss; one son, Richard Doss, Gadsden, Ala.; three daughters, Rhonda Smith, Chatsworth, Ga., Ellen Doss, Hawaii, and Pam Duckett, Soddy-Daisy; two stepdaughters, Henny Schoenfeld, Ringgold, Ga., and Mary Ann Hall, Nashville; six stepsons, Richard Schoenfeld, Knoxville, Herbert and Paul Schoenfeld, both of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Carl Schoenfeld, Nashville, Fred Shoenfeld, Ringgold, and Joe Schoenfeld, Chattanooga; a sister, Jessie Mae Manis, Piedmont, Ala.; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Ike Keay officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sarah Manning Doss died Monday, April 12, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 89.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Martin officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Lucille J. Dossett died Friday, April 9, 1999, at a local health care facility. She was 92.

Jack Gordon Hopkins died Monday, April 12, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 83.

A graveside service will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Waco (Texas) Memorial Park.

There will be no local visitation.

Betty Jenkins
Betty W. Jenkins of Hixson died Monday, April 12, 1999, in Silver Springs, Fla.

A memorial service will be announced by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
