Faith Lennon
Faith B. Lennon died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 87.

Graveside services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park with Dr. J.R. Faulkner officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by West Chapel, Chattanooga Funeral Home.

William McCroskey
William Henry McCroskey died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 86.

He was born in Madisonville, Tenn., and grew up in Knoxville. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and was employed by the TVA as a civil engineer for his entire career.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a chief petty officer in both the European and Pacific Theaters.

He was active in the Chattanooga Engineers Club and the Boy Scouts, and a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Anne; four sons, William T. McCroskey, William H. McCroskey, Joseph J. McCroskey and Sam H. McCroskey; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Forest Hills cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Barth Room of Grace Episcopal Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Ruby Moody
Ruby R. Moody died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 85.

A graveside service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Bert Jones officiating.

Arrangements are by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Rhelma Moore
Rhelma Moore of Rossville died Monday, March 8, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 78.

She was a longtime resident of the North Georgia area and a Baptist.

She was widowed by both James Debter and Verbon Moore.

Survivors include one daughter, Syble Debter Nabors, Rossville; one brother, Leo Grimes, Rainsville, Ala.; two sisters, Thelma Bryson, Sylvania, Ala., and Inez Butler, Scottsboro, Ala.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken McCoy officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.

Vivian Ostrum
Vivian L. Ostrum of Soddy-Daisy died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 55.

Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Aaron Simmons officiating.

Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy.

Fay Perkinson
Fay Ross Perkinson of East Ridge died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 90.

She was a native and longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, a member of First Calvary Baptist Church for more than 70 years, and a Gold Star Mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley E. Perkinson, and a son, Richard B. Dickson.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Wimpee, East Ridge, and Mary Alice Scruggs, Houston, Texas; one sister, Callie Lee Friddell, Chattanooga; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Royce Powell officiating.

There will be no visitation at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.

Bernice Peterson
Bernice H. Peterson of Detroit died Wednesday, March 3, 1999.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Elmer Porter
Elmer Dale Porter died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 58.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bobby Atkins and the Rev. Tony Walliser officiating.

Burial will be at Silverdale cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Silverdale Baptist Church Building Fund, 7236 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Luther Reed
Luther A. Reed died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at his home. He was 60.

Services will be held today at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with pastor David Hakes officiating.

Burial will be in Plowman cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nell Shuford
Nell P. Shuford, a resident of St. Barnabas Apartments for 10 years, died Monday, March 8, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 86.

She was a native of North Carolina and the widow of Jacob P. Shuford.

Survivors include one daughter, Pat Stewart, Lookout Mountain, Ga.; one sister, Edna Mae Proctor, Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Jim, Bill, and Jack Proctor, all of Charlotte; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Barnabas Apartments with the Rev. Kuuli Green officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Barnabas Apartments or a favorite charity.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Donna Sims
Donna Marie Sims died Friday, March 5, 1999, at her home. She was 42.

She was employed by Erlanger Medical Center in the central sterile service department.

She was the daughter of the late Rev. Fred Wesley, and the mother of the late Michelle Sims.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Sims, Chattanooga; two sons, JaMichael Perryman, Florence, Ky., and Michael Allen Sims, Chattanooga; her mother, Mary Jo Wesley, Chattanooga; four brothers, Phillip Welsey, San Antonio, Charles Wesley and Danny Wesley, Chattanooga, and Clarence Wesley, Jacksonville, N.C.; two sisters, Mary J. Smith, Baltimore, and Deloris Upshaw, Atlanta; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Caldwell and the Rev. Jimmie Ingram officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The body will be at the funeral home after noon today until the time of service on Wednesday.

Bert Siniard
Hubert O. 'Bert' Siniard Sr. of Harrison died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 67.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at East Chapel, Chattanooga Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Dean officiating.

Burial will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edith VanArsdale
Edith Hembree VanArsdale died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 91.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at East Chapel, Chattanooga Funeral Home, with Dr. Dwayne Cole officiating.

Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Roy Vance
Roy D. 'Dick' Vance of Signal Mountain died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 86.

Arrangements are incomplete and a memorial service will be announced at a later date by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Shelly Vandiver
Britteni Jo Michelle 'Shelly' Fanjoy Vandiver died Friday, March 5, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 21.

A memorial service will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Reece Fauchett officiating.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Norman Walker
Norman Walker of Soddy-Daisy died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at his home. He was 62.

A native of Floyd County, Ky., he was retired from quality control at Stone and Webster Engineering Corp.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Walker; five children, Tim and Sherry Walker, both of Kentucky, Todd Gooslin, East Ridge, Kathy Ross, Baton Rouge, La., and Tony Lynskey, Ooltewah; two sisters, Shelia Walker, Florida, and Judy Thompson, Portsmouth, Ohio.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Germaine Walters
Germaine Walters of Hixson died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 86.

Arrangements will be announced by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Roberta Webb
Roberta J. Webb of Hixson died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at her home. She was 85.

She was a member of Dividing Ridge Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Doc Webb; three sisters, Inez Owens and Marie Walker, Chattanooga, and Irene Bailey, Ringgold, Ga.; and one brother, Stanley Jones.

A graveside service will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Darlah West
Darlah Ann West of Fort Oglethorpe died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at her home. She was 53.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe with the Rev. Richard Byers officiating.

Burial will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends today prior to the service.
