Earl Tullis
FLAT ROCK, Ala. - Earl Tullis died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 84.

He was retired from Chattanooga Glass Co., was a farmer and a Baptist.

He was the father of the late Ervalene Tullis.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Tullis; one daughter, Martha Gass, one son, Johnny Wayne Tullis, all of Flat Rock; one sister, Viona Mason, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one brother, Henry Erskin Tullis, Chattanooga; and four grandchildren.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. EST at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Ellison and O.A. Bethune officiating.

Burial will be in Deer Heads Cove cemetery.

The family will receive friends today after 1 p.m. EST.

Everett Upton
SWEETWATER, Tenn. - Everett Upton Sr. died Monday, March 1, 1999, at his home. He was 87.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Kyker Funeral Home with the Rev,. Lloyd Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Monroe Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles Wilson
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Charles Ed Wilson died Friday, March 5, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 69.

He worked for Bishop Baking Co.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Anthony; one stepdaughter, Lela Casson; one son, Wayne Wilson; one stepson, Gary Shuler; one sister, Jewell Odom; three brothers, Boyd, Earl and Bedford Wilson, three grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Gregg officiating.

Burial will be in Fort Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be today and Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles Wyatt
PIKEVILLE, Tenn. - Charles 'Pig' Wyatt died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 47.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. CST at West End Church of God with the Rev. Danny Lee and the Rev. Derek Forgey officiating.

Burial will be in Seals cemetery.

Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Pikeville.

Leo Jones
Leo Jones died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Fletcher Kibler
Fletcher Leon Kibler died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in a local life care facility. He was 94.

He worked for United Hosiery Mill for 22 years, then with Morningside Chemical for 29 years as a partner and owner.

He was a member of the Chattanooga Downtown Rotary Club, Chattanooga Golf and Country Club and First-Centenary United Methodist Church and its Foster Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Leete Parker Kibler.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in Forest Hills cemetery with Dr. Albert J. Bowles officiating.

There will be no visitation at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.

James Kitts
James A. Kitts of Harrison died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at his home. He was 70.

Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bob Stitts officiating.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fort Wood Place, Chattanooga, TN 37405.

Elizabeth Lackey
Elizabeth Robinson Lackey of Red Bank died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in a local nursing home.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Buck officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Jeremy Layne
Jeremy Ryan Layne of Chattanooga, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at his home. He was 19.

Formerly of Palmer, Tenn., he was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chattanooga and was employed by Stowers Machine Corp.

He was the grandson of the late Francis H. and Johnnie Ruth Meeks.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Lisa and Michael Duncan, Chattanooga; father and stepmother, Jimmy and Cynthia Meeks, Ooltewah, Tenn.; three sisters, Brandy Nance, Jasper, Tenn., and Jayme and Dana Meeks, Ooltewah; grandparents, Alpha Gay and Gene Cleek, and Danny and Janie Layne; great-grandparents, Ernest and Hazel Dishroom, Palmer, Tenn., and Hazel Layne, Dunlap, Tenn.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. CST at Layne Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating.

Burial will be in Palmer City cemetery.

Visitation will be today after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Make a Wish Foundation.

Katherine Lyman
Katherine Ritter Lyman died Tuesday, March 2, 1999. She was 94.

Services will be Saturday at Lemmon Funeral Home in Baltimore.

Burial will be in Druid Ridge cemetery.

There will be no visitation at Wann Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce Mainz
Joyce Wingate Mainz of Chattanooga died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in Panama City, Fla. She was 59.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 7, at 3 p.m. at Rivermont Presbyterian Church with Dr. Dan Sansbury officiating.

Visitation will be immediately after the service.

Samuel McClure
Samuel Joshua McClure, infant son of Samuel Jason McClure and Laura Ann King McClure of Rossville, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999.

He was the great-grandson of the late Anna Cleghorn.

Other survivors include his sister, Rachel Ann McClure, Rossville; grandparents, Samuel and Deborah McClure, Benton, Tenn., Nolen and Martha King, Boynton; great-grandparents, Samuel and Alma McClure, Cohutta, Ga., Nellie Ruth McClure, Tunnel Hill, Leslie and Mary Ann Skipper, Hopeville, N.C., Charles Clamenston, Athens, Tenn.; and Nolen and Martha King, and Troy and Rebecca Cleghorn, Boynton.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with the Rev. David McNabb officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.

Lillie Morton
Lillie Green Morton died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 82.

Survivors include one son, Edward E. Harrison Sr.; Chattanooga; three sisters, Ruth Perry and Bernice Calhoun, Chattanooga; and Sylvia Jennings, Washington; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Greater New Home Baptist Church with elder G.M. Spotts officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after noon today at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Semon Neely
Semon Neely died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at his home. He was 77.

Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with brother Larry Stuart officiating.

Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Sallie Pinion
Sallie Walden Pinion of Chattanooga Valley died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at her home. She was 93.

The Chattanooga native was a homemaker and the widow of Jess McCoy Pinion.

Survivors include two daughters, Jessie L. Douglass, Lookout Mountain, Ga., and Mary E. Whitefield, Nashville; one son, Poe Pinion, Chickamauga, Ga.; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Wann Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Hitchings officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret Posey
Margaret Arlene 'Lene' Posey of Soddy-Daisy died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 56.

Arrangements will be announced by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.

Robert Short
Robert Wayne Short died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 45.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Yvonne Thomison
Yvonne Thomison died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in a local hospital.

Services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with minister Jim Suddath officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to 'Changed Lives,' P.O. Box 100, Chattanooga, TN 37401.

Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
