Retta Benson
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Retta Harvey Benson died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 81.

Her parents were the late Bessie Wallace and Powell Harvey. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Harvey and a brother, Powell Harvey Jr.

A graveside service will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Hays Shed cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home.

Mary Bettis
SWEETWATER, Tenn. - Mary Katherine Bettis of Philadelphia, Tenn., died Tuesday, March 16, 1999. She was 81.

She was a member of High Ridge Baptist Church. She was widowed by both Alex Nipper and Tom Bettis, and was preceded in death by a son, Willard Lee Nipper.

Survivors include two sons, Caney and Larry Nipper, Kingston, Tenn.; three sisters, Eula Galliher and Christine Matthews, Sweetwater, and Zola Ervin, Madisonville, Tenn.; three brothers, Milus Raley, Florida, Carl Raley, Maryville, Tenn., and Ralph Raley, Sweetwater.

Services will be today at 8 p.m. at Kyker Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Grigsby officiating.

Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Paint Rock cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carl Bradford
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Carl 'Tooty' Bradford died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 55.

Mr. Bradford was a son of the late Willie and Essie Ghorley Bradford and was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Freddie Bradford.

He was a truck driver most of his life and attended Union Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Audrie Bradford; a son, Carl F. Bradford Jr., Ringgold, Ga.; stepson, B.D. 'Porky' Herring, Walker, La.; daughter, Cynthia Dianne Bradford, Ringgold; five stepdaughters, Boydrea Gonzales, Sheryll Rogers, and Jerry Johnson, all of Baton Rouge, La., Sherry Poirrier, Denham Springs, La., Jeri Smith and Vanessa Mack, Cleveland; four brothers, Leon Bradford, Charleston, Tenn., Harley Bradford, Ooltewah, Claude Bradford, Delano, Tenn., and Neil Bradford, Wartsburg, Tenn.; five sisters, Ruby Harbison, Nora Black and Christine Hicks, all of Benton, Betty Fox, Etowah, and Evelyn Couch, Wisconsin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Margie Minton and Dr. Carl Hobbs officiating.

Burial will be in Moores Chapel cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m.

William Burns
GEORGETOWN, Tenn. - William Roscoe Burns died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 52.

He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Irene McCormick Burns and a sister, Ruby Bradshaw.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Burns; one daughter, Donna Burns, Cleveland, one son, Mitchell Cathey, Cohutta, Ga.; six brothers, Carl and Joe Burns, Byhalia, Miss., James and Thomas Burns, Calhoun, Tenn., and Elmer and Bill Burns, Cleveland, Tenn.

Services will be today at 10 a.m. at the North Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Cross officiating.

Billie Forrester
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Billie Jean Forrester died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 69.

A graveside service will be held today at 3 p.m. at LeFoy Family cemetery in Decatur, Tenn., with Mark Grissom officiating.

Arrangements are by Grissom Funeral Home.

Delia Guinn
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Delia Lillian Guinn died Monday, March 15, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 71.

A graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. in Fort Hill cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Millsaps officiating.

Arrangements are by the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home.

John Hall
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - John Birch Hall died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 79.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Thomas Hembree
TRACY CITY, Tenn. - Thomas Dewey Hembree died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in a health care facility there. He was 56.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 20, at 10 a.m. at Foster & Sons Funeral Home, Tracy City, with the Rev. David Archibald officiating.

Visitation will be held immediately after the service at Father Adamz Memorial Parish House in Tracy City.

Johnny Hickman DAYTON, Tenn. - Johnny Ray Hickman died Monday, March 15, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 68.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald and others officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery.

John Kendrick
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - John David Kendrick died Monday, March 15, 1999, in a local nursing home. He was 88.

Mr. Kendrick was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland and an active member of the Senior Adult III Sunday school class. He was retired from Barwick Carpet Mills and was a member of the Masonic Order.

Survivors include a son, Herbert D. Kendrick, Fort Oglethorpe; daughter, Shirley Clay, Tucker, Ga.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. George Pinion officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Eulah McNabb
SEQUATCHIE, Tenn. - Eula B. McNabb died Monday, March 15, 1999. She was 88.

She was a Baptist and was the widow of Ryan G. McNabb.

Survivors include a son, John M. McNabb, Colllegedale; two daughters, Reba Carothers, Ooltewah, and Willie Maude Wyrick, Brownsville, Texas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service was Wednesday in Lasater cemetery with minister Virgil Thomas officiating.

Arrangements were made by Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home, Jasper, Tenn.

Monika Meadows
DAYTON, Tenn. - Monika Denise Meadows died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 33.

Arrangements will be announced by Martin Funeral Home of LaFollette, Tenn.

This announcement is made by Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home, Dayton.

Warren Pirkle CLEVELAND, Tenn. Warren Bullard 'Barney' Pirkle died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 78.

A Masonic memorial service will be held today at 8 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before the service.

Buell Roberts
WHITWELL, Tenn. - Buell O. Roberts died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at his home. He was 93.

He was a Methodist, a retired farmer and coal miner and was a member of the United Mine Workers.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Roberts; five daughters, Jean Goins, Judy McDowell, Linda Long, Joy Downum, all of Whitwell, and Martha Austin, Dunlap, Tenn.; five sons, Bill, Jim, Kay, and Randy Roberts, all of Whitwell, and Joe Roberts, Huntsville.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. CST at Hooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Lassiter officiating.

Burial will be in Teague cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the builiding fund of the United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 159, Whitwell, TN 37379.

Wanda Roberts
DUNLAP, Tenn. - Wanda Ruth Roberts died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at her home. She was 58.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. CST at Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Lykins officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Park in Soddy-Daisy.

Molly Roddy
DAYTON, Tenn. - Molly Ellen Roddy died Monday, March 15, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 87.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Purser officiating.

Burial will be in Buttram cemetery.

Melvin Seto
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Melvin Roy Seto died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 63.

Mr. Seto was an employee of Leggett & Platt of Cleveland and a member of Waterville Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Frank and Bertha Cronan Seto.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Clowers Seto, Cleveland; three daughters, Karen Sue Combs, Chattanooga, Kathy Wright, Cleveland, and Connie Pittman, Rossville; a sister, Aznef Green, Benton; brother, J.D. Seto, Oak Ridge; and four grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edna Walker
BENTON, Tenn. - Edna L. Walker died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at her home. She was 67.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral home with the Rev. Ray Cheatham officiating.

Burial will be in Charleston cemetery.

Bessie West
WHITWELL, Tenn. - Bessie L. Morrison West died Wednesday, March 17, 1999. She was 87.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim West; and two sons, J.B. Mosier and Fain Mosier.

Survivors include a brother, Oscar Morrison, Whitwell; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home in Jasper, Tenn.

Burial will be in Sardis cemetery.
