SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - John Dale Rector died Thursday, March 18, 1999. He was 47.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Case officiating.

Burial will be in Bennne-Raulston cemetery.

Louis Reed
GRANDVIEW, Tenn. - Louis Reed died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 84.

He retired from Southern Silk Mill, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Alloway Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Miller Reed, Grandview; one son, David Reed, Goldsboro, N.C.; three daughters, Bobbie Baker, Grandview, Norma Harris, Spring City, and Rita Dunn, Evensville, Tenn.; one brother, Wayne Reed, Grandview; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Stacey Harris and the Rev. David Phipps officiating.

Burial will be in Spring City Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and all day Sunday at the funeral home.

Chasity Sanders
GRUETLI-LAAGER, Tenn. - Chasity LaChay Sanders died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in an area hospital.

Survivors include her parents, Tiffney D. Finch and Eric T. Sanders; sister Shelby Finch, all of Gruetli-Laager; grandparents, Joseph and Shirley Sanders, Tracy City, Tenn.; Linda Finch, Palmer, Tenn., and Jimmy Finch, Altamont, Tenn.; great-grandparents, Louise Cunningham, Tracy City; Howard Wideman, Palmer, Eloise King, Gruetli-Laager and Charles Finch, Nashville.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Layne Funeral Home with Ricky Hawkins officiating.

Burial will be in Coalmont cemetery.

Herbert Sholl
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Herbert L. Sholl of South Hampton, Maine, and formerly of Cleveland, died Friday, March 19, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 63.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a retired engineer, a member of West Springfield Church of Christ and attended Union Grove Church of Christ while in Cleveland.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Goode Sholl, South Hampton; four children and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at a later date in South Hampton.

Raymond Waddell
TRENTON, Ga. - Raymond H. Waddell of the Slygo community died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 79.

He was a Methodist and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna Hamlin Waddell; one daughter Wanda W. Harris, Wildwood, Ga.; one brother, Carl Waddell, Trenton, and a granddaughter.

Graveside services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. EST at Sarah's Chapel cemetery with the Rev. Frank Perry officiating.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton.

Della Wade
ATHENS, Tenn. - Della Mae Monroe Wade died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 75.

A native and longtime resident of McMinn County, she had retired from North City School where she was employed as the cafeteria manager.

She was the widow of Edgar E. Wade, and was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church and Parkway Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia A. Lee, Madisonville, Tenn., and Teresa D. Spencer, Alcoa, Tenn.; two sisters, Arula McDonald, and Eva Lingerfelt, Athens; one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Friday at Ziegler Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. in Clearwater cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Bryant officiating.

Lewis Willis
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Dr. Lewis J. Willis died Thursday, March 18, 1999.

He was employed as the assistant editor of Church of God Publications and was a member of North Cleveland Church of God where he taught the Unity class.

He was a licensed and ordained minister with the Church of God for over 50 years. He was an active member of many civic organizations and received numerous awards for his community involvement.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Willis; daughter, Melanie D. Willis; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Cleveland Church of God.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Grissom Funeral Home.

Wendell Woodall
DECHERD, Tenn. - Wendell Woodall died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 70.

Services will be today at 10 a.m. CST at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Mount Garner cemetery in Decherd.

Joyce Wyatt
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Joyce Callie Bridges 'Nannie' Wyatt died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at her home. She was 74.

Survivors include her husband, James 'Bob' Wyatt; two daughters, Vivian Crump and Austeen Allen, Dalton; one son, Jerry Hughes, Dalton; four sisters, Betty Rose, Charlene Griggs, Lois Hughes, and Mary Brackett, all of Blairsville, Ga.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren and step-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Manley officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Moriah Church cemetery in Murray County.

George Berry
TRACY CITY, Tenn. - George W. 'Bubba' Berry Jr. died Friday, March 19, 1999, at his home. He was 52.

He was a retired truck driver.

He was preceded in death by a wife, Louise Berry; father, George Berry Sr., and his brother, Wayne Berry.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Berry; two sons, Danny and Charles Berry; stepson, John Dishroon; mother, Dorotha Berry, all of Tracy City; three sisters, Brenda Harrison, Monteagle, Tenn., Darlene Shope, Ringgold, Ga., and Johnnie Manley, Tracy City.

Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial cemetery.

Lela Cantrell
TRACY CITY, Tenn. - Lela Cantrell died Friday, March 19, 1999, in a Sewanee, Tenn. hospital. She was 82.

Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home in Tracy City with Elder Franklin Hill officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview cemetery.

Charles Cleek
PALMER, Tenn. - Charles C. Cleek died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at his home. He was 72.

He was a United States Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Don Cleek.

Survivors include his wife, Venova Cleek; four daughters, Beverly Kalmes, Albuquerque, N.M., Cookie Anderson, Sherry King and Rocky Williams, all of Palmer; one son, Randy Cleek, Palmer; two brothers, Gene and Bill Cleek, Gruetli-Laager, Tenn.; three sisters, Kennetha Suter, Covington, Ga., and Olean Hart and Shelva Lewis, both of Palmer; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Layne Funeral Home in Palmer with the Rev. John Potts officiating.

Burial will be at Palmer City cemetery.

Fred Crisp
DECATUR, Tenn. - Fred Crisp died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at his home. He was 89.

He was a native of Steacoah, N.C. and a former employee of T.N.T. Bowater and Decatur Industries.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lennia Crisp; one son, Carolyn Bowman; and one son, Kenneth Crisp.

Survivors include one son, Daniel Crisp, Decatur; four daughters, Helen Clark and Lois Campbell, both of Chattanooga, Hazel Cleek, Laager, Tenn. and Iva Oliver, Decatur; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, Tenn. with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.

Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elmer Dalton
PEORIA, Ill. - Elmer 'Chenk' Dalton, formerly of Rosalie, Ala., died here Monday, March 15, 1999. He was 65.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. CST at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Benji Young officiating.

Burial will be at New Canaan cemetery in Rainsville, Ala.

Clyde Gunter
MORRISON, Tenn. - Clyde Gunter died Saturday, March 20, 1999, in a Warren County, Tenn. hospital. He was 66.

He was a retired farmer and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Gunter, Morrison; three daughters, Brenda Upton and Viola Kelly, both of Morrison, and Mary Morton, Smyrna, Ga.; four sons, Tommy and Clyde Gunter, Morrison, Johnny Gunter, Grundy County, and Miles Gunter, McMinnville, Tenn.; four sisters, Gladys Graham, Jackboro, Tenn., Carlin Pence, Bonnie Cantrell and Nyoka Gunter, all of McMinnville; two brothers, Levoy Gunter, Centertown, Tenn., and Floyd Gunter, McMinnville; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A military service by VFW post 5064 and American Legion 173 will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Love-Cantrell and Cope Funeral Home with Dean Northcutt officiating.

Burial will be in Garden of Memory.

Visitation will be today at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
