Marion Haynes
Marion 'M.T.' Haynes died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 77.

Mr. Haynes was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Marine Corps, and was a Baptist.

He retired from the TNT plant after 37 years there.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene P. Haynes; a daughter, Linda Cagle, Harrison; five sons, Richard, Gary, Michael and Marion Haynes, all of Chattanooga, and Jeffrey Haynes, Warner Robins, Ga.; two brothers, Albert Haynes, Soddy-Daisy, and Alfred Haynes, East Ridge; three sisters, Kelly Owenby and Lola Haynes, both of Ooltewah, and Verna Peckinpaugh, Florida; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, with the Rev. Terry St. John officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Louella Hill
Louella Johnson Hill died Monday, March 22, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 85.

She was born in South Pittsburg, but had lived in Chattanooga most of her life. She was a past member of North Chattanooga Church of God.

She was widowed by both John Bennett Johnson and Gene Hill.

Survivors include a son, Jerry C. Johnson, Hixson; two daughters, Brenda Marler and Shirley Chamberlain, both of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. and Hon. Sam Payne officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today after 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Teresa Jackson
Teresa Marie Jackson of Rossville, Ga., died Saturday, March 20, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 47.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating.

Burial will be at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today before the service at the funeral home.

Loraine Johnson
Loraine D. Johnson of Rossville died Saturday, March 20, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 92.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Trivette officiating.

Burial will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

Sidney Jones
Sidney Jones of Ooltewah died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at his home. He was 84.

Services will be today at 11:30 a.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Burial will be held at a later date in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 9:30 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Michael Klausing
Michael Ray Klausing died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 41.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Survivors include his father, Mel H. Klausing, Ringgold, Ga.; his mother, Joy E. Richey, East Ridge; and a brother, Daniel W. Klausing, Carrollton, Ga.

A graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. in Mount Olivet cemetery with the Rev. Mike Nolan officiating.

There will be no visitation at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East, which is in charge of arrangements.

Henry LaBonne
Henry Manuel 'Hank' LaBonne of East Ridge died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1999, at his home.

A memorial Mass will be held Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Arrangements were made by Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.

Charles Lamb
Charles B. Lamb of Wildwood, Ga., died Saturday, March 20, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 69.

He was a native of Knoxville and had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area for most of his life. He was retired from the U.S. Army with more than 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, where he was a POW for 33 months. He was the first Korean conflict POW from Tennessee to be released.

He also was retired after 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter TN 6, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of the American Postal Workers Union Local, Red Bank, N.J. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Maude Keeble Lamb, a sister, Jean Yates, and a wife, Carolyn Marie Lamb.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lamb; daughter, Mona Rhedi, Destin, Fla.; three sons, Darryl Lamb, Ocala, Fla., Michael Lamb, Signal Mountain, and Chuck Lamb, East Ridge; two sisters, Jane Morawski, Baltimore, and Shirley Goggin, East Ridge; five grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. David McNabb officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lynda Lloyd
Lynda Joyce Lloyd died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 48.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Avondale Chapel, Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Foster officiating.

Brownie Lowe
Brownie L. Lowe died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 89.

She was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Faith Singles Sunday School Class. She was the president of the West Alice Women's Club and was former chairman of the West Alice World Day of Prayer. She was the former owner and operator of the Lowe Food Market and was the widow of Leonard Lowe.

Survivors include a sister, Sarah Johnson, Hixson; nieces and nephews.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.

Osbon Malone
Osbon Malone of Rossville died Sunday, March 21, 1999. He was 75.

Arrangements will be announced by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe.

Winfred McClellan
Winfred McClellan died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by the Trammell Chapel of Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home.

Herman McCormick
Herman Eugene McCormick died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 62.

He was a native of Nashville, but had been a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a member of the Second Baptist Church.

Mr. McCormick was a former driver with Cellery-Vale Trucking Co., shipping coordinator with Glen-Tex and Foxfire, Jorges Carpet Co., a parts clerk with the city of Chattanooga Public Works Department and was a volunteer with the literacy program at Patten Towers.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William 'Billy' and Ervin McCormick, and two sisters, Mildred Kennedy and Mary McCormick.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Lawson McCormick; four sons, Chris, Michael C. and David A. McCormick, all of Chattanooga, and Joshua E. McCormick, Rossville; two daughters, Yvette Ragan, Chattanooga, and Becki McCormick, Rossville; two brothers, Jesse McCormick, Chattanooga, and Thomas M. McCormick, Nashville; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with pastors Allen Crider and Richard Brock officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be all day today at the funeral home.

Hilton Morrison
Hilton Morrison of Soddy-Daisy died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at his home. He was 66.

He was in grocery management with Kroger, Brunos and the Red Food Stores. He attended Soddy Church of God and had been an avid bowler for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn F. Morrison; his mother, Faye Morrison, LaFayette, Ga.; two daughters, Marquita Moore, Asheville, N.C., and Monique Sprouse, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Hill S. Morrison, LaFayette, and Keith A. Morrison, Minot, N.D.; two stepdaughters, Cassie Womack, Soddy-Daisy, and Robin Styers, Jasper, Tenn.; stepson, Nick Hineman, Soddy-Daisy; brother, John C. Morrison, Nederland, Texas; and several grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward L. Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cina Beatty-Sampson
Cina Beatty-Sampson of Rossville and Soddy-Daisy died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 37.

She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of New Covenant Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Rossville High School and was office manager at Niagra-Lasalle.

Survivors include her husband, Lamar Sampson; mother and stepfather, Charlotte and Clark Williams, Rossville; father, Homer Beatty, Dayton, Tenn.; two stepchildren, Brandon Sampson, Baconton, Ga., and Jessica Sampson, Dayton; sister, Tonya Beatty Holcomb, Flintstone, Ga.; and two nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Mike Gregg officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clifford Skelton
Clifford Skelton Sr. died Monday, March 22, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 73.

He was a 1944 graduate of Kirkman High School and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday school class, Red Bank Masonic Lodge 717 D&AM;, the Scottish Rite and the Alhambra Shrine Temple. He was past president of the Red Fez Club.

He was preceded in death by a son, Clifford E. Skelton Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Jeanette Payne Skelton; two sons, Gary S. and Ricky E. Skelton, both of Chattanooga; and five grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, with Dr. Fred Steelman and the Rev. Bill Harvey officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 519 E. Fourth St., Chattanooga, TN 37404.
