Myrtle Haas
SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - Myrtle Reeves Haas died Wednesday, March 24, 1999. She was 88.

The De Kalb County, Ala., native was a member of Davis Chapel Baptist Church in Fort Payne and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a brother, Cleo Reeves, South Pittsburg, and a sister, Josie Bowers, Fort Payne.

Services will be today at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Payne, with the Rev. J.T. Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery in Fort Payne.

Ruth Lambert
JASPER, Tenn. - Ruth Pittman Lambert died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, in a Chattanooga nursing home. She was 90.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, with the Rev. Roger Webb and the Rev. Paul Medley officiating.

Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Tommy Roland
DAYTON, Tenn. - Tommy Roland died Wednesday, March 24, 1999. He was 37.

Mr. Roland was an employee of Polyloom Corp. in Dayton and a Baptist.

He was the son of the late James N. Roland and the grandson of the late Edgar and Alma Reed.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Leah Reed and Earl Dodson, Spring City, Tenn.; a son, Brandon Roland, Dayton; a daughter, Bridget Roland, McMinnville, Tenn.; two brothers, Mike and Jimmy Roland, both of Grandview, Tenn.; a sister, Susan Smith, Douglasville, Ga.; stepbrother, Lynn Dodson, Dayton; one niece and one nephew.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home, Spring City, with Dr. Wayne Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in Reed cemetery in Grandview, Tenn.

Ruby Bright
Ruby D. Bright of Rossville died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 87.

Graveside services will be today at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Duane Mills officiating.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Jeanie Britt
Jeanie Ozel Carter Britt of Rossville died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local nursing care facility. She was 85.

A native of Delta, Ala., she had resided in the Rossville area for the past 50 years and was a member of the Fort Oglethorpe Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd Luther Britt; one daughter, Sandra Blaylock, Rossville; two brothers, Novel and Marvin Carter, Oxford, Ala.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with minister Rick Lawman officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Phillip Cameron
Phillip Cameron Jr. died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 72.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Inez Clark
Inez Mallicoat Clements Clark of Rossville died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 88.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with Dr. Jerry Brown and the Rev. Randy Franks officiating.

Burial will be in Chickamauga cemetery.

Georgie Dallis
Georgie Exer Mae Gertrude Boddie Dallis died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Dallis was a member of New Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she served on the Ministers Wives and Widows Association and the Mothers and Deaconess Ministry of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Dallis, and a son, George C. Dallis.

Survivors include one son, Herbert Dallis, Chattanooga; four daughters, Annie E Eula Taylor, Nashville, Gertrude D. Foster, Tinton Falls, N.J., Anita Dianne Alston and Guana D. Williams, both of Milledgeville, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at noon at New Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Whiteside officiating.

Burial will be in Highland cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Haven, 950 Dodson Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37406.

Arrangements are by the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Willie Duke
Willie C. Duke died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 78.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Susie Ervin
Susie Alice Kimery Ervin of Bedford County, Tenn., died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Glen Oaks Convalescent Center.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and taught in the country schools throughout Bedford County.

She was an alumni of the University of Tennessee, a homemaker and a salesperson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude John Ervin.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Powell, Wartrace, Tenn., Emile Powell, Signal Mountain, and Susan Callis, Los Alamos, N.M.; two sons, C.K. Ervin, Columbia, Tenn., and Nat B. Ervin, Ashland City, Tenn.; one sister, Mary Kate Ervin, Glen Oaks; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Gowen-Smith Chapel with Dr. Glen Phillips officiating.

Burial will be in Willow Mount cemetery.

Rocky Forston
Rocky Forston died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 78.

He was retired from the New York Police Department, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mozella Forston.

Survivors include one son, Danny Johnson; one brother, Raymond Forston, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two sisters, Elizabeth Sivels and Anie Ruth Calhoun, both of Chattanooga.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hamlett Chapel C.M.E. Church with the Rev. William Price officiating.

Burial will be in Highland cemetery.

Arrangements are by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Nakomis Franklin
Nakomis Franklin died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 85.

Graveside services will be today at 12:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Willie B. White officiating.

Arrangements are by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Robert Glenn
Robert Glenn died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local nursing home. He was 62.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Frances Halley
Frances Montgomery Halley of Pittsburgh, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999. She was 76.

Local survivors include one aunt, Daisy Moss McCoy.

Services and burial will be Thursday in Pittsburgh.

J.D. Harris
J.D. 'Buck' Harris of Kingsland, Ga., died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in Jacksonville, Fla. He was 83.

Arrangements will be announced by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Emmanuel Haswell
Emmanuel Haswell died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 84.

The longtime Chattanooga area resident was a veteran of World War II and a member of Stanley Heights Baptist Church.

He was retired from Southern Railroad and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Survivors include his wife, Bess Phillips Haswell; one sister, Glennie Cline, Fort Oglethorpe; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Waters and George Birch officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today and Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donald Huddleston
Donald E. Huddleston, a retiree from South Central Bell after 41 years, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at his home. He was 78.

Services will be today at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church building fund, 3921 Murray Hills Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37416.

Leo Jones
Leo Jones died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Aldine King
Aldine Follette King died Monday, March 1, 1999, at her home. She was 87.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, working for the Vogue and Loveman's Department stores for many years. She also managed the Robert E. Lee Apartments.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in the Golden Gateway. She was president of the Mary Sunday School Class, past president of the WMU, served on the pulpit committee and was nominated as 'Woman of the Year' by the church.

She was widowed by both William Follette and Sherman King.

Survivors include one sister, Nelda P. Caldwell, Huntsville, Ala.

Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Wallace Parham officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, 401 Gateway Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37402.
