Sylvia Waters of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and a former resident of Rossville, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at her home. She was 61.
She owned Cloud Springs Beauty Shop for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lakeview, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one sister, Vivian P. Shipp, Palm Beach Gardens; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Thursday at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm CIty, Fla.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Annie Wise Annie O. Wise died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 52.

Doyle Ashburn
DAYTON, Tenn. - Doyle H. Ashburn of Pikeville, Tenn., died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. He was 86.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
He was a retired mechanic and operator of Ashburn's Garage for 22 years. He was a former employee of Brown and Wilson Motor Company.
He was an Army veteran and he served in the Philippines, Germany and Japan in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Ashburn.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Farr, Murietta, Calif., and Betty Thompson, Whitehall, Wisc.; one son, the Rev. Doyle Ashburn, Pikeville; two sisters, Willie Kinney, Atlanta, and Jewell Gentry, Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Carl Ashburn, Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Arrangements will be announced by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home in Pikeville.

Ruby Ashburn
DAYTON, Tenn. - Ruby Morgan Ashburn of Pikeville, Tenn., died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. She was 79.
She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church where she served as treasurer and taught a ladies Bible Study.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Ashburn.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Farr, Murietta, Calif., Betty Thompson, Whitehall, Wisc.; one son, the Rev. Doyle Ashburn, Pikeville; three brothers, Odie Morgan, Hixson, Glenn Morgan, Corpus Christie, Texas, and A.J. Morgan, Lakeland, Fla.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

SWEETWATER, Tenn. - Nellie Dethridge died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 89.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Williams and elder Ovit G. Pursely officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Roane County.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Collin Will Freeman, infant son of Carl and Juana Ogle Freeman, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital.
Survivors include his parents; one sister, Makayla Freeman; three brothers, Jonathan Freeman, Jason Freeman and Kyle Freeman; maternal grandparents, Bill and Chris Ogle, Georgetown, Tenn.; and paternal grandparents, Richard Freeman, Etowah, Tenn., and Opalene Freeman, Reliance, Tenn.
Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. in the Cohulla Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Jones officiating.

SEYMOUR, Tenn. - Dorothy Helen Conatser McCarter died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999 at her home. She was 71.
She was a member of Richardson's Cove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Edward McCarter; two daughters, Shirley Warwick, Knoxville, and Charlotte Atwood, Chattanooga; two sisters, Anna Conatser, and Ruth Walker, Knoxville; two brothers, John Conatser, Knoxville, and George Conatser, South Carolina; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Justus officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the services today at the funeral home in Sevierville, Tenn.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Mary Agnes Malchow died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 66.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Malchow; four daughters, Paula Hubbard, Paulette Rosenthal, Pamela Wright, Cleveland, Allyson Feldman, Morristownship, N.J., and Barbara-Ann Cuccaro, Fanwood, N.J.; one son, Paul Malchow, Scotch Plains, N.J. and 11 grandchildren.

ATHENS, Tenn. - Gwen Hurley Pierce died Thursday, Feb. 5, l999, at a local health care facility. She was 70.
She was a former Bible teacher in the McMinn County school system.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Wayne Charles Poole died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999. He was 71.
He was a native of Chattanooga, and a former employee of Kidwell Market and Red Food Store and was retired from Grand Western.
He was a member of East Chattanooga Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Poole; two daughters, Rebecca Fulton, and Tammy Burns, Fort Lauderdale; two sisters, Margie Parker and Helen Lillard, Chattanooga.
Services were held Saturday in Florida.
Burial was in Lauderdale Memorial Park cemetery.

GRUETLI-LAAGER, Tenn. - John A. Schild died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, at his home. He was 76.

DELANO, Tenn. - Cleetis Akins Shelton died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, in a Knoxville hospital. He was 64.
He was a native of Polk County, Tenn., and was a retired truck driver and painter.
He was a member of Delano Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son Rex Shelton.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Shelton; one daughter, Penny Sneed, Delano; one son, Earl Shelton, Englewood, Tenn.; his mother, Ina Shelton, Delano; two sisters, Jerry Croft and Kathy Shaw, Delano; three brothers, Winston and James Shelton, Delano, and Don Shelton, Etowah; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was a Baptist.
