Thomas Almond
Thomas Lee William Almond died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 84.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with brother John Barkley officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

Harry Barnett
Harry Barnett of Savannah, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999. He was 90.

The Atlanta native was a graduate of Georgia Tech and moved to Savannah in 1973 after retirement from the Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Co. in Marietta, Ga.

He was a member of Temple Mickve Israel, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Chatham County Exchange Club, the Jewish Educational Alliance and American Association of Retired Persons.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Shiver, Statesboro, Ga., and Carol Berz, Chattanooga; two sisters, Esther Friedman, Atlanta, and Sylvia Chern, Coconut Creek, Fla.; two brothers, Herman Barnett, Savannah, and Irvin Barnett, New Jersey; six grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Thursday in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Atlanta.

Arrangements were made by Greenlawn Funeral Home, Atlanta, and Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Savannah.

Wilma Bond
Wilma Windsor Bond died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 76.

Services will be today at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Carver and the Rev. Mary Jayne Allen officiating.

Burial will be Chattanooga National cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Golden Gateway, 401 Gateway Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37402 or to the Community Kitchen, 727 E. 11th St., Chattanooga, TN 37403.

Ruth Boyd
Ruth W. Boyd died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in a local hospital.

A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Northside Presbyterian Church with Dr. Larry Schenk officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Presbyterian Church, 923 Mississippi Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37405.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Larry Bradford
Larry Bradford Sr. died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Michael Bridgman
Michael G. Bridgman of Hixson died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 55.

Services will be today at 3 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Art Wood, the Rev. Ray Clark and other ministers officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Farris Brown
Farris Clark Brown of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at her home. She was 76.

Mrs. Brown taught school in Hamilton County, Puerto Rico, and Las Vegas.

Survivors include two sons, Roger and David Clark, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.

Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy.

Nola Carey
Nola Harris Carey of Mowbray Mountain, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 82.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve James officiating.

Burial will be in Granny Walker cemetery.

Billie Carson
Billie Ann Wolgamott Carson of Belton, S.C., formerly of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C. She was 81.

She was the widow of William Jay Carson, and a member of Cohutta Church of Christ in Cohutta, Ga.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat C. O'Neal, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Linda C. Jenkins, Belton; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at J. Avery Funeral Home in Chattanooga, with brother J.C. Watkins officiating.

Burial will be in McDonald cemetery in Ooltewah, Tenn.

The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to made to the American Lung Association, 300 Coffee St., Greenville, SC 29601.

Peggie Coffin
Peggie Ann Coffin died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in a Marietta, Ga., hospital. She was 68.

A native of Memphis, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Virginia Ozment, and was the widow of James B. Coffin..

Survivors include two sons, Robert Bowden, Dallas, Texas, and David Hester, Kennesaw; five stepdaughters, Roberta Lowe and Robin Riley, both of Key West, Fla., Ann Curry, San Antonio, Texas, Kathy DuReitz, Chesapeake, Va., and Maureen Merrill, Montgomery, Ala.; four stepsons, James M. Coffin, Soddy-Daisy, Patrick, Jeffery, and Stephen Coffin, all of Montgomery, Ala.; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Lee Davidson
Lee A. Davidson of Soddy-Daisy died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 89.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and attended the Church of God.

Survivors include one daughter, Velma Mills; one son, Eugene R. Davidson; one sister, Lorene Flippo, all of Soddy-Daisy; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitch McClure officiating.

Burial will be in Dividing Ridge cemetery.

Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Divine
Mary Hills Divine of Naples, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999. She was 96.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Forest Hills cemetery with the Rev. Frank Hitchings officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas McCallie Divine Scholarship Fund of McCallie School.

Arrangements are by Wann Funeral Home.

Sally Ferguson
Sally M. Ferguson of Hixson died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 77.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Bishop Rick Youngblood and the Rev. Bobby Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Visitation will be today and Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Fountain
Mary Fountain died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Joyce Hicks
Joyce Ann Hicks of Hixson died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at her home.

Services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

James Ingram
James Ingram of East Ridge died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 72.

Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with pastor Allen Farris officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

Vesta James
Vesta A. James of Red Bank died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in a local health care facility.

A native of Murphy, N.C., she moved to Red Bank 20 years ago from Richmond, Va.

She was a private duty nurse and a member of Richmond Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Claire Shearer, Idaho; one brother, William H. James, Richmond; two nieces and a nephew.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Magee officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Jessie Kincaid
Jessie Mae Kincaid of Harrison died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 71.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Taylor Castleberry officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

David Leming
David Wayne Leming died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 46.

Mr. Leming was a native and lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, a 1970 graduate of Kirkman Technical School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was employed with Chattanooga Photoengraving as a printer and was a member of the American Pool Players Association thru Chattanooga Billiard Club, Downtown.

He was a grandson of the late Uva Leming.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Whatley Leming; one daughter, Rachel Leming Trent; his mother, Margaret Price, Lakeland, Fla.; his father, Raymond S. Alexander; one brother, William Leming Jr., both of Graysville, Tenn.; and one sister, Marie Matthews, Parish, Ala.

Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Davenport officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
