Beecher Roberts
ETOWAH, Tenn. - Beecher Roberts died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in an area nursing home. He was 39.

He was a native of Monroe County, a son of the late Jess and Flossie Holcomb Roberts.

He was a Baptist and the brother of the late Wanda Garrett.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Ward Roberts; one daughter, Paige Burris; one son, Earl Roberts, all of Etowah; stepson, Justin Burris, Delano, Tenn.; three brothers, Jay Roberts, Pete Roberts and Willard Roberts, all of Etowah; two sisters, Gertie Gibson, Athens, and Marie Hyatt, Englewood, Tenn.

Services will be today at 8:30 p.m. at the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Millsaps and the Rev. Frank Hicks officiating.

Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Old Salem cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Franklin Springs
DAYTON, Tenn. - Franklin H. Springs died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 66.

Arrangements will be announced by Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home, Dayton.

Anna Thompson
OCOEE, Tenn. - Anna Pearl Thompson died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 82.

She was a lifelong resident of Polk County, living most of her life in the Reliance area. She was the widow of Loman Thompson, a member of Hiwassee Union Baptist Church, but for the last few years, attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Ocoee.

Survivors include one son, Johnny Thompson, Ocoee; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenzil Hooker officiating.

Burial will be in Campground cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Wilson
ETOWAH, Tenn. - James Homer Wilson died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in an area nursing home. He was 94.

He was a native of Wilcox County, Ga., was a retired service station owner and a member of the Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in East Point, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah P. Wilson; one son, Charles Wilson, Etowah; three stepdaughters, Rama Burns, Morristown, Tenn., Norma Kuisle, Phoenix, Ariz., and Marion Culberson, Columbus, Ohio; one stepson, John Beaty, Columbus; and two grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at West View Mausoleum in Atlanta, with the Rev. Clarence Jett officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 600 N, Daisy St., Morristown, TN 37814.

Arrangements are by Bordwine Funeral Home, Etowah.

William Bowers
ENGLEWOOD, Tenn. - William 'J.R.' Bowers died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at his home. He was 73.

He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County, a member of Englewood Church of Christ, a retiree from Athens Stove Works, a former president of the Englewood Lions Club, former president of IUE-676 and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Daugherty Bowers; four daughters, Rhonda Collins and Cheryl Leatherwood, Athens, Sharon Lupo, Cleveland, and Robin Nesbitt, Englewood; one son, Tracy Bowers, Englewood; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services will be today at 8 p.m. at the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with minister Robert Flowers and others officiating.

Burial will be in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Milburn Brewers
OCOEE, Tenn. - Milburn Howard Brewers died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in a Cleveland, Tenn., hospital. He was 79.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Bettis officiating.

Burial will be in Hall cemetery in Chatsworth.

Visitation will be held today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Emma Chattin
DAYTON, Tenn. - Emma 'Bessie' Chattin died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at her home. She was 99.

She was a member of Spring City United Methodist Church, a longtime resident of Rhea County, a retired teacher from the Rhea County school system, and a gray lady at Rhea Medical Center for many years.

She was the widow of Ernest F. Chattin.

Survivors include one nephew, Bob Taylor; grand-niece, Angie Taylor, and a grand-nephew, Charlie Taylor, all of Dayton.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Spring City cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Cripps
PIKEVILLE, Tenn. - James S. Cripps died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 63.

He was a chef and a member of Full Gospel Assembly of God, the Lions Club and Fall Creek Falls Community Action.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Jean Cripps; two sons, Michael and L.C. Cripps; two daughters, Teresa Cripps and Janie Shannon; two brothers, Lonnie Cripps and Marshall O. Cripps; three sisters, Lessie Havner, Gladys Higgins and Mary Ella Messimer, all of Pikeville.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pikeville Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Norris officiating.

Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at Pikeville Funeral Home.

Estelle Godfrey
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Estelle Godfrey died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 75.

Arrangements will be announced by the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home.

Ella Goforth
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Ella Mae Goforth died Saturday Feb. 20, 1999, in a Nashville area health care facility. She was 91.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper with the Rev. Johnny Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Ruby Green
TRACY CITY, Tenn. - Ruby Allene Green died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at her home. She was 65.

Arrangements will be announced by Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tenn.

Annie Hardin
DAYTON, Tenn. - Annie Sue Tallent Hardin died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at the family residence. She was 91.

Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton with the Rev. J. C. Gholdston and the Rev. David Burkhart officiating.

Burial will be in Faith Gardens, Buttram cemetery, in Dayton.

Modena Houston
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Modena Houston McAlister, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 88.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard Houston; one daughter, Virginia Ann Lunsford; one son, J.D. Houston; and a grandchild, all of Cleveland.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the North Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. R.T. Roberts and the Rev. Carlos Sibley officiating.

Burial will be in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.

McNeil Jenkins
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Funeral services for McNeil Jenkins Sr. will be today at 4 p.m. at the North Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. R.L. Shultz officiating.

Burial will be in Fort Hill cemetery in the veterans section.

Mr. Jenkins died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 73.

Clifton Jones
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Clifton Martin Jones died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999. He was 99.

Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. at West View cemetery in Sweetwater.

A memorial services will follow at First Presbyterian Church in Sweetwater with Chris Noto officiating.

Arrangements are by Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater.

Jeff Keef
Jeff Keef died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 90.

Arrangements will be announced by Grissom Funeral Home.

Jess Madison
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Jess Madison died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 90.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Keef Madison.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with the Rev. David Evans officiating.

Burial will be in Cofer cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jane Ottman
ETOWAH, Tenn. - Jane Rader Ottman died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 65.

A native of Summersville, W.Va., and a resident of Etowah for the past 25 years, she was a retired nurse from Woods Memorial Hospital and a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilburn Rader.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Ottman, Etowah; three daughters, Beth Anton, Ashburn, Va., Susan Ottman, Etowah, and Amy Ottman, Chattanooga; her mother, Geraldine Rader, Summersville; two sisters, Norma Jean Cottle, Summersville, and Betty Rader, Bluefield, W.Va.; and one brother, Kenneth Rader, Summersville.

Services were held Saturday, Feb. 20, at the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Crockett officiating.

Burial was in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Hills cemetery.

Robert Parsons
SEWANNE, Tenn. - Robert Hershel 'Bobby' Parsons died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in a Monteagle, Tenn., health care facility. he was 59.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home in Monteagle with Ronnie Fults officiating.

Burial will be in Harrison cemetery.
