Ruth Anderson
Ruth Anderson died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 95.

She was a graduate of Burke Finishing School and was retired from General Motors.

She also taught piano lessons at her home and was a gold star mother.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Ray Morgan, Chattanooga, and Marie Burch, Soddy-Daisy.

Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kenneth Morgan officiating.

Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.

Mary Butler
Mary Karen Butler, a native of Chattanooga and a resident of Rossville for the past 25 years, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 50.

Mrs. Butler was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rachel Davis Vial and a member of the Living Covenant Church.

Survivors include her husband, three sons, one brother and five grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Linder officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday.

Judith Chacon
Judith Ann Chacon of Hixson died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 56.

Services will be today at 7 p.m. at the Hixson Seventh-day Adventist Church with pastor Robert Fancher officiating.

Additional services and burial will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Cushing, Okla.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Earl Darr
Dr. Earl E. Darr, a resident of Alexian Village, Signal Mountain, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 92.

Formerly of Chicago, he was the former owner and funeral director of C.F. Jordan & Co. Funeral Home for over fifty years.

Survivors include his wife, Vesta 'Brownie' S. Darr, Signal Mountain; stepdaughter Patricia Jones, Signal Mountain; and one sister, Norma Settle.

Funeral services and burial will be Saturday in Chicago.

Local arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Ernest Davis
Ernest E. Davis of West Haven, Conn., died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999. He was 51.

He was the son of the late Joe T. and Ida Davis.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a warehouse worker and a member of the NAACP.

Survivors include five brothers, Joe, Charles, and James Davis, all of Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., Fred Davis, West Haven, and Allen Davis, Lawton, Okla.; two sisters, Mildred Middlebrooks, Lyndhurst, Va., and Nancy Drake, Chattanooga.

Services will be Friday in New Haven, Conn., and burial will be in West Haven.

Shirley Ann Davis
Shirley Ann Davis died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at her home.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Isabelle Farnsworth
Isabelle Farnsworth of Red Bank died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at her home. She was 77.

Arrangements will be announced by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Lucille Ferguson
Lucille 'Tootsie' Ferguson died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 83.

Born in Rhea County, she had lived here most of her life. She was a Baptist, a seamstress, and had worked at Signal Knitting Mill and Star Knitwear.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ferguson.

Survivors include one daughter Bobbie Cann; and one son, Robert 'Bobby' Ferguson, both of Chattanooga; one brother, Lee Craig, Whitwell; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Mansfield officiating.

Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mollie Frumin
Mollie Ann Frumin, former owner of Mollie Frumin's Bakery, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999.

The Chattanooga native was secretary and treasurer of the Quilting Guild and was of the Jewish faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Adriel Cogdal, Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, Louis Katchen, Chattanooga; and a sister, Mary Rind, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Shari Zion cemetery with Rabbi Josef Davidson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Arrangements are by J. Avery Bryan, Chattanooga.

Henry Fullilove
Henry M. Fullilove died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at an area hospital. He was 61.

He was a member of Rush Temple A.M.E. Zion Church of Jamaica, N.Y., and was retired from NYC Transit.

Survivors include his wife, the Rev. Ocie Fullilove; two sons, Michael Fullilove, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Michael C. Fullilove, Chattanooga; two brothers, Horace Weeks, Bronx, N.Y., and Virgle Anderson, Indianapolis, Ind.; and three sisters, Eldora Owens, Vaiden, Miss., Dorothy Leslie Billingsley, Bronx, and Daisy Wellington, Queens, N.Y.

Services will be Thursday at noon at Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Tucker officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Garner
Mary Elizabeth Garner died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at her home. She was 79.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the American Business Women's Association of America.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Alyce Watkins, High Point, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Honorable Sam Payne officiating.

Burial will be Thursday in Floral Garden Park cemetery in High Point, N.C.

Visitation will be today from 10 to 11 a.m. at the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Rilla Irene Chandler Guest died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.

Joyce Hough
Joyce Ellen Hough of Red Bank died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at her home. She was 84.

Services will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Calvary Mausoleum with the Rev. Darryl Hessel officiating.

Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

Thomas Hughes
Thomas Andrew Hughes of Harrison died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999. He was 83.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Dotson and the Rev. Herbie Stokes officiating.

Burial will be in Harrison cemetery.

The family will be receive friends today from 1 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Virginia Hughes
Virginia M. Hughes of Moulton, Ala., died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in a Birmingham hospital. She was 75.

Survivors include one son, John Scott 'Scotty' Meredith, Rossville; one daughter, Katherine 'Lynn' Wright, Moulton; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Oakwood cemetery in Statesville, N.C.

Arrangements are by Parkway Funeral Home, Moulton.

Mattie L. Jordan died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at her home.

She attended Thankful Baptist Church and was the widow of L.S. Lathan Jordan.

Survivors include one son, Roger E. Gustus Jr.; one sister, Emma Pearl Hines; one brother, Willie Newson; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday at noon at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with elder Oscar Lockhart officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Annie Martin
Annie Lee Spriggs Martin of Chattanooga died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, in a Cleveland, Tenn., health care facility. She was 85.

She was a member of Christian Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the widow of Cleo Martin.

Survivors include one stepson, Robert Martin Jr., Chattanooga.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home in Cleveland, Tenn.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m.
