Ray M. Harlin Sr. of Chattanooga, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in Raleigh, N.C. He was 76.
Services will be today at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Lanny Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6925 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421, or a favorite charity.
James Heard
James Heard died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 76.
He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the senior choir. He worked at Key-James Brick and was educated in the Chattanooga public schools.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nel Heard.
Survivors include one daughter, Rose Jones, Salisbury, Md.; one aunt, Clara Hayes, Chattanooga.
Services will be today at noon at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. James Calhoun officiating.
Arrangements are by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.
Tania Henley
Tania Lee Henley of East Brainerd died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999. She was 21.
A native of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Henley had lived in Chattanooga for most of her life, and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, David E. Henley Jr.; one daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Henley; her parents, Bill and Dee Irene Sledge,; two brothers, Denny and Joey Becker; one sister, Debra Becker, all of Chattanooga; grandparents, Ruth Becker, Phoenixville, Pa., Perry Coulston, Charleston, S.C., and Bill and Maryde Fullington, Nashville; great-grandmother, Bonnie Richardson, Chattanooga; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jessie Hill
Jessie Hill died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 85.
Services will be today at noon at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. L. Earl Tolbert and the Rev. Paul A. McDaniel officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.
The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Jessie F. Hill.

Marie Pack of Inverness, Fla., formerly of Chattanooga, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in a hospital there. She was 88.
Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Andrew Stone officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Will Perry
William Harrison 'Will' Perry, 15-month-old son of Lance and Amy Jo Perry of Nashville, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999.

ETOWAH, Tenn. - Leonard R. Moss Sr. died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 77.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Marjorie B. Nelson died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 81.

Luther Poteet
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Rev. Luther T. Poteet died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 77.
He was a native of Polk County and a World War II veteran, who was battlefield promoted while in Germany . He served 11 years in the National Guard and Army.
He was a Baptist minister for the past 45 years, having pastored several churches in Polk and Bradley counties and was a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church in Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Bramlett Poteet; three sons, Billy, Ray, and Johnny Poteet.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Ball Poteet; three daughters, Mary Lou Chastain, Reliance, Tenn., and Carolyn Pirkle and Dianne Maxwell, Cleveland; six sons, Roy Poteet, Orlando, Fla., Jimmy Poteet, Etowah, Tenn., Paul Poteet, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Kenny Poteet, Lolo, Mont., Roger Poteet, and Steve Poteet, Cleveland; two brothers, Floyd Poteet, Maryville, Tenn., and Will Poteet, Delano, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Cloverleaf Baptist Church in Cleveland with the Rev. Huel Hooker and Eddie Rowland officiating.
Burial will be in Delano cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Bordwine Funeral Home.
The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Willie Powell
WHITWELL, Tenn. - Willie Roy Powell died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 63.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. CST at Ewton Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Parks and the Rev. Donald Camp officiating.
Burial will be in Hudson cemetery.
Carlos Roberson
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Carlos C. Roberson died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 75.
He was a retired aviation ordnance chief from the U.S. Navy. During his service in World War II, he served on seven different aircraft carriers and also served as a tailgunner on several air missions.
Mr. Roberson was retired from Olin Chemical Co., as a security officer and attended the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Scoggins Roberson; one daughter, Kay Graham, Birchwood, Tenn.; two sons, Carlos Hugh Roberson, Cleveland, and Terrell Roberson, Knoxville; one sister, Edith Hathcock, Cleveland; one brother, the Rev. Marshall Roberson, Cleveland; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Marshall Roberson and the Rev. Max Morris officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Dawn Marie Rogers died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 26.

Burial will be in Fort Hill cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Joyce Rumba
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Joyce Faye Beck Rumba died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 51.
She was the daughter of the late Estle and Carzelle Morrison Beck, and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Rumba; four daughters, Robbie Ledford, Dawn Carson, Cleveland, Tammee Wilson, Charleston, S.C., and Kristen Rumba, Knoxville; one son, Michael Rumba, Cherry Point, N.C.; one sister, Hether Beck, Paducah, Ky.; three brothers, Jim, Mack, and Gary Beck, all of Cleveland.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with brother Tom Rumnba and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel cemetery.
Visitation will be today and Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Kenneth Schenk
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Kenneth D. 'Dru' Schenk died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 54.
He was a native and lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Cleveland areas, a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a local composer of music for the symphony orchestra.
He received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Tennesee at Chattanooga.
He was a son of the late James W. and Sara Jane Henshel Schenk.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Schenk, Cleveland; two sons, John and David Schenk, both of Chattanooga; three daughters, Amy Schenk, Cleveland, Ann Schenk, Chattanooga, and Kate Schenk, Newport News, Va.; one brother, James W. Schenk, Virginia; two sisters, Janie Buss, Virginia, and Sara Brower, Connecticut.
Memorial services will be Friday at noon at OLPH Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Nolan officiating.
Private burial will be at a later date.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Association.

JASPER, Tenn. - Mable T. Shook died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in a local hospital.
