Hal McCullough
Hal Emerson McCullough of Chattanooga died Thursday Feb. 11, 1999, in Sanibel Island, Fla. He was 75.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel, with the Rev. Lanny Johnson and Dr. Dwayne Cole officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions can be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 N. Moore Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Inell Moore
Inell H. Moore died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999. She was 86.

She was a member of the Sharon Rose Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mable Bates.

Survivors include her husband, Eldridge L. Moore; one son, Edward L. Moore; one foster daughter, Melba Jean Bates; two grandsons and one great-grandson.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home, Avondale Chapel, with the Rev. Robert C. Watson officiating.

Burial will be in the Hickory Flat cemetery in Decatur, Tenn.

The body will lie in state Monday after noon at Avondale Chapel.

George Patrick
George Edward Patrick died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at a local hospital. He was 54.

He was a United States Army veteran and was employed at Mercury Cab. Co.

Arrangements will be announced by Crombie-Pinkard Funeral Service.

Mable Rose
Mable Jane McClure Rose died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in a local nursing facility. She was 59.

Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Bud Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

The family will receive friends today after 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlie Shelton
Charlie Shelton died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in a Nashville hospital. He was 47.

He was a longtime resident of Chattanooga and a former employee of Morrison's Cafeteria.

Survivors include his mother, Doris Robinson Shelton; three sisters, Jennifer Shelton, Oakland, Calif., Janice Shelton, College Park, Ga., and Caron Shelton, Chattanooga; and one brother, George Shelton, Chattanooga.

Services will be held Tuesday at noon at Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay P. Trimble officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The body will lie in state Monday after noon at Avondale Chapel, Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Robert Shields
Robert Anthony Shields died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 60.

He was a graduate of the University of Chattanooga and was an engineer with World Carpets.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Robert Shields, Tampa, Fla.

Services will be today at 3 p.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home.

Burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Lynnhurst cemetery in Knoxville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today until the service.

Barbara Sweatt
Barbara Jean Sweatt of Hixson died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in a local hospital.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coulter Chapel, Lane Funeral Home.

Arrangements will be announced by the funeral home.

Luther Thompson
Luther L. Thompson Jr. died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 72.

He was a native and longtime resident of Chattanooga.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Dasota Chemical with 25 years of service. He was in the Teamsters Local# 515.

He attended Cromwell Baptist Church and was a member of the Knights of Pythias.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma A. Thompson.

Survivors include two daughters, Maxine E. Buffington and Marie E. Thompson; his stepmother, Ora Belle Thompson; his stepsister, Janie Sharp, all of Chattanooga; his stepbrother, Robert Thompson, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel, Lane Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Myers and the Rev. Patrick Buffington Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery with the Rev. John Collins officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sadie Watkins
Sadie Gass Watkins of Red Bank died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 89.

Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with minister J.C. Watkins officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Herbert Allen
DUNLAP, Tenn. - Herbert Lewis Allen died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 72.

He was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia/Chattanooga areas and was retired from Combustion Engineering after 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Novella Kelley Allen, and a son, Walter Lewis Allen.

Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Guy, Chattanooga, Elizabeth Alexander, Chickamauga, and Cathy Mabe, Hixson; one son, David E. Allen, Chattanooga; several brothers and sisters in Dunlap; five grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. today and all day Sunday at the funeral home.

Charlsie Barnes
JASPER, Tenn. - Charlsie Ruth Morgan Barnes died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 75.

She was a lifelong resident of Marion County, and a member of Jasper First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Barnes Sr.; one daughter, Sharon B. Cline; one son, Thomas Barnes, Jr., all of Jasper; one sister, Maggie Lou Smith, Signal Mountain; one brother, Carl Morgan, Port Charlotte, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, with the Rev. Paul Medley and minister Bobby Richardson officiating.

Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dovie Barnett
SEQUATCHIE, Tenn. - Dovie Higgenbottham Barnett died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at her home. She was 88.

She was a lifelong resident of Marion County and was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Obediah Barnett, and a son, Troy Nathan Barnett.

Survivors include three daughters, Delores Massy, South Pittsburg, Reba Lou Reed, Cordova, Ala., and Linda White, Jasper; six sons, Homer N. Barnett, Nashville, Mitchell Barnett, Jasper, Richard Barnett, Greensburg, Mich., Hollan Barnett, Whitwell, Jimmy Barnett, Bryant, Ala., and Don Barnett, Sequatchie; 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, with the Rev. Roger Webb officiating.

Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Winston Guy
ETOWAH, Tenn. - Winston A. Guy died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 72.

Services will be today at 8 p.m. at the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with minister Mike Williams and others officiating.

Burial will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Green Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bonnie Hampton
PALMER, Tenn. - Bonnie Meeks Hampton died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 84.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hobbs Hill Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Hobbs Hill cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City.

Arrangements are by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tenn.

Sibyl Haney
ETOWAH, Tenn. - Sibyl Tallent Haney died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 74.

She graduated from Maryville College with a B.A. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at North Etowah Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Rachael Haney.

Survivors include her husband, L.R. 'Pat' Haney; one son, Jim Bruce, Etowah; three daughters, Terry Lillard, Cleveland, Joy Rose, White Pine, Tenn., and Carol Price, Knoxville; five grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at North Etowah Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Hunter and Michael Lester officiating.

Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery.
