Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd McWhirter, age 91, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Lincoln Care Center, will be conducted Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Basham officiating. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery. Mr. McWhirter was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Clifford Harm & Eunice Wicks McWhirter, a truck driver and a member of the Flintville First Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Lora Lee Hearlston McWhirter and a brother: Jim McWhirter. Survivors include 2 daughters: Brenda Bradley of Flintville, TN, Donna Little of Fayetteville, TN; 1 son: Ronnie McWhirter of Fayetteville, TN; 1 brother: Floyd McWhirter of St. Louis, MO; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. J.D. Hicks

November 20, 1935 - July 10, 2008

Funeral services for Mr. J.D. Hicks, age 72, of Hazel Green, AL, who passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 at his residence, will be conducted Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Toney, AL with Bro. Austin Posey & Bro. Henry McPeters officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Stateline Cemetery. Mr. Hicks was a native of Madison Co., AL, son of the late Zollie & Elvie Woods Hicks, a janitor for Onan Factory and a member of the Pleasant Home Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mildred Yvonne Hicks of Hazel Green, AL; 1 daughter: Judy Stephens of Ardmore, AL; 4 sons: Freddie, Allen, Donnie & Richard Hicks all of Hazel Green, AL; 4 brothers: Bobby Joe Hicks of Taft, TN, Wayne Hicks of Toney, AL, Robert Earl Hicks of Hazel Green, AL, James Hicks of Ardmore, TN; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mrs. Emma Mae Brown

December 27, 1914 - July 11, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Mae Brown, age 93, of West College Street, Fayetteville, TN who passed away at the Lincoln Skill Care Center Friday evening will be conducted on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Don Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her late husband: Henry "Heck" Brown. Mrs. Brown was a native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Moore County Sheriff Alvis Bean & Delia Brooks Bean. She worked as a Press Operator for Collins Dry Cleaning; & was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ. She is survived by 2 daughters: June Blankenship & husband: Herman, Gail Sanders & husband: Rex; 2 sons: Johnny Brown & wife: Evelyn, Jerry Wayne Brown & wife: Jean all of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sisters: Trixie Groce of Lynchburg, TN, & Vaughn Shields of Fayetteville, TN; sister-in-law: Eula Mae Bean of Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening, July 13, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers: Make Donations to the Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ.

Mrs. Iva Frances Sullenger

August 14, 1948 - July 12, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Frances Sullenger, 59, of Mayberry Street, Fayetteville, TN who passed away Saturday morning at her residence will conducted on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Davis & Pastor Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Sullenger was a native of Franklin County,TN she was the daughter of the late Orville & Laura Morris Brewer. She was a housewife and a member of the Holiness Church of God of Cotton Mill Village and attended the Hope Assembly Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Joe & Wayne Brewer and a sister-in-law Susie Green. Mrs. Sullenger is survived by her husband: Leon Sullenger of Fayetteville, TN; 3 daughters: Christy Johnson & husband: Jermaine of Fayetteville, TN, Carolyn Limbaugh & husband: Danny of Lynchburg, TN & Billie Sullenger of Petersburg, TN; 4 sisters: Betty Pickett & Louise Watson both of Winchester, TN, Judy Wilkerson of Scottsboro, AL & Joyce Tidwell of Skyline, AL; sister-in-law: Calvina Little of Boaz, AL; 2 brothers: Orville Brewer, Jr. & wife: Diane of Estill Springs, TN and Douglas Brewer of AL; 7 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. A devoted grandson: Malcolm Johnson. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening, July 14, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. Ernest William Freeman

July 17, 1929 - July 21, 2008

A Memorial service for Mr. Ernest William Freeman, age 79, of Tunstill Loop Road, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 in the Huntsville (AL) Hospital will be conducted on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 3 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness with Mr. John McCaleb, III officiating. The Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Freeman was a native of Walker County, AL, he was the son of late Ned Ganda & Dora Bell Stricklin Freeman. He was Auto Machinist for Shrader Auto Parts. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Velmar Kizzer. He is survived by his wife: Alice Elizabeth Freeman; 2 daughters: Georgia Anna Freeman, Mary Jane Kusen; 4 sons: William Douglas Freeman, Allen David Freeman, Perry Wayne Freeman, & Paul G. Freeman; 1 brother: Ganda Ned Freeman; 4 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 1 great-grandchild. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.

Funeral services for Mr. Billie Joe Bryson, age 53, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday morning at the Lincoln Medical Center will be conducted on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Bass & Rev. John E. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown's Temple Cemetery. Mr. Bryson was a native of Lincoln County, TN, he was the son the late Charles William & Sarah Louise March Bryson. He was a Brazier for Goodman Manufacturing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Sonya Hampton & Nancy Bryson; 3 brothers: James Ray, Edward & William Lee Bryson. He is survived by 2 daughters: Takesha & Tenesha Bryson both of Fayetteville, TN; a sister: Ursila Bryson of Lewisburg, TN; 3 grandchildren: Makhius Covey, Kemayah & Kamora Taylor; other family and many friends. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 26, 2008 from Noon until time of service.

Clyde Woods, age 90, of Flintville, TN who passed away Wednesday morning July 23, 2008 at the Lincoln Medical Center will be conducted on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastors Cleo Moon, Willard Medley, & Dalton Warden officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Woods was a native of Etowah County, AL, the son of the late George W. & Alice M. Mickle Woods. He was a Livestock Broker, a Veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother: Gordon Woods. He is survived by his wife: Lucille Anne Decker Woods; a daughter: Genavee Owens both of Flintville, TN; 3 sons: Johnny Woods of Lynchburg, TN, Jeffery Woods of Flintville, TN, & Shane Woods of Decatur, AL; 3 sisters: Paulene Walden of Elora, TN, Lyda Smotherman of Lewisburg, TN, & Faye Covett of Cornersville, TN; 3 brothers: Clifford Woods of Fayetteville, TN, Lester Woods of Athens, AL, & William ( Shorty ) Woods of Flintville, TN. 5 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation with family will be Thursday evening July 24, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. Locke was a native of Lincoln County, TN, he was the son of the late Tommy & Hattie Lee Mullins Locke. He was a retired School Bus Driver for the Lincoln County Board of Education and was a member of the Fellowship for Christ Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Gene, Leonard & Billy Gerald Locke. Mr. Locke is survived by his wife: Mary Martha Locke of Fayetteville, TN; 2 daughters: Rosie Blevins & husband: Paul of Fayetteville, TN, Glinda Howell & husband: Jason of Bellbuckle, TN; 3 sons: Eddie Vaughn, Terry Locke & wife: Darlene both of Fayetteville, TN, and Rex Locke & fiancé Rhonda Braly of Lynnville, TN; sisters: Frances Dunnavant & husband: James, Ruth Patterson & husband: J.W., Kathleen Jones; 4 brothers: Steve Locke & wife: Elaine, James Locke, Frank Locke & wife: Barbara, Edd Locke & wife: Susie all of Shelbyville, TN. 17 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Boles was a native of Lincoln County, TN he was the son of Kenneth & Kay Welch Boles. He was a salesman for Pendergrass Supply & a member of the Hannah Gap Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents: Kenneth & Kay Welch Boles; a brother: Kyle Boles; and his grandmother: Frances Welch all of Petersburg, TN. 5 special aunts: Faye Welch, Kathy Hill, Sylvia Wilburn, Betty Bennett, & Martha Baucom; 3 special uncles: Stan Hill, Johnny Boles, & Ricky Wilburn; a very special friend: Chan Levrette & her two (2) children.
