Hugh Peacock
Hugh C. Peacock Sr. of East Brainerd died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, in an area health care facility. He was 80.

Mr. Peacock retired from Southern Railroad after 25 years of service. He was a Mason, a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and its John Stophel Class, and a former deacon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Elizabeth Peacock.

Survivors include one son, Hugh Peacock Jr., Rome, Ga.; one sister, Simi Flowers, Troy, Ala.; and two grandsons.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Floyd Roebuck and the Rev. Barton Thigpen officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Morningstar Baptist Treatment Service, 1 Youth Estate Drive, Highway 99, Brunswick, GA 31525-9280.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kimberly Peels
Kimberly Suzanne Peels of Hixson died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at her home. She was 39.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bonnie Potter
Bonnie Potter of Soddy-Daisy died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 81.

Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. in Spring Creek cemetery in Riceville, Tenn., with Bobby Gavitt officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Ollis Pringle
Ollie 'Big Ollie' Pringle died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in a local nursing home.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Helen Sherman
Helen Beatrice Sherman died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 75.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Highlander officiating.

James Thomas
James Thomas died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at his home. He was 62.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Charles Walker
Charles Edward Walker died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at his home. He was 78.

Mr. Walker attended Auburn University. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and retired from TVA as an electrical engineer after 39 years.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Emery Walker; one daughter, Robin Kimball, LaGrange, Ga.; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, with the Honorable Sam Payne officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, Md., 20852.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Ruby Webb
Ruby G. Webb, a former resident of Flintstone, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at a local health care facility. She was 80.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Gilbert, the Rev. James B. Ford and the Rev. Donnie Fine officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Polly Williams
Polly P. Williams died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at her home. She was 87.

She was the owner and operator of Polly's Cosmetology. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Social Circle, Stuart Heights Garden Club, and Senior Neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard C. Williams.

Survivors include one son, Fred 'Rick' Williams, Cleveland; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Bill Mooney officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Thomas Woods
Thomas DeJuan Woods Jr., died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in an Oklahoma City, Okla., hospital. he was 38.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Florence Carroll
Florence Rogers Carroll died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at her home. She was 96.

She was a 72-year resident of East Ridge and was a member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church, the Joy Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She was a member of Bachman Gardeners Club for nearly 50 years and had been active in many civic organizations and beautification projects.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Carroll.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Barddock Carter, Chattanooga; a son, Marvin Carroll Jr., Lynchburg, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Newnan Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darryl Hessell officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Betty Daniel
Betty Bailey Daniel of Chattanooga died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 66.

Mrs. Daniel was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, a retired registered nurse, and former owner of Classy Rags Retail Shop.

She was involved with Chattanooga Cares and a member of various square dance clubs.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Daniel; two daughters, Christine Champagne, Locust Grove, Ga., and Tammy Bethune, Chattanooga; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Valley, Al.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Channels of Love, 1026 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404.

Jessie Ford
Jessie L. Ford died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, at a local nursing home. He was 44.

Mr. Ford was a member of Alton Park Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Betty Ford.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Ford, Chattanooga; three daughters, Lamonica Thompson, Florence, Ala., Tawana Stevens and Jertedra Ramsey, both of Chattanooga; and four sisters, Betty Parham, Atlanta, Ann Simpson, Dorothy Hurt and Brenda Ford, all of Chattanooga.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The body will be at Taylor Funeral Home Saturday after 9:30 a.m.

James Green
James Green, formerly of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, in Dallas, Texas. He was 68.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Arrangements will be announced by Crombie-Pinkard Funeral Service.

Sue Griffin
Sue Elliott Griffin of Nashville died there Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998. She was 65.

Mrs. Griffin was retired from Tennessee Building Products and a member of Crievewood Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas Bradley and Emma Sue Elliott.

Survivors include her husband, John Griffin; two sons, John Griffin and Doug Griffin, all of Nashville; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CST at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Nashville.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

James Hayward
James Hayward died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1998, in a local nursing home. He was 82.

Arrangements will be announced by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Aline Houser
Aline Virginia Houser died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 74.

Services were today at noon at the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Steil Sr. officiating.

Burial was in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Deloris Hudgins
Deloris Hudgins of Brooklyn, N.Y., died there Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998.

She was a Jehovah's Witness, the widow of Maymon F. Hudgins, and the mother of the late Waymon Hudgins II.

Funeral services will be Saturday at Matthew Barrett Funeral Home in Brooklyn.
