John Hart
John A. Hart of Soddy-Daisy died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 72.
He was a native of Dearborn, Mich., and had lived in Soddy-Daisy for a short time.
He was a retired sergeant major serving in the U.S. Army and had also served in the Merchant Marines. After his tour of duty he served as deputy commandant at Culver Military Academy for 14 years.
A graveside memorial service will full military honors will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Philip Briganti officiating.

Mamie Jones
Mamie Miller Jones died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 91.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church with pastor Robert Allen officiating.
Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Golden Langston
Golden Langston died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, in a local hospital.

Margaret Lingerfelt
Margaret Estelle Lingerfelt of Chickamauga, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at her home. She was 94.
She was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga and north Georgia areas.
She was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church and she attended the Rossville Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Highpoint Community Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley A. Lingerfelt; her brother, Leonard Johnson; and a sister, Lucille Hudson.
Survivors include her son, Frank Williamson, High Point, Ga.; two daughters, Wenonah Buckner, High Point, and Dorothy Dotson, Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe with the Rev. Tim Pond officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Billy Lusk
Billy Lusk of Mesa, Ariz., and formerly of Soddy-Daisy, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999. He was 67.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Lusk; four daughters, Debbie Yother, Dunlap, Tenn., Diana Fleshman, Soddy-Daisy; Tiffany Lusk, California, Samantha Deas, South Carolina; three sons, David Lusk, Soddy-Daisy, Dow Lusk, Mesa, and Dylan Lusk, Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Jimmy Lusk, Monterey, Tenn.; several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Millsaps officiating.
Burial will be in Whittaker cemetery.
Elsie Manning
Elsie Luttrell Manning of Soddy-Daisy died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at an area hospital. She was 83.
She was a member of the Daisy Church of God and a member of the Sun Shine Bible Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Manning Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Louise Smith; two sons, Virgil Manning Jr., Soddy-Daisy, and Harold Manning, King George, Va.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Daisy Church of God with the Rev. Lonnie Gable and the Rev. Warren Beavers officating.
Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today after 11 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.

Thelma Louise McNabb died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at her home. She was 82.

Horace Owens Horace J. Owens of Soddy-Daisy died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 86.
