Graveside service for Mrs. Mary Rachel Walker Smith, age 80, of Fort Smith, Arkansas formerly of Lincoln County, TN will be conducted on Monday, September 08, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Champ Cemetery with burial to follow. The Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mrs. Smith was a native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Irene Walker. She was a homemaker and former Secretary for Arkansas Motor Freight (ABF Freight System, Inc.), a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fort Smith Art Center, and past member of the Sparks Guild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: H. C. Smith, Jr. and two brothers: J. C. Walker, Jr. and Gilbert Walker. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters: Suzanne King and husband: Don of Fort Smith, AR and Linda Iwanski and husband: Tony of Mesquite, TX; one brother Jerry S. Walker and wife: Arlene of Fort Smith, AR; 5 grandchildren: Sam, Andy, and Will King, Jesse and Rachel Iwanski. Visitation with the family will be on Monday Morning, September 08, 2008 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 116 North 12th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Mrs. Mildred E. Neal

July 12, 1916 - September 4, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred E. Neal, age 92, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday Morning, September 4, 2008 at her residence, will be conducted on Sunday, September 07, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Winfred Stayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexie Crossroads Cemetery. Mrs. Neal was a native of Franklin County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Thomas & Virginia Nettie Taylor Brown. She was a housewife and a member of the West Fayetteville Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 4 sons: Tommy, Gerald, Ralph, & Glendon; 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, & one great-grandson. She is survived by 5 daughters: Sarah (Dallas) Benson of Huntsville, AL, Barbara Massey, Judy (Dwight) Ashby, Becky (Todd) Smith all of Fayetteville, TN, and Brenda (Martin) Hall of Lynchburg, TN; 1 son: Clay "Bubba" Neal of Fayetteville, TN, 2 sisters: Minnie Brown, and Virginia Smith; 36 grandchildren & 55 great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Friday, September 5, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 06, 2008 from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mrs. Virginia L. Hopcroft

February 19, 1940 - September 08, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Louise Hopcroft, age 68, of Mulberry, TN, who passed away Monday in the Lincoln Care Center will be conducted on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Trotwood Mance officiating. Burial will follow in the Mulberry Cemetery. Mrs. Hopcroft was a native of Lincoln County, TN; she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Coleman & Ora Lee Holt that survives. She was a Homemaker. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her first husband: Kenneth D. Hall, Sr; her second husband: James Madison Hopcroft; a daughter: Robbie Lynn Owens; and a son: Kenneth D. Hall, Jr. Mrs. Hopcroft is survived by 1 daughter: Peggy Hall Atchley; 2 sons: Robert Wayne Hall & Thomas Earl Hall; all of Fayetteville, TN; her mother: Ora Lee Holt of Fayetteville, TN; 3 sisters: Alice Faye Patterson of Fayetteville, TN, Margaret Holt Perkins of Roanoke, VA, Susie Marie Patton of Huntsville, AL; a half-sister: Betty Lucille Holt of Huntland, TN; 1 brother: William Marshall Coleman of Greenville, N.C. and a half-brother: Edward Lee Holt of  South Carolina; 11 grandchildren & several great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening, September 09, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Ms. Frances Elizabeth Dubois

November 11, 1947 - September 09, 2008

Funeral services for Ms. Frances Elizabeth Dubois, age 60, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, September 09, 2008 in McKenzie, TN will be conducted on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Cemetery. Ms. Dubois was a native of Lincoln County, TN of Lincoln County, TN; she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Daisy Lee Wilkerson Dubois. She was a Nurse formerly employed by Lincoln Regional Hospital and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church. She is survived by 2 sisters: Barbara Fanning & Martha Stewart; and a brother: Oscar Lee Dubois all of Fayetteville, TN; a niece & 2 nephews. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, September 11, 2008 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. Harold L. Lake, Jr.

January 19, 1934 - September 14, 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Harold L. Lake, Jr., age 74, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Sunday, September 14, 2008 at his residence, will be conducted Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. graveside in Shady Grove Cemetery with David Trimble officiating. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Lake was a native of Custer, SD, son of the late Harold L. & Rose E. Herbert Lake, an underground miner, a veteran of the Army and he was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include 2 daughters: Barbara Lake of Colorado Springs, CO, Brenda George of Flintville, TN; 1 step-daughter: Bambi Harris of Montrose, CO; 1 step-son: Jeff Harris of Bremerton, WA; 2 brothers: Winston Lake of Rapid City, SD, David Trimble of Illinois; 4 grandchildren: Hunter Bray, Rachel Bray, Garrett Bray, Matthew George; 4 step-children and 2 step-great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Ronnie Lee Ashby, age 59, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away at his residence on Monday, will be conducted on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bevills Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Ashby was a native of Lincoln Co, TN, he was the son of Lee Roy Ashby and the late Martha Warren Ashby. He was a Tile Setter for Shannon Brothers. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a son: Merle Lee Ashby. Mr. Ashby is survived by his wife: Peggy Ashby of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sons: Ronald Wayne Ashby of Fayetteville, TN, Steve Simmons of Georgia; a step-son: Jody Simmons of Fayetteville, TN; a step-daughter: Shelia Yarbrough of Fayetteville, TN; 5 sisters: Frances Rollins, Shirley Kennedy & special friend: John Posey, Sandra Baker & husband: Ronnie, Shelia Manley & husband: Jimmy, Deonna Hill and husband: Adam all of Fayetteville, TN; 5 brothers: Claude Hicks, Jr. & wife: Bell, David Ashby, Ricky Ashby & wife: Debbie all of Hazel Green AL, Bobby Hicks & Jackie Ashby both of Fayetteville, TN; a granddaughter: Jamie Yell & 5 other grandchildren. Dixon, age 40, of Franklin, TN formerly of Fayetteville, TN who passed away at her residence on Thursday, September 18, 2008 will be conducted on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 12 noon in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Arthur Hewlett officiating. Ms. Dixon was a native of Lincoln County, TN was the daughter of Joe Kelly and Rachel Hampton & step-daughter of John Hampton. She was employed by Cigna Insurance Co. and a member of the Mayberry Street Church of Christ. Ms. Dixon is survived by a daughter: Kelsey Rachelle Bailey of Franklin, TN; her mother & step-father: Rachel & John Hampton of Fayetteville, TN; her father: Joe Kelly of Huntsville, AL; 6 uncles; 1 great-aunt; 4 great-uncles; a host of cousins, other relatives, & friends. Visitation with the family will be Monday, September 22, 2008 from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Hunt, age 55, of Kelso, TN, who passed away Friday evening, September 19, 2008 in the Huntsville Hospital will be conducted on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. Mr. Hunt was a native of Lincoln County, TN the son of the late Robert L. Hunt and Sarah Ellen Helm Hunt Taylor who survives. He worked construction as a Dozier Operator and was a member of the House of Prayer & Worship. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife: Mary Hunt of Kelso, TN; 2 daughters: Jennifer Dawn Hunt of Flintville, TN, Brandi Jo Whitfield of Shelbyville, TN; 3 sons: Kerry Marshall Hunt & Christopher Lee Whitfield both of Flintville, TN & Jonathan Wayne Whitfield of Ardmore, TN; 5 sisters: Lois Ruth Mason of Flintville, TN, Nina Mae Beddingfield & Shirley Jean McNeal both of Kelso, TN, Lisa Diane Alexander of Madison, AL, & Sarah Jane Krupp of Monteagle, TN; 3 brothers: James Henry Hunt & Tom Hunt both of Kelso, TN, Johnny Hunt of Fayetteville, TN; and 8 grandchildren.

Mrs. Frances L. Finn

December 18, 1910 - September 21, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances L. Finn, age 97, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday evening, September 21, 2008 at the Lincoln Skill Care Center will be conducted on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Finn was a native of Lincoln County, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Goodlow & Lulu May Moore Tipps. She was retired seamstress for Serbin Fashions and a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Finn was preceded in death by her husband: James Robert Finn, Sr. in 1969; 3 sons: Robert, Jr., Charles & Jerry Finn; 2 grandsons: Jeff & Paul Finn; 3 brothers: Ralph, Harold, & Blakely Tipps and an infant sister: Little Sister. Survivors include 5 grandchildren: Deborah Thomas, Renita Finn, Phillip Finn, Kim Finn, Michael Finn; 2 step-grandchildren: Brenda Brannon & Mike Kirby; 1 sister: Elnora Stephenson of Winston, GA; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening September 23, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

February 14, 1918 - September 22, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie L. Sims, age 90, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Monday morning September 22, 2008 at the Donalson Care Center will be conducted Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Basham officiating. Burial will follow in the Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Sims was a native of Lincoln County, TN, she was the daughter of th late Mack & Anna Pearson Bradford. She was an inspector for Serbin Fashions. Along with her parents, Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband: Mercer Sims and 1 son: Charles Sims. Survivors include 3 daughters: Kathy Shelton of Flintville, TN, Janice Stanley of Madison, AL, Linda Branum of Knoxville, TN; 1 son: James Ray Sims of Kelso, TN; 2 sisters: Dot Hudson, and Dean Honea both of Flintville, TN; 1 brother: Raymond Bradford of Fayetteville, TN; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
