Jean Hutcheson
Jean Crowe Hutcheson of Greenwich, Conn., died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at her home. She was 91.
Her brother-in-law, John L. Hutcheson Jr., owned Happy Valley Farms in Rossville. Her father-in-law, John L. Hutcheson Sr., founded Peerless Woolen Mills in Rossville.
She was a member of the Stanwich Club, the Connecticut Field Trial Association and the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich.
She was preceded in death by Samuel Lewis Hutcheson.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel Lewis Hutcheson Jr, Dallas; William Crowe Hutcheson, Belleair, Fla.; one daughter, Jean Hutcheson Fontaine, Atlanta; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwich.
Burial will be in Putnam cemetery.
Arrangements are by Fred D. Knapp & Son Funeral Home.

Robert Ingbretson
Robert Douglas Ingbretson of East Ridge died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999. He was 80.
He was a native of Milwaukee, Wisc., and had lived in the Chattanooga area for the past 15 years.
He was a World War II veteran with the United States Army and was a retired salesman.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Ingbretson, Chicago, Mark Ingbretson, Oak Wood, Ill., and James Ingbretson, East Ridge; one daughter, Debra Schmidt, Lambard, Ill.; three sisters, Doris Pieplw and Louise Goeldner, Milwaukee, and Dorothy Smith, New York; one brother, Archie Ingbretson, Milwaukee; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with Chaplain Ray Morrison officiating.
Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe.
Johnnie Jenkins
Johnnie V. Jenkins died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999. He was 28.

Sam Lowe
Samuel Brunswick Lowe III, a native and resident of Lookout Mountain, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at a local hospital. He was 74.
He was a retired businessman and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of McCallie School, class of 1942.
A graveside service will be today at 3 p.m. in Forest Hills cemetery with the Rev. John D. Talbird Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Wann Funeral Home.

Bonnie Mathis
Bonnie Fowler Mathis, formerly of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in Pacoima, Calif. She was 55.
She was a graduate of Howard High School.
Local survivors include her sisters, Betty Mayes, Barbara Smith, Belinda Johnson and Bernice Davis.
Services will be Tuesday in California.

Edward McEvoy
Edward McEvoy of Soddy-Daisy died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at his home. He was 64.

Mary Miller
Mary Elizabeth Miller of Hixson and Middle Valley, died Jan. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 76.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Soddy-Daisy. She taught the Welcome Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Miller.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence B. Miller; two sons, Randolph Miller, Hixson, and Steven Miller, Signal Mountain.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel with the Rev. Ron Namanny officiating.
Burial will be in the Chattanooga National cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joseph Paris
Joseph Paris died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 76.
He was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Army. He was retired from Paris Radio & T.V.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Paris and Claude Paris; and two sisters, Ann Paris and Rene Paris.
Survivors include his wife, Rose H. Paris, one son, Joseph C. Paris, Canton, Ohio; one brother, Melvin Paris, Georgia; three sisters, Emma Burton, Miami Beach, Fla., Juantia Strickland, Chattanooga, and Martha Briggs, Storrs, Conn.; and two grandsons.
Services will be held Monday at noon at Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold K. Lester officiating.
Burial will be in the Chattanooga National cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Paul Phillips
Paul Edwin Phillips of Rossville died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 83.
He was a native of Gracemount, Okla., and he lived in Chattanooga and North Georgia area for the past 13 years.
He was a Methodist and was a member of the Rossville Senior & Friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Gail Phillips, Panama City, Fla., and Marilyn Kay Frye, Riceville, Tenn.; three sons, Thomas E. Phillips, Bartlett, Tenn., Willard H. Phillips, Hixson, and Steve. L. Phillips, Soddy-Daisy; two sisters, Helen Phillips, Pa., and Margaret Phillips, Tyler, Texas; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at Lane Funeral Home South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Bill McCoy officiating.
Burial was in Hooker cemetery.
Nellie Potter
Nellie Virginia Potter of East Brainerd died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 80.
She was a native and longtime resident of Rossville before moving to Blue Ridge, Ga. She and her husband owned the Plaza Five and Dime Stores in Blue Ridge and Blairsville, Ga., before retiring in 1980 and moving back to Chattanooga.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Potter; and four brothers, Spence Owens, Bill Owens, Joe Owens and Ballie Owens.
Survivors include her daughter, Wilma Boldt, Cleveland, Tenn.; one grandson, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, two great-granddaughters and one great-great grandson.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Scoggins and Lamar Hayes officiating.
Burial will be in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joann Sawyer
Joann Althea 'Joan' Sawyer died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 49.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hixson.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Neal Jr.
Survivors include one son, Larry Sawyer; one daughter, Felita Sawyer; her parents, Lawrence and Frances Sawyer; two brothers, Anderson Sawyer and Jackie Sawyer, Chattanooga; four sisters, Lawrence Banta, Ontario, Canada, Jacqueline Moore, Chattanooga, Delores Douglas, Hinesville, Ga., and Gloria Davis, Las Vegas, Nev.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Smith officiating.
Burial will be Forest Hill cemetery.
Grace Simmons
Grace Hays Burgess Simmons of Birmingham, Ala., formerly of Chattanooga, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Harpeth Terrace Nursing Center in Franklin, Tenn. She was 89.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Adamsville Church of Christ in Birmingham.
Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
Arrangements are by Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Birmingham.
