Alfred Williams, formerly of Chattanooga, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Eula Wooten
Eula H. Wooten died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 74.
The Athens, Ala., native had lived most of her life in Chattanooga.
Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Hickory Valley Church of God of Prophecy with pastor Duke Stone officiating.
Burial will be Monday in the Chattanooga National cemetery.

Haskell Barker
DUNLAP, Tenn. - Haskell Davis 'Runt' Barker died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in an area health care facility. He was 84.
Mr. Barker was a former mayor of Dunlap, served as court officer and had been very active as a county commissioner for several years.
He was a member of Dunlap United Methodist Church and the Victory Bible Class.
He was a medic in World War II and received a Bronze Star and oak leaf cluster. He was a Mason for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Smith Barker; one daughter, Katie Marshal, Dunlap; two sisters, Reita Bess Barker, Dunlap, and Ann Swafford, Crossville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. CST at Ewton Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
Burial will be in Chapel Hill cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Dunlap United Methodist Church.

SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Sarah Belle Bostick died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 72.

David Cooke
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - David Wayne Cooke, a local civic leader who had been city treasurer here and president of the Cleveland/Bradley County Chamber of Commerce, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in an area nursing home. He was 75.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Cooke, Cleveland; three sons, Jimmy D. Cooke, Hixson, Mark L. Cooke, Syracuse, N.Y., and William E. Harris, Mountain City, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Dr. John Franklin officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Michael Fitzgerald
GUILD, Tenn. - Michael Allen Fitzgerald died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 48.
He was employed by Fred Simmons Trucking Co.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha Russell Fitzgerald; four daughters, Renee Allison, Stevenson, Ala., and Amanda, Amy, and Abby Fitzgerald, all of Jasper, Tenn.; three sons, John D. Fitzgerald, Whitwell, and Aaron and Andrew Fitzgerald, Jasper; four sisters, Pat Shirley, Whitwell, Carolyn Holzer, Kimball, Tenn., Betty Bice, Chickamauga, Ga., and Kathy Conner, Jasper; and six grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home with Michael Reynolds officiating.
Thelma Fox
DELANO, Tenn. - Thelma Amanda Fox died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in an Etowah hospital. She was 84.
She was a member of Wetmore Baptist Church, the widow of Bowden Fox, and the mother of the late Billy Fox.
Survivors include three daughters, Mae Ruth Powell, Sandra Fox, and Betty Culpepper; four sons, Herman Fox Sr., Etowah, Glenn, Bobby and Jimmy Fox, all of Delano; four sisters, Lucille White, Maryville, Jean Davis, Ontario, Calif., Hester Kilby, and Wanda Roberts, Tellico; one brother, Luther Norwood; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Wetmore Baptist Church with the Rev. John Tollock and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Friendship Church cemetery.

Mary Fuller
ATHENS, Tenn. - Mary Ann 'Pee Wee' Brown Fuller died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a Knoxville hospital. She was 57.
She was a graduate of J.L. Cooke High School, a member of Cox Chapel AME Zion Church and was employed by Damy Industries for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Archie Brown Sr.; two brothers, Archie Brown Jr., and John Brown, and a sister, Deliah Johnson.
Survivors include her mother, Jannie Cox Brown; two daughters, Princess and Paula Brown, all of Athens; three sisters, Geraldine Johnson and Robbie Johnson, both of Athens, and Sheila Armstrong, Ooltewah; three brothers, Harold, Donald, and Mitchell Brown, all of Athens; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Cox Chapel AME Zion Church with the Rev. Lonnie McIntire officiating.
Burial will be in Hammonds cemetery in Athens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
The body may be viewed after noon today at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home.

PIKEVILLE, Tenn. - Dean Housley died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 85.
Survivors include four daughters, Doris Bayless, Chattanooga, Carol Wheeler and Linda Barger, Pikeville, and Debbie Sullivan, Whitwell; two sons, Jim and Jerry Housley, both of Pikeville; three brothers, Warren Housley, Grantsburg, Ind., Bill Housley, Cookeville, and Bobby Housley, Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Putnam-Reed Funeral Home with Albert Roberts officiating.
Burial will be in Spring City cemetery.

TULLAHOMA, Tenn. - Katherine Hatfield Jordan died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in an area nursing home. She was 77.

Willard Kirkland
RELIANCE, Tenn. - Willard Paul Kirkland died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in an Etowah hospital. He was 87.
He was a longtime resident of Polk County and was retired from the Tennessee Highway Department.
He had also worked for TVA and attended Hiwassee Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Pauline Jones Kirkland; one son, Willard Bruce Kirkland, both of Reliance; two sisters, Millie Mae Curruth, Turtletown, and Minnie Price, Reliance; and one brother, Clenton Kirkland, Benton.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Smith and the Rev. John Newman officiating.
Burial will be in Reliance cemetery.

SPENCER, Tenn. - Polly M. Morgan died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 81.
She was a retired registered nurse, a Baptist, and the widow of the Rev. George A. Morgan.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph E. Morgan, Cookeville, Dr. Charles G. Morgan, Canada, and G. Thomas Morgan, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, John Moffitt and Charles Moffitt, Spencer, and Raleigh Moffitt, Detroit, Mich.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Love-Cantrell & Cope Spencer Chapel with Michael Christian officiating.
