Lennie Presswood
BENTON, Tenn. - Lennie Analee Presswood died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in an area nursing home. She was 85.
She was the widow of Andrew J. Presswood and the mother of the late Bobby Joe and Eugene M. Presswood.
Mrs. Presswood grew up in the Play-Horns Creek area of Polk County and was a longtime member of Old Ocoee Baptist Church in Benton.
Survivors include six sons, Edward L. and Perry Presswood, Benton, Spencer and Walter Presswood, Cleveland, Jackie Presswood, Etowah, and Winston Presswood, Tunnel Hill.; two daughters, Norrene Norwood, Lithia Springs, and Fay Poindexter, Gainsville, Fla.; two sisters, Lou Allie Walker, Eton, Ga., and Ruth Spangler, Signal Mountain; one brother, Arlin Stafford, Rogue River, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Robert Haskins officiating.
Burial will be today at 10 a.m. in Greasy Creek cemetery.
Beatrice Pruitt
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Beatrice Wood Pruitt died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 88.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Cavins Funeral Home in Mooresville.
Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Concord, N.C.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home.
Bertha Pruitt
PIKEVILLE, Tenn. - Bertha 'Bertie' Pruitt died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at her home.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. CST at Pikeville Funeral Home with the Rev. Denny Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Pikeville cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 3 p.m. CST at the funeral home.

SWEETWATER, Tenn. - James William Randolph died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999. He was 67.
Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. in Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Richard Tallent officiating.
Military honors will be provided by VFW Local 5156.
Arrangements are by Sweetwater Memory Chapel.
Paul Shadrick
SPENCER, Tenn. - Paul W. Shadrick died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at his home. He was 63.
He was a son of the late Carl and Gracie Green Shadrick.
Survivors include six daughters, Debbie Burgess, Flintstone, Ga., Diane Sharee and Teresa Shadrick, Cumberland, Md., Rhonda Sitz, Fall Creek Falls, Tenn., Jannett White, Signal Mountain, and Fawn Piazza, Whitwell; five brothers, David Shadrick, Jasper, Joseph, Jewell, and Phillip Shadrick, Whitwell, and Jerry Shadrick, Shelbyville, Tenn.; one sister, Dorcas Coffelt, Whitwell; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday a 3 p.m. at Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Bryant officiating.
Burial will be in Griffith Creek cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Paul Tamplin
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Paul R. Tamplin died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at his home. He was 72.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Cleveland Elks Club on Second Street.

Martha Ashley
Martha Ashley died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 77.
She was co-founder of Ashley Ambulance Service for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Charles E. Ashley Sr., and a daughter, Charlotte Ann Gater.
She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Charles E. Ashley Jr.; her twin sister, Mary Burrell, Newark, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothea Barnes
Dorothea Mae Goodwin Barnes died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at her home.
A native of Adrian, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Clive and Stella Sprouse Goodwin Sr., and the widow of Frank Barnes.
She was a nurse and a member of St. Elmo Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Clive Goodwin Jr., Wake Forest, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Elmo Seventh-day Adventist Church.
There will be no visitation at Wann Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Mildred Lamb Beene of Jacksonville, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. She was 92.
Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.

Agnes Lucille Parker Holmes died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at her home in Chickamauga, Ga. She was 84.
She was a longtime resident of the north Georgia area, a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and the widow of Homer Henry Holmes.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara 'Jerrie' West, Chickamauga, and Patricia Ann Forrester, New Salem, Ga.; four sons, Daraul Holmes, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Charles D., and John R. Holmes, both of Ringgold, and Homer H. 'Pete' Holmes Jr., Dalton; two sisters, Bertha Campbell, Trion, Ga., and Nell Peterson Rogers, Chickamauga; one brother, James Melvin Parker, Chattanooga; 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 4 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Barker officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pisgah cemetery.

George P. Kiesche of Hixson died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 74.
