Rostislav Zavodmitskiy
Rostislav Zavodmitskiy died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 61.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with pastor Slanik Sokil officiating.

Burial will be in Ooltewah cemetery.

Haskell Barker
DUNLAP, Tenn. - Haskell Davis 'Runt' Barker died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in an area health care facility. He was 84.

Arrangements will be announced by Ewton Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends today from 2 to 9 p.m.

Charles Collins
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Charles Collins died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a Spring City care center. He was 78.

Mr. Collins retired in 1983 as custodian for the Tennessee Valley Authority at Watts Bar. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II and was a member of St. Clair Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Arrena McCulley Collins; one daughter, Patti Robbins, Spring City; and one granddaughter.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Jake Fisher and the Rev. Glenn Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Spring City Memorial Gardens.

Mattie Diggs
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Mattie Elizabeth Diggs died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 92.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Casey Funeral Home in Henderson, Tenn., with burial in Parkburg cemetery.

Local arrangements are being handled by Grissom Funeral Home.

Mary Fuller
ATHENS, Tenn. - Mary Ann 'Pee Wee' Brown Fuller died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a Knoxville hospital. She was 57.

Arrangements will be announced by M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.

Mary Holland
SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - Mary Lee Holland died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 82.

She was a member of South Pittsburg First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Rose Looney; three sons, Marvin, Gene and Don King; three sisters, Virginia 'Hazel' Parker, Willie Smith, and Maggie Martin, all of South Pittsburg; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home, South Pittsburg, with the Rev. Jeff Lane officiating.

Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Betty Lawrence
ATHENS, Tenn. - Betty V. Lawrence died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 66.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Williams and the Rev. Kenneth Scaife officiating.,

Burial will be in Lanetown cemetery, Niota.

Visitation will be after noon today at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.

R.D. Prince
DECHERD, Tenn. - R.D. Prince died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in an area skilled care center. He was 85.

He was a retired maintenance worker.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie Prince; five daughters, Betty Martin and Patsy Hill, both of Decherd; Elizabeth Sherman, Cowan, Tenn., Judy Jones, Ringgold, and Norma Barnett, Tullahoma, Tenn.; four sons, James, Wayne and Ronnie Prince, all of Decherd, and John D. Prince, Winchester, Tenn.; two sisters, Edna Jacobs and Ellen Helben, Winchester; three brothers, Preston and Edward Prince, both of Hillsboro, Tenn., and Mancel Prince, Winchester; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens.

Beatrice Pruitt
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Beatrice Wood Pruitt died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 88.

A native of Mooresville, N.C., she was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville and was retired from Burlington Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Pruitt.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Crisco, Cleveland; one son, Jerry S. Pruitt, Springhill, Fla.; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cavins Funeral Home in Mooresville.

Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Concord, N.C.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home.

Bertha Pruitt
PIKEVILLE, Tenn. - Bertha 'Bertie' Pruitt died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at her home.

She was the mother of the late Donna Kay Pruitt.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Pruitt; two daughters, Peggy Pruitt, Pikeville and Ruth Ann Johnson-Shimp, Wheaton, Ill.; three brothers, James Wiggins, McMinnville, Tenn., Harrison Wiggins, Frost Proof, Fla., and Hubert Wiggins, Crossville, Tenn.; two sisters, Betty Rogers, Crossville, and Alene Turner, McMinnville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. CST at Pikeville Funeral Home with the Rev. Denny Moore officiating.

Burial will be in Pikeville cemetery.

Visitation will be today after 3 p.m. CST at the funeral home.

James Randolph
SWEETWATER, Tenn. - James William Randolph died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999. He was 67.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a constable for Monroe County.

He was the widower of Ann Fielder Randolph.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Prats, Mansfield, Ohio, and Brenda Randolph, Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Bobby Randolph, North Carolina; two sisters, Alice Milian, and Susie Randolph, Sweetwater; two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Richard Tallent officiating.

Military honors will be provided by VFW Local 5156.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. in Sweetwater Memory Chapel.

James Reed
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - James M. Reed, formerly of Varnell, Ga., and the Flint Springs Community in Bradley County, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at his home. He was 73.

He was the widower of Edith Cole Reed.

Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis McDonald and Shelia Merritt, both of Cleveland, Jeannie Goswich, Chatsworth, and Kathy Rochester, Ringgold; three sons, Larry and Zane Reed, both of Dalton, and Michael Reed, Cleveland; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home with pastor Clayton Brown and the Rev. Travis Martin officiating.

Burial will be in Varnell cemetery.

Paul Tamplin
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Paul R. Tamplin died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at his home. He was 72.

He was president and owner of Elastic Yarns in Cleveland, was past president of the Kiwanis Club, Cherokee Plungers and Hedgers Investment Club, Cleveland Golf and Country Club, Chattanooga Yacht Club, Cleveland Elks Lodge 1944, the Tennessee Chapter of the National Association of Hosiery Manufacturers, and was a founding member of the Associated Industries.

Mr. Tamplin was a Baptist, a graduate of Auburn University and a veteran of the U.S. Air Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Gincy Tamplin; one son, Doug Tamplin, Cleveland; one stepson, Dr. Jim Davenport, Piney Flats, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

The body has been cremated.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Cleveland Elks Club on Second St., Cleveland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Elks Lodge building fund, P.O. Box 1034, Cleveland, TN 37364.

Arrangements are by Fike Funeral Home.

William Tate
SEWANEE, Tenn. - William D. Tate died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 64.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home with the Rev. John Bonner officiating.

Burial will be in the Tate family cemetery.
