Mildred Beene
Mildred Lamb Beene of Jacksonville, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. She was 92.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Frances Bettis
Frances Louise Craig Bettis died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 80.

Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

William Bundschu
William Edward 'Bill' Bundschu Jr. died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a Collegedale life care center. He was 81.

The local retired businessman was the owner of Bundschu Enterprises and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

He was a founding member of Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue Squad.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Bundschu.

Survivors include two sons, Martin E. Bundschu and David F. Bundschu, both of Chattanooga; three daughters, Emelie Guess, South Haven, Miss., Karen Gauvreau, Clearwater, Fla., and Mary Presley, Chattanooga; one sister, Peggy Lewis, Houston; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral Mass will be said Saturday at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Nolan officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 8131, Chattanooga, TN 37414.

George Cutchin
George Stanfill Cutchin, who taught at Baylor School for 22 years, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 85.

A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. at First-Centenary United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Harr officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to First-Centenary United Methodist Church or to a church of your choice.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Lester Dobson
Lester Franklin Dobson Jr. of Hixson died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 63.

Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of service today at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

H.P. Dunlap
Col. Herbert P. Dunlap, a retired McCallie School administrator and former Chattanooga city commissioner, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 95.

Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Lea Clower officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church today between noon and 1 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to McCallie School or 'Changed Lives,' P.O. Box 100, Chattanooga, TN 37401.

Arrangements are by the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Leola Franklin
Leola Franklin died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 88.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Nashville.

She earned degrees from Fisk and Tennessee State universities and was a missionary to the Bahamas. She was a retired nurse and had been active in the Tennessee B.M. and E. Conventions.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Franklin, Bellevue, Wash., and two sisters, Minnie Berry and Rosa Howard, Chattanooga.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East, with Ronald Franklin officiating.

Visitation will be today after 11 a.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Jack Horner
Jack N. Horner of Hixson died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at his home. He was 52.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with pastor Marc Bewley officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton County Memorial Park, Soddy-Daisy.

George Kiesche
George P. Kiesche of Hixson died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 74.

The Hoboken, N.J., native had lived in Hixson since 1948. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy Seabees.

Mr. Kiesche retired from Koehring Southern Co., attended Middle Valley Church of Christ, and was an avid tennis player and motorcross racer.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie D. Kiesche; two sons, Eric Kiesche, Ringgold, Ga., and Brian Kiesche, Hixson; three daughters, Paula Brown and Linda Eddlemon, both of Hixson, and Robin Young, Nashville; five half brothers and sisters, all of New Jersey; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with minister Jim Clements officiating.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Merle King
Merle King of Soddy-Daisy died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at her home. She was 85.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with pastor David McNabb officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson.

Landel Lamb
Landel J. Lamb of Hixson died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at his home. He was 67.

Services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Sullins Lamb officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

John Lankford
John Harry 'Lefty' Lankford of Belton, S.C., died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at his home.

He was a native of Fort Payne, Ala., and was a retired restaurant owner and operator.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine W. Lankford; three sisters, Mrs. Dick Karachevich, Mrs. Ben Miller and Mrs. Claude Duncan, all of Chattanooga; one brother, Robert Lankford, Battle Creek, Mich.; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard Tobias, Hastings, Mich.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Lankford family cemetery in Fort Payne.

Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, Belton, S.C.

Everett McGinnis
Everett Cecil McGinnis of East Brainerd died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 71.

A native of Gadsden, Ala., he had lived in Chattanooga since 1993, moving from Birmingham.

He was formerly employed with U.S.X. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Freeda McGinnis; mother, Bertha McGinnis, Chattanooga; one son, Dr. Mike McGinnis, Chattanooga; one daughter, Rebecca Pomeroy, Birmingham; one brother, Don McGinnis, Gadsden, Ala.; one sister, Joyce Childs, Gadsden; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be today at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with Dr. Mike McGinnis officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.

Visitation will be today from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
