ETOWAH, Tenn. - Ida Lee Belcher died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at her home. She was 76.
She was a native of McMinn County, and was a Baptist and the widow of Ralph Belcher.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Hunt, Decatur, Tenn.; half-sister, Louise Ruth, Cleveland; three grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Etowah City cemetery.
Angel Bess
ALTAMONT, Tenn. - Angel Makenna Bess, infant daughter of Lynn and Wendy Bess, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a McMinnville, Tenn., hospital.
Additional survivors include her grandparents, Glenn and Terry Phillips, and Don Bess, all of Altamont, and Cairlean Brady, McMinnville.
Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. in Fults cemetery in Altamont with Charlie Barrett officiating.
Arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home, Altamont.

SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Charles Collins died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a Spring City care center.

David Cooke
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - David Wane Cooke died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in an area nursing facility. He was 75.

Mattie Diggs
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Mattie Elizabeth Diggs died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 92.
She was the widow of Floyd Diggs.
Survivors include three daughters, Annie Harris, Cleveland, Martha Yucel, Boston, and Georgia Clayton, LaGrange, Tenn.; one son, Ray Diggs, Memphis; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Casey Funeral Home in Henderson, Tenn, with burial in Parkburg cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Local arrangements are being handled by Grissom Funeral Home.
Mary Fuller
ATHENS, Tenn. - Mary Ann 'Pee Wee' Brown Fuller died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a Knoxville hospital. She was 57.
Arrangements will be announced by M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
Herman Hamby
MANCHESTER, Tenn. - Herman Wayne Hamby died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 90.
He was a native of Monroe County, Tenn., a retired copper miner after 40 years, and was a member of Forest Mill Methodist Church.
He was the widower of the late Peggy Lavada Hamby.
Survivors include one son, Larry Hamby, Manchester; one daughter, Grace Smith, Estill Springs, Tenn.; one brother, James Hamby, Turtletown, Tenn.; three sisters, Jewell Price, Tucson, Ariz., Hester Price, Reliance, Tenn., and Frances Presswood, Cleveland, Tenn.
Services were held Wednesday at Coffee County Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Webster officiating.
Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Coffee County, Tenn.
Betty Lawrence
ATHENS, Tenn. - Betty V. Lawrence died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 66.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Williams and the Rev. Kenneth Scaife officiating.,
Burial will be in Lanetown cemetery, Niota.
Visitation will be after noon today at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
William Tate
SEWANEE, Tenn. - William D. Tate died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 64.
He was a retired insurance adjuster and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brice Ransom and Mary Emma Sampley Tate, and a brother, John Duncan Tate.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Tate;; one son, Michael D. Tate, Sewanee; two daughters, Sheri Lynn Dowell, Wichita, Kan., and Alisa Marie Stewart, Kennesaw, Ga.; two sisters, Beverly Sweeton, Lebanon, Tenn., and Marilyn Williams, Jasper, Tenn.; five grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home with the Rev. John Bonner officiating.
Burial will be in the Tate family cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carrie Atkinson
Carrie Atkinson died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 98.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with pastor Jerry Terry and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Garden cemetery.
The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mildred Beene
Mildred Lamb Beene of Jacksonville, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. She was 92.
The Chattanooga native was a charter member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and was the widow of John Francis Beene.
Survivors include one daughter, Dianne Luker, Jacksonville; two sisters, Betty Acton, Miami, Fla., and Evelyn Martin, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.

Frances Louise Craig Bettis died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 80.
She was a native and longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, and was retired from Rossville Yarn after 23 years.
She was a Baptist and the widow of Howard Paul Bettis.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Brookshire, Rossville; one sister, Ann Pence, Nashville; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
