Billy Bush
Billy G. Bush died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 71.

Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Carter N. Paden officiating.

Arrangements are by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Chattanooga Chapter, 5808 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421, or the Book of Remembrance, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 848 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415.

Ella Chapman
Ella Ora Tate Chapman of Red Bank died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital.

Services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Fred Steelman officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Bruce Detman
Bruce Fred Detman Jr. died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in a Dallas, Texas, hospital. He was 47.

He was a former assistant commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Employment Security and was a past president of the Tennessee Chapter of the International Association of Personnel and Employment Services.

He had recently relocated to Texas to supervise divisional sales for R.L. Lavin & Sons of Chicago.

He was the son of the late Bruce Fred Detman.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Lane-Detman, Chattanooga; his mother and stepfather, Loni and Don Novick, Bradenton, Fla.; one sister, Sherri Canton; one half-sister, Anna Marie Johnson; and three half-brothers, Mike, David, and Anthony Novick, all of Flint.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chattanooga branch of the American Cancer Society, or IAPES.

Lester Dobson
Lester Franklin Dobson Jr. of Hixson died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 63.

Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

H.P. Dunlap
Col. Herbert P. Dunlap, a retired McCallie School administrator and former Chattanooga city commissioner, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 95.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Lea Clower officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church Friday between noon and 1 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to McCallie School or 'Changed Lives,' P.O. Box 100, Chattanooga, TN 37401.

Arrangements are by the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Leola Franklin
Leola Franklin died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 88.

Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Bill Galloway
Jesse William "Bill' Galloway died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999. He was 51.

A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Community Seventh-day Adventist Church with pastor Mark Bresee officiating.

An additional service will be held Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain.

There will be no visitation at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.

Arilee Graham
Arilee Graham of Rossville died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at his home. He was 58.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Stanley Green officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Nancy Harden
Nancy Pauline Harden died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at her home. She was 71.

Mrs. Harden was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, and had worked as a restaurant waitress.

Survivors include one son, Tommy Harden, Birchwood; three daughters, Pauline Montgomery, Alabama, and Louise Braddam and Gail Kerns, both of Chattanooga; two brothers, Hutie Harden, Georgetown, and Johnny Harden, Ooltewah; two sisters, Fannie Contor, Harrison, and Marine Roarke, Hixson; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Landon Harden and the Rev. Robert Hale officiating.

Burial will be in Grasshopper cemetery.

Jack Horner
Jack N. Horner of Hixson died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at his home. He was 52.

Mr. Horner was the owner of Skill Craft Industry and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jake Horner, and a brother, Steve Horner.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Horner; one son, Tracey Horner; one daughter, Aimee Horner, all of Hixson; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with pastor Marc Bewley officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton County Memorial Park, Soddy-Daisy.

Visitation will be today after 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 7634 Gann Rd., Hixson, TN 37343.

Rachelle Johnson
Rachelle B. Johnson of Westminster, Md., died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999. She was 80.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Westminster.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Church of Christ Building Fund, 67 Madison St., Westminster, MD 21157.

Lillian Jones
Lillian Lankford Jones died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Mel Crosson officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Merle King
Merle King of Soddy-Daisy died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at her home. She was 85.

She was a member of Flattop Independent Church, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, and Asebi Court 36.

Survivors include her husband, O.G. King; one son, Edward 'Speedy' King, Soddy-Daisy; three grandchildren and three nieces.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with pastor David McNabb officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alhambra Shrine Transportation Fund, 1000 Alhambra Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37421.
