Bill Galloway
Jesse William 'Bill' Galloway died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999. He was 51.

He was a member of Hamilton Community Seventh-day Adventist Church and the American Pool Association.

Survivors include two sons, Ryan Jesse Galloway and William Shaun Galloway, both of Ormond Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Kimberly Waller, Andalusia, Ala.; one sister, Rebecca Grice, Montgomery, Ala.; and a grandson.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Community Seventh-day Adventist Church with pastor Mark Bresee officiating.

An additional service will be held Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain.

There will be no visitation at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.

Arilee Graham
Arilee Graham of Rossville died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at his home. He was 58.

He was a native of Chattanooga, a Baptist, and a member of the Eagles Club.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Graham; two sons, Marty Graham, Chickamauga, Ga., and Lee Graham, Soddy-Daisy; two daughters, Tracy Swaggerty, Rossville, and Kym Davis, Soddy-Daisy; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway with the Rev. Stanley Green officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Leo Grant
Leo W. Grant Jr. of Red Bank died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 70.

Graveside services will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, Tenn., with the Rev. Larry K. Dipbole officiating.

Arrangements are by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Nancy Harden
Nancy Pauline Harden died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at her home. She was 71.

Mrs. Harden was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, and had worked as a restaurant waitress.

Survivors include one son, Tammy Harden, Birchwood; three daughters, Pauline Montgomery, Alabama, and Louise Braddam and Gail Kerns, both of Chattanooga; two brothers, Hutie Harden, Georgetown, and Johnny Harden, Ooltewah; two sisters, Fannie Contor, Harrison, and Marine Roarke, Hixson; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Landon Harden and the Rev. Robert Hale officiating.

Burial will be in Grasshopper cemetery.

Henry Heffell
Henry Robert Heffell of Chattanooga, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998. He was 52.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Fairfield Heffell; one daughter, Renea Crabtree, Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Donna Lee Allen, Ringgold, Ga.; two stepsons, Edward McDonald, Rossville, and Dennis McDonald, Chattanooga; nine grandsons.

Private services were held.

Mary Hendrix
Mary Gladys Hendrix of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 89.

She was born in Waterloo, Ala., and had lived most of her life in Memphis before moving to Fort Oglethorpe a year ago.

She was a retired L.P.N., having worked at John Gaston City Hospital in Memphis for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hendrix.

Survivors include four sons, Doyle Ellis, Ringgold, Charles Ellis, Mount. Pleasant, Miss., Conrad Ellis, Jonesboro, Ark., and Eliza Lynn Ellis, Horn Lake, Miss.; two daughters, Mary Pat Hudnall, Smyrna, Tenn., and Joan Blackburn, Walls, Miss.; one brother, Clairmont Dearen, Memphis; one sister, Lauerene White, Memphis; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The body has been taken to Roller Citizen Funeral Home in West Memphis, Ark., for services.

Local arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.

Margaret Hill
Margaret Hill died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 84.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert C. Walton officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The body will be at the church today one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Sibyl Jernigan
Sibyl A. Jernigan died Monday. Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 86.

Services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Dewayne Cole officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

Rachelle Johnson
Rachelle B. Johnson of Westminster, Md., died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999. She was 80.

Survivors include one son, Col. C. Bradford Johnson, Hixson, Tenn.; one daughter, Rebecca J. Parson, Westminster; one sister, Mary Bass, Nashville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Westminster.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Church of Christ Building Fund, 67 Madison St., Westminster MD 21157.

Lillian Jones
Lillian Lankford Jones died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital.

She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jones, and a sister, Sally P. McIntosh.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Pitman and Kelly Veazey, both of Chattanooga; one son, Dan C. Jones, Wytheville, Va.; three sisters, Neuiah Duncan, Louise Miller and Billie Joyce Kovacevich, all of Chattanooga; two brothers, Robert Lankford, Eaton Rapids, Mich., and Harry Lankford, Belton, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Mel Crosson officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dennis Lyle
Dennis Lamar 'Red' Lyle Sr. died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 30.

He was a member of World's Church of the Living God, was employed by Hunter Mortgage Co. Inc., and was a member of the 3397th Garrison Support Unit.

He was a graduate of Brainerd High School and attended UTC.

He was the grandson of the late Edna Mae Lyle and the brother of the late Ledale Lyle.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon W. Lyle; children, Ariel and Dennis Jr.; his mother, Evelyn Lyle; father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. David Lee Lyle Jr.; two brothers, Michael D. Lyle and Kelvin E. Lyle; one sister, Marcy L. Bradford, all of Chattanooga.

Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at World's Church of the Living God with Bishop W.C. Hunter officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Clarence McEntire
Clarence Eugene 'Mac' McEntire of Long Beach, Calif., and formerly of Chattanooga, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, in a veterans hospital in California. He was 72.

He was a decorated veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Jenny Wilson and Shana Gann, both of Chattanooga; four sons, Robert McEntire, California, Tom McEntire, Texas, and Randy and Steve McEntire, both of Oklahoma; two sisters, Bess Treadway, LaFayette, Ga., and Mary Simpson, Ringgold, Ga.; two brothers, Bob McEntire, Long Beach, and Bud McEntire, Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. McEntire will be cremated in Long Beach.

Services will be held at a later date in Chattanooga.
