Daniel Bodkin
Daniel Card 'Dawg' Bodkin of Chickamauga, Ga., died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 39.

A native of Knoxville, he was a member of Brainerd Presbyterian Church and had been employed by Wingfield Scale Co., for several years.

Mr. Bodkin was an artist and was a former member of the American Bikers, active toward education and also the Association of American Artists.

He was the son of the late Edward B. Bodkin.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Jo Bodkin; goddaughter, Peggie Burke, Chattanooga; mother, Ann Card Bodkin, Chattanooga; two brothers, John E. Bodkin, Silver Spring, Md., and Thomas E. Bodkin, Chattanooga; two nephews and one niece.

A memorial services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Ragon officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Buchanan
Mary Buchanan died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 82.

She was a member of New Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Erlanger Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Herman Buchanan, Chattanooga; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held Saturday at noon at New Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Whiteside officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Ada Burgess
Ada Burgess died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 81.

She was a 40-year member of Highland Park Baptist Church and was retired from American National Bank.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Burgess; brother, Norman Decker; and sister, Freida Kimbrell.

Survivors include two nieces, Carol Kellogg, Soddy-Daisy, and Bette Mobley, Lexington, Ky.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Forest Hills cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Ruby Chadwick
Ruby V. Chadwick of Flintstone, Ga., died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in an area nursing facility. She was 81.

Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Lookout cemetery.

Arrangements are by J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home, Chickamauga, Ga.

Nathaniel Clay
Nathaniel R. Clay Sr. died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his home. He was 55.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Tucker Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Hathaway officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The body will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Larry Cook
Larry Crawford Cook of Chattanooga, formerly of Englewood, Tenn., died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 54.

A native of McMinn County, he had been employed as a truck driver with the Coca-Cola Corp., served in the United States Reserve, and was a member of the AFL-CIO and Lodge 920 F&AM;, North Sand Mountain.

Survivors include two daughters, Denise Cook, Chattanooga, and Tonya Johnson, Alabama; two brothers, Robert H. Cook, Chattanooga, and Dale D. Cook, Englewood; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mars Hill cemetery with Minister Derian Fontenot officiating.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens, Tenn.

Otis Daniel
Otis Daniel died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Lucille Elliott
Lucille Kinnamon Elliott died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 88.

Services will be today at 11:30 a.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Childress officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. in Clark's Grove cemetery, Maryville.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Harold Evans
Harold 'Big Man' Evans died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 54.

He was a member of Christian Fellowship C.P. Church, where he served on the Usher board, and a former employee of U.S. Pipe.

Survivors include his wife, Earlean Evans; one daughter, Vivian Evans-Jackson; one stepdaughter, Debra Ragland, Atlanta; stepson, Tommy Ragland, Chattanooga; one sister, Bertha Lee Bailey, Athens, Ala.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Harris Toney and other ministers officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.

The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Visitation will be today after 10 a.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Rev. Kendall Felder
The Rev. Kendall Felder died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at his home. He was 83.

He was the interim minister of Greater Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Felder; two sons, Leon Felder, Nashville, and the Rev. Nigal Felder, Fort Washington, Md.; one sister, Meoshia Blount; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be Saturday at noon at Greater Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Ison, the Rev. Sam C. Lewis and other ministers officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until noon at the church on Saturday.

Edgar Goins
Edgar Goins died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at his home. He was 51.

He was a longtime resident of Chattanooga and a Baptist.

Survivors include his parents, Virgil and Anna Bell Goins, Ooltewah; one son, Eddie Goins, Apison, Tenn.; one daughter, Tammy Goins, Ringgold, Ga.; three brothers, Larry, James and Ernie Goins, all of Ooltewah; five sisters, Susie Evans, Chattanooga, Glenda Marshall and Joyce Benton, Ooltewah, and Diane Walker and Phyllis Headrick, Ringgold, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Ron Norman officiating.

Burial will be in Old McDonald cemetery.

Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret Hill
Margaret Hill died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, in a local nursing home.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.
