William Adair
William Clifford Adair died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at the home of his sister.
He was a Baptist and was retired from the Georgia Department of Correction.
Survivors include one sister, Annie Tatum, Chattanooga; one brother, James Curtis Adair; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Trammell Chapel of Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence O. Twiggs officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles Ball
Charles J. 'C.J.' Ball died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, in a local nursing home. He was 69.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne L. Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
The body will be at Taylor Funeral Home today after 9 a.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service .
Ellen Bennett
Ellen 'Kitty' Bennett died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at the home of her daughter. She was 71.
She retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and was vice president of the Tenants Association with Gateway Towers.
She was the widow of Gordon Harry Bennett.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy McCarter; one sister, Dorothy Creek, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at First Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Steil officiating.
There will be no visitation at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Buchanan
Mary Buchanan died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in a local hospital.

Nathaniel Clay
Nathaniel R. Clay Sr. died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his home. He was 55.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed by Buster Brown Apparel.
He was a son of the late Emmitt and Sedalia Clay and a member of Tucker Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Prince Clay; one son, Nathaniel R. Clay Jr., Atlanta; two daughters, Monica Glenn and VanNessa Carr, both of Atlanta; two sisters, Pauline Staten and Ruby M. Holland; and a brother, Archie Clay, all of Chattanooga; and six grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Tucker Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Hathaway officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
The body will be at the funeral home after noon today and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Harold Evans
Harold 'Big Man' Evans died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 54.

Rev. Kendall Felder
The Rev. Kendall Felder died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at his home. He was 83.

Eva Foster
Eva Mae Foster died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 91.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. H.L. Maples and the Rev. Buck Harbin officiating.
Burial will be in Boyston cemetery.
Irvin Frederick
Irvin Frederick of Las Vegas, Nev., died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999. He was 85.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in Granny Walker cemetery in Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., with the Rev. Hurbert Chancey and the Rev. Ricky Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.
Oliver Hamill
Oliver Wats Hamill of Weldon, N.C., died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at his home. He was 80.
The former Chattanooga resident was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Dixie Portland Flour Mill after 38 years of service.
He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II and was the recipient of a bronze star, among other awards.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy McKeehan-Kruzich, Tampa, Fla., and Helen Lowery, Chattanooga; one son, James Van Hamill, West Palm Beach; two brothers, Burley Hamill and Ralph Hamill, Weldon; one sister, Alice Aycock, Weldon; and six grandchildren.
Services and burial were in Weldon.

Nellie Holcomb
Nellie M. Holcomb, a member of Midway Baptist Church, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 100.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Kenneth Brown and the Rev. Ronnie Childress officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
Betty Ingle
Betty Ruth Ingle of East Ridge died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was 70.
The Rome, Ga., native was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was a pastor's wife serving equally with her husband, the late Lamar Aubrey Ingle, in churches in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. She was also a singer and musician.
She was the mother of the late Nathan Ingle.
Survivors include one son, Michael Ingle, Rocky Face, Ga.; one brother, Vance D. Ivey, Rome; two sisters, Ida B. Perry, Rossville, and Margaret E. Payne, Rome; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. William Perry and the Rev. Tommy Crider officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
Melber McIlveene
Melber McIlveene died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in a local health care center. He was 78.
A native of Emerson, Ark., Mr. McIlveene had lived most of his life in ElDorado, Ark., before moving to Chattanooga last year.
He retired from Southwestern Bell after 42 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member and past commander of the John C. Carroll VFW Post 1243, the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club and Parkview Baptist Church in ElDorado.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian McIlveene; two sons, Ron McIlveene, Chattanooga, and Rick McIlveene, Rock Spring, Ga.; one daughter, Lorinda Himes, Lulling, La.; one sister, Morene Harris, Lulling; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be held Saturday in ElDorado, Ark.
Arrangements are by Young's Funeral Home in ElDorado.
Local arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
Lendora Miller
Lendora Miller died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at her home. She was 68.
She was a member of Thankful Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Waddle; five sisters, Eliza Russell, Ernestine Holman, Willie Lee Lewis and Doris Binford, Huntsville, Ala., Rebecca Brown, Oakland, Calif.; and one brother, John Calvin Bailey, Huntsville.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Thankful Baptist Church with elder Oscar L. Lockhart Sr. and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial cemetery.
The body will be at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home after noon Friday.
