Mary Morgan
Mary Williams Morgan, formerly of Chattanooga, died Saturday, Jan, 9, 1999, in Philadelphia, Pa.
She was a former member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, DeDay Williams Sr., and Bedie Havis Williams, and a sister, Nora Williams.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Morgan, Cleveland, Tenn., and Flora Morgan, Loudon, Tenn.; four sisters, Margie Braxton, Flora Richardson, Anna Person, and Eller B. Humphrey, all of Philadelphia; one brother, DeDay Williams Jr., Ooltewah.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
Arrangements are by Hankins Funeral Home, Philadelphia.

William Perkins
William Perkins died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 53.
He was a member of Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, where he received the President's Unit Citation Award, the National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnamese Campaign Medal.
Survivors include one brother, Harold Haynes, Brooklyn; three sisters, Delma Brooks, Carole Flint, both of Chattanooga and Brenda Ithier, Philadelphia; one aunt, Ida Parker, Chattanooga.
Services will be Friday at noon at Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Calhoun and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family will assemble at 610 Mooremont Terrace prior to the funeral service.
Bryan Pope
Bryan Pope of Red Bank died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 83.
The Portland, Tenn., native was a retired electrical supervisor with DuPont after 40 years and was a member and elder of White Oak Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Emile Jackson, Cleveland, Tenn.; two sons, Steven M. Pope, Harrison, Tenn., and Tom Pope, Red Bank; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with ministers Jimmy Eaton and J.C. Watkins officiating.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
Edna Reno
Edna Gallahan Reno of Soddy-Daisy, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 89.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Albert Goss officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton County Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arthur Robertson
A graveside service for former Chattanooga resident Arthur Guy Robertson of North Miami, Fla., will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills cemetery with the Rev. Larry Summerour officiating.
Mr. Robertson died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, in Miami, Fla.
Patricia Shull
Patricia N. Shull of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 64.
Services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with minister William Nave officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
George Starnes
George T. Starnes died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 83.
Mr. Starnes was a Greyhound retiree and worked as a sales representative for Advertising Ideas up until the time of his death.
He was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jane C. Starnes; one daughter, Janice Garcia, and two granddaughters, all of Madrid, Spain.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Hall officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bessie Strickland
Bessie J. Strickland died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in an Athens, Tenn., hospital. She was 89.
She was a native of McMinn County, Tenn., a Baptist and a former cafeteria worker with the Chattanooga city schools.
She was the widow of James W. Strickland.
Survivors include one son, Donald W. Strickland, Sekiv, Wash.; one brother, Fred Lingerfeld, Newnan, Ga,.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Tiffany Sylvester
Tiffany Renee Sylvester, infant daughter of Michelle and Tony Sylvester died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in a local hospital.
She was the granddaughter of the late Donna Yeomans.
Survivors other than her parents include one sister, Britney Sylvester; grandparents, Ronald and Patricia Sylvester, Chattanooga and Raymond Yeomans, Jacksonville, Fla.
Services will be private.
There will be no visitation at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Ernest Tigner
Ernest 'Lamont' Tigner Jr. of Oakdale, La., and a former resident of Chattanooga, died there Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in Oakdale, La. He was 47.

John Wells
John Winston Wells, who retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 67.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Hofstetter and chaplain Larry Wirth officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery, with full military honors being provided by Robins Air Force Base.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Clifford Williams
Clifford Julian Williams of Monroe, N.C., died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, in a hospital there. He was 66.
Formerly of Chattanooga, he was the son of the late Ellis Hayden and Gladys Mae Thompson Williams, an Army veteran and was retired from the printing industry.
Survivors include one son, Clifford J. Williams Jr. of Georgia; and a sister, Barbara Coots of Monroe.
Memorial services and burial were held in Monroe.
Arrangements were made by Heritage Funeral Home of Indian Trail, Monroe, N.C.

Elizabeth Adair
ETOWAH, Tenn. - Elizabeth 'Lib' Adair died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, in a Cordele, Ga., hospital. She was 73.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Etowah and was a registered nurse, having trained at Baptist Hospital in Memphis.
Survivors include one sister, Bertie Adair, Etowah; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be today at 2 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Griffith officiating.
