DAYTON, Tenn. - Billy Adams died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 50.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating.
Barbara Choate
SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - Barbara Lofty Choate died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 67.
Mrs. Choate was retired from Lodge Manufacturing Co., and a member of South Pittsburg First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Choate, and her parents, William Franklin and Louise Collins Lofty.
Survivors include one daughter, Myra Choate, Chattanooga; one son, Tom Choate, Oliver Springs, Tenn.; and four grandsons.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, with the Rev. Jeff Lane and the Rev. Tommy Hensley officiating.
Burial will be in New Hope cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. CST at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Ronnie Coffey
MONTEAGLE, Tenn. - Ronnie G. Coffey died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a hospital in Tullahoma, Tenn. He was 54.
He was a truck driver and was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Grace and Raymond Knott.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Mae Coffey, Monteagle; three stepsons, Paul C. Campbell, South Carolina, Tim Campbell, Sewanee, Tenn., and Dewy Layne, Tracy City; two stepdaughters, Marelene Layne and Marilyn McAlister, Monteagle; one sister, Janie Reid, Kentucky; three brothers, Benny and Bobby Coffey, Tracy City, and Jack Coffey, Kentucky; and six grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home in Monteagle with the Rev. Mark Ernest Phipps officiating.
Burial will be in Summerfield cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bonnie Felton
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Bonnie R. Felton died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at the University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Spring City with the Rev. Steve Pierson officiating.
Reathel Gray
DECATUR, Tenn. - Reathel E. 'Sonny' Gray, a retired Navy veteran, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 61.
He was the son of the late Steve Douglas and Dema Rose Lindsey Gray.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Gray, Decatur; three sons, Steve Gray, Carthage, Tenn.; Ed Gray, Hermitage, Tenn., and Kent Gray, California; three stepsons, Jimmy, Donald, and Dwayne Childs, all of Decatur; one daughter, Teresa Gentry, Apison, Tenn.; two brothers, Nobel Gray, Marengo, Ind., and Joe Clemons, Hammond, Ind.; four sisters, Jean Massey, Eckerty, Ind., Sue Redden and Zelma Logsdon, both of Marengo, and Ann Bentsen, Louisville, Ky.; nine grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 10 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Hutsell, the Rev. Joe Kemper and the Rev. Mike Couch officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Plowman cemetery in Apison, Tenn.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN.
Hallie James
GRANDVIEW, Tenn. - Hallie P. James died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in a hospital in Crossville, Tenn. She was 73.
A native of Ozone, Tenn., she was a longtime resident of Grandview and taught at the Pineview Elementary School for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon James.
Survivors include two sons, Steve James, Clarksville, Tenn., and William James, Grandview; one daughter, Carol James, Grandview; one sister, Yvonne Parham Rice, Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City.
Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Fannie Jones
WHITWELL, Tenn. - Fannie Isabell Hudson Jones of the Cedar Springs community died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999.
She retired from her teaching position in the Marion County School System after 28 years.
She was a member of Whitwell First Baptist Church, had taught Sunday school for over 50 years and was a member of the Cherokee Campers Club.
Survivors include her husband, Loyd P. Jones; two sons, Jimmy Ray Jones and Johnny Hoyt Jones; two daughters, Delores Jean Rogers and Joyce Sue Holland, all of Whitwell; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. CST at Hooper Funeral Home with Wayne Wills and Tony DeYoung officiating.
Burial will be in Whitwell Memorial cemetery.
Visitation will be today and Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m. at the funeral home.

ATHENS, Tenn. - Frances J. King died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in an area hospital.

Hoyt McKeehan
ATHENS, Tenn. - Hoyt E. McKeehan died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his home. He was 83.
He was a Baptist and had served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II. He was a retired molder from Athens Stove Works and a former night watchman at McKeehan Chair Co.
Survivors include one sister, Sarah M. Sitzlar Decker, Clearwater Fla.; one brother, D.E. 'Shimmy' McKeehan; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 8 p.m. at Jerry Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. William Johnson officiating.
Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

SWEETWATER, Tenn. - Cordelia Wells died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, in an area nursing home. She was 86.
She was a member of Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sweetwater.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Augustus Crawford officiating.
Burial will be in Sweetwater Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
