WHITWELL, Tenn. - Olavean Dye died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 68.
She attended the Church of God.
Survivors include four daughters, Gloria Pickett and Katherine Dye, Whitwell, Paula Davis, Pikeville, Tenn., and Pam Cummings, Fernandina Beach, Fla.; one son, Herbert A. Brown, Chattanooga; one brother, Andrew Simmons, Rome, Ga.; one sister, Martha Pickett, Whitwell; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. William Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Pickett cemetery.
Bonnie Felton
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Bonnie R. Felton died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at the University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
She was born in Rockbridge County, Va., and had lived in Spring City since 1967.
She was a gospel singer/songwriter and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Felton; one son, Michael Felton, Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Charles Ramsey, Tampa; one sister, June Wright, Franklin, N.C.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Spring City with the Rev. Steve Pierson officiating.
Exie Furmidge
ATHENS, Tenn. - Exie Mae Bennett Furmidge died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 89.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Oran Creasman officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Ladie Gray
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Ladie M. Gray died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999 in an area health care facility. She was 87.
Graveside services will be today at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kevin Colvard officiating.
Arrangements are by Grissom Funeral Home in Cleveland.
Ethel Lacy
SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - Ethel Lacy, formerly of Henagar, Ala., died Saturday Jan. 9, 1999, in Jasper, Tenn. She was 92.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. CST at Kerby Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Wilks officiating.
Burial will be in the Henagar Community cemetery.
Yong Lee
CHARLESTON, Tenn. - Yong Jim Lee died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 87.
He served as a minister for 48 years with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was currently a member of Collegedale Korean Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He was the widower of Bok Jo Lee.
Survivors include seven children, Jack Lee, Charleston, James Lee, Guam, Laurel Im, Dalton, Ga., Grace Chung, Orange County, Calif.; Penny Kim, Riverside, Calif., Melba Kumar, Diamond Bar, Calif., and Judy Lee, Santa Monica, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Chang Lee officiating.
Verna Stokes
BIRCHWOOD, Tenn. - Verna M. Childs Stokes died Monday Jan, 11, 1999 at the family home. She was 81.
She was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Luther Stokes; one daughter, "Tootie' Staton, Birchwood; three sons, Earl Stokes, Georgetown, Tenn., Don Stokes, Cleveland, Tenn., and Hoyt Stokes, Birchwood; two sisters, Dean Fortner, and Dorothy Prentice; one brother, Creed Childs, Birchwood; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Buckner-Rush Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. David Evans officiating.
Burial will be in the McInturf cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruby Ward
DAYTON, Tenn. - Ruby Evelyn Ward died Sunday, May 10, 1999, at the home of her daughter. She was 85.
She was a graduate of Rhea Central High School, had taught school for several years and had worked at Rhea County Nursing Home.
She was a member of Graysville Seventh-day Adventist Church and the widow of Charlie Lee Ward.
Survivors include four daughters, Ruth Motes, Dayton; Naomi Davis, Sevierville, Tenn., Linda Hanon, Ringgold, Ga., and Betty Brown, Chattanooga; four sons, Charles E., Arvil E. and Felix L. Ward, all of Dayton, and Bobby G. Ward, Graysville; three sisters, Beulah McGhee and Lila McKillen, both of Battle Creek, Mich., and Oleta Whitfield, Dayton; 43 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor David Jones and Everett Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Cove cemetery in Dayton.
Visitation will be today after 4 p.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

SWEETWATER, Tenn. - Cordelia Wells died Sunday afternoon in an area nursing home. She was 86.

She was a longtime employee of Standard-Coosa-Thatcher.
Survivors include her husband, Orlando Barber; two sisters, Mary Linda White, New York, and Faith Burk, Battle Creek, Mich.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Forest Hills cemetery with pastor Oscar Lockhart officiating.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.
