Hugh M. Miller, 69, of LaFollette, died on Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by parents Alf and Mable Irvin Miller; sister Margaret Queener and brother Leon Miller.
He is survived by wife Gladys Miller of LaFollette; son Michael Miller of Knoxville; brother H.A. Miller of LaFollette and Robert Lee Miller of Oak Ridge; sister Viriginia Lay of Caryville and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 23 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Queener officiating.
Interment was in the Campbell County Memorial Gardens.

Odessa Lassie Miller
Odessa Lassie Miller, 84, of Caryville, died on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Campbell County.
She was preceded in death by husband Diance Rose Miller; parents Horace and Hattie Foust Hood; brothers Johnny and Jim Hood.
She is survived by sons Terry Miller of Jacksboro, Danny Miller of Jacksboro; daughter Lucille Kennedy of Lake City, Sandra Gross of Jacksboro, Cindy Jordan of Jacksboro; daughter Mary Ruth Byrge of Caryville; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brother Elmer Hood of Jacksboro.
Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 31 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating.
Interment was in the Jacksboro Cemtery.

Ernest Marson (Cat Tooth) Owens
Ernest Marson (Cat Tooth) Owens, 83, of LaFollette, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002 at his home.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by parents Elias Marson Owens and Minnie Johnson Owens; sister Lorene Kitts.
He is survived by two sons Roland Owens of Michigan, Teddy Owens of Sevierville, Tenn., two daughters Mary Lou Mosier of Kansas and Wanda Carol Kujat of Michigan; sisters Sue Ray of LaFollette, Anna Chadwell of Layton, Utah, Pauline Hurst and Roberta Leach, both of Corkin, Ky.; brothers Arnold Owens of Hazel Park of Michigan and Jim Owens of Alberta, Alabama.
Funeral services were private.

James Harvey (Bud) Ridenour
James Harvey (Bud) Ridenour, 80, of LaFollette, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002 at Jellico Hospital.
He was preceded in death by parents Leonard and Parley Ridenour and three brothes Billy, Willard and Hugh Ridenour.
He is survived by sisters Lillie Bolton and Sarah Ridenour, both of LaFollette and Azilee Neely and Susie Gregory, both of Knoxville.
Funeral services were in the Locust Stump Cemetery.

Artie Mae Seiber
Artie Mae Seiber, 83, of Lake City, died on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
She was a member of the Clinch River Baptist Church in Lake City and was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church in Lake City and was employed for many years at the Magnet Mills in Clinton and later worked for other companies in LaFollette.
She was preceded in death by parents Walter G. and Nina Shillings Snow; husband Elmer O. Seiber; brothers Ray H. Snow and Jimmy D. Snow; two sisters Maggie Moore and Margie Martin, Cora Lee Duncan Seiber, Raleigh C. Seiber, Flora Seiber, Alice Seiber, Marie Perry and Gladys Daugherty.
She is survived by daughter Barbara Seiber of Lake City; sisters Faye Burton of LaFollette, Mary Griffith of Greenboro, North Cal., Wanda Seiber, Maxie Braswell and Jean Snow.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 22 in the Chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Tom Byrge will officiate.
Interment was in the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.

Rev. William Conley Shepherd
Rev. William Conley Shepherd, 72, of LaFollette, died on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002 at the East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville.
He was a member of the Grantsboro Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by grandson Jerad Hollifield and great-grandson Andrew Long; parents John and Stella Cooper Shepherd; brothers Dausie, Albert, Floyd, Earl, John and Tom.
He is survived by wife Dean Shepherd of LaFollette; son Larry Dwain Shepherd of Knoxville; daughter Cherry Hollifield of Jacksboro; daughter Connie Robertson of Orlando, Fla., Judy Dial of LaFollette; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother Wendell Shepherd of Danridge; sister Cora Cox of Mel burn, Fla.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the Grantsboro Baptist Church with Rev. David Shepherd; brother Jerry Dagley and Rev. Paul Hunley officating. Interment
was in the Grantsboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at Gidenon.

Mossie Alma (Hatfield) Smith
Mossie Alma (Hatfield) Smith, 87, of Vevay, IN., formerly of Newcomb, died on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2002 at the King's Daughters Hospital in Madison, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Smith.
She is survived by two half-brothers Sid Hatfield of LaFollette, Dallas Hatfield of Cleveland, Ohio; two half-sisters Georgia Zenker of LaFollette and Mary L. Zenker of Collinwood.
Funeral services were Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Chapel of Harp Funeral Home with Rev. Durand Dixon officiating.
Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery.
