Tennessee, U.S., Delayed Birth Records, 1869-1909
Katherine Louise Watson
Katherine Louise Watson, 41, of LaFollette, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center of Knoxville. She was member of the Glade Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.C. and Mildred Grant and by sister Janet Lynn Grant.
She is survived by husband, David Watson; sons Jason Watson and Adam Watson, all of LaFollette; brothers Gary Grant of Harlan, Ky., and Sam Grant of Nashville.
Funeral services were held Friday at Walters Chapel with Rev. LeRoy Braden officiating. Interment icon was in the Glade Springs Cemetery.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Carl Ward
Carl Ward, 78, of Briceville, died on May 23, 2002 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was along standing member and deacon of Tennessee Hollow Baptist Church and he was a World War II Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by wife Gen Smiddy Ward; parents, Rev. Lewis and Stella Ward; sisters Randy Ward Wilson and Verda Ward; and brother Cecil Ward.
He is survived by wife Asilee McGhee Ward of Briceville; daughter Winifred Dison of Briceville; stepdaughters Georgia Golden of Briceville, Winfrey Hayes of Briceville, Audrey Tucker of Vasper, Savannah Eagleton of Briceville and Sue Taylor of Cherry Bottom; stepson, Calvin Craig of Medford; brother Clifton Ward of Lake City; four great-grandsons; 16 stepgrandchildren and many stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 26, at the Tennessee Hollow Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Hawkins, Rev. Johnny Owens and Rev. Bo Perkins officiating. Interment icon was in the Circle Cemetery in Briceville with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sun Pun (Yi) Begliutti
Sun Pun (Yi) Begliutti, 55, of Jellico, died on July 27, 2002, at her home.
She was preceded in death by father, Myong No Yi and brother, Sun No Yi of Taejon, South Korea.
She is survived by husband, David A. Begliutti of Jellico; mother, Kun Ye So; brother, Tok No Yi; and sisters, Sun Cha Yi and Hyon Suk Yi of South Korea.
A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Pleasant View, Ky., on Sunday, Aug. 4, with the Rev. Ward Wilson officiating.
Llewellyn's Funeral Home in Jellico and Littlebrook Crematory in Maryville are in charge of arrangements.

Howard Thomas Brown
Howard Thomas Brown, 66, of Jacksboro, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a member of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Joyce Brown of Jacksboro; step-sons, Randy Lowe of Knoxville, Mike Lowe of Spartanburg, S.C., Billy Lowe of Lincolnton, N.C., and Ricky Lowe of Jacksboro; daughters, Cynthia Kay Brown of Jacksboro, Mildred Michelle Brown of Knoxville and Amanda Brown of Jacksboro; step-daughter, Lorri Layel of Mt. Holly, N.C.; three grandsons; brothers, Joe Brown of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Bob Brown of Lake City.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 25, at Cross Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment icon was in the Campbell Memorial Gardens with military Honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Louie Buttram
Louie Buttram, 82, of Jacksboro, died on Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Baptist Medical Center of Knoxville. He was a member of the Oneida Church of God and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by wife, Zell Buttram; parents, James and Nannie Sexton Buttram; brothers, Fred, Kelly, Archie, and Marion Buttram; sisters, Gertie Byrd, Isabell Barnes, Nancy Cotton, and Mary Lee Sexton.
He is survived by sons, Eddie Buttram of Jacksboro, Darrell Buttram of LaFollette, and Willie Buttram of LaFollette; daughters, Gertie Nelson of Chandon, Ohio, Virginia Rogers of LaFollette, Judy Rogan of Cleveland, Ohio, Kathy Hyden of Lake City, Phyllis Johnson of LaFollette and Betty Herron of LaFollette; 31 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Buttram of Petros.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Howard officiating. Interment icon will be in Peaceful Rose Garden Cemetery in Helenwood.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Daisy Marie Davis
Daisy Marie Davis, 93, of Jellico, died on Monday, July 15, 2002, at the family residence.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bert Davis; mother and father, Daniel and Almedia Baird Lawson; brother, John L. Lawson; sister, Millie Lawson; and one great-granddaughter.
She is survived by sons, Robert (Bob) Davis, David Davis; daughters, Dean Davis of Jellico, Patsy Widenor of Jacksboro, Nancy Hudson of Houston,  Texas, Wilma Hanson of Des Plaines, Ill., and Louise Carroll of Jellico; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 17, at the Llewellyn Funeral Home Chapel in Jellico with the Rev. Bobby Hatfield officiating. Interment icon was in the Little Elk Cemetery.
Llewellyn Funeral Home in Jellico was in charge of arrangements.

Paula E. Hess
Paula E. Hess, 62, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2002, in LaFollette.
She is survived by husband, Jack A. Hess; sons, Bill and Scott Rawlings; stepson, Mark A. Hess; stepdaughter, Kathy Neumaier; sister, Jackie Edwards and Pam Ziebold; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 6 at Schmidt-Dhonau Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to be made to the American Cancer Society.

Roger Darrell Hicks
Roger Darrell Hicks, 65, of Wooldridge, died on Friday, July 19, 2002, at the Jellico Community Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by mother, Lillie Hicks; and brother, Clifford Bryant.
He is survived by wife, Betty Lucille Hicks; father, Clyde J. Hicks; daughters, Tammy Dempsey of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sara Hicks of Woodridge, Willa Collins of Oneida; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, at the Llewellyn Funeral Home in Jellico with the Rev. Francis Dople Jr. and Jerry Yancey officiating. Interment icon was in the Douglas Cemetery.
Llewellyn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
