Brenda Sue Yancey Boshears
Brenda Sue Yancey Boshears, age 60 of Caryville died Jan. 28, 2004 at her home. She was a member of the Caryville First Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was always the first to help anyone in need. Her courage through her disabling illness has been an inspiration to her family and many friends. She served Campbell County for 42 years in the positions of Campbell County Circuit Court Clerk and County Court Clerk. The daughter of the late Arthur and Truie King Yancey.
Preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Boshears; sister, Shirley Yancey Raines; brothers-in-law, Hoyel (Bud) Phillips, Pioneer, Otta Lee Bunch and Floyd Boshears; sisters-in-law, Joyce Bunch and Margie Boshears.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Lynn and David Kitts; special grandson, Cody Ray Kitts; sister, Rochelle Phillips, Pioneer; brother-in-law, Esco Raines and wife, Penny, of Caryville; nephews, Ronald Pete Phillips and wife, Sue Phillips, Pioneer, Scott Phillips and wife, Derita, Pioneer, Daryl Raines and wife, Virginia, Caryville; nieces, Sandra Sproles and husband, Jack, Pioneer, Stacy Richesin and husband, Mike, Sweetwater, special great niece, Kristi Russ, Pioneer; special aunts, Mabel Thompson and Pina Jeffers, both of Huntsville; a host of great nephews, nieces,and a great great nephew; many cousins and friends. Special co-workers, Debbie Byrd, Angie Jessie, Calvin Monday, Marsha Boccia, Brenda Seiber, Linda Petrey and Pat Shetterly.
Funeral services were Jan. 31 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. James West officiating. Pallbearers were Donnie Phillips, Preston Phillips, Ronnie Phillips, Scott Phillips, Daryl Raines, Michael Richesin, Brian Russ and Jack Sproles. Interment icon was in the Campbell Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Campbell and Scott County Cancer Center in memory of Brenda S. Boshears. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

James W. Boshears
James. W. Boshears, age 60 of Milton, Fl died Jan. 16, 2004. He was a native of Turley who had resided in Northwest Florida for the past 42 years. He was a veteran of the  Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Lou Boshears; sons, Johanthon Boshears and Kenneth Kolb; daughters, Shawna Upshaw, Kay Parker, Karen Dorsey; brother, Brian Boshears; sister, Sue Lobertini; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Jan. 20 at Donnie Sewell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duke Barrow and Rev. John Salter officiating. Interment icon was in Serenity Gardens Cemetery. Donnie Sewell Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Naomi Mae Byrge
Naomi Mae Byrge, age 80 of Caryville died Jan. 31, 2004 at the St. Mary’s Residential Hospice in Knoxville. She was a member of the Clinchmore Baptist Church. She loved cooking for Sunday dinner and company stopping by to eat, baking and candy making. She was avid in church.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Marlow, second husband, Early Byrge; son, Donnie Marlow; parents, George and Rachel Marie McKamey Seiber; brother, Clarence Seiber; sister, Ethel Kennedy Phillips.
Survivors include her sons, Dexter and Lonnie Marlow; step-son, Glen Byrge, all of Jacksboro; step-daughters, Nannie Mae Young, Crossville, Gladys Phillips, Wartburg; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Clois Seiber, Claxton, Condy and Marshall Seiber, both of Caryville; sisters, Lou Rosie Jones and Emma Goddard, both of Claxton; several nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Feb. 3 at the Clinchmore Baptist Church with Rev. Wendell Carroll officiating. Interment icon will follow in Beechfork Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Wilma Scalf Slover Woods Donald
Wilma Scalf Slover Woods Donald, age 79 of Caryville died Jan. 26, 2004 at the Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville. She was a member of the Guiding Star Baptist Church. She loved gospel music. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. Bill Slover and Willie Woods; parents, Conda and Bertha Hatmaker Scalf.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. John O. Donald, Caryville; daughter, Peggie and husband, Austin Smith, Clinton; step-daughter Rita and husband, Morris Wilson, Alabama; step-son, Johnny Donald and wife, Wanda, Caryville; grandchildren, Eddie and Robbie Nelson, Lake City; sister, Monnie Berry, Greenville, SC; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Jan. 28 at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Seeber and Rev. William Caldwell officiating. Interment icon was in the Oak Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby Lee Green
Ruby Lee Green, age 82 of LaFollette died Feb. 2, 2004 at the Autumn Healthcare Center in Knoxville. She was a member of The Hill and Valley Garden Club, Home Demonstration Club, Campbell County Historical Society, a 4-H Volunteer and a Pink Lady with the LaFollette Hospital Auxillary. She was of the Protestant Faith.
Preceded in death by her husband, Elmer F. Green; sons, Boyd Green Sr. and Elmer Wayne Green.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Wanda Green of Oak Ridge; grandsons, Jason Green and wife Amanda of Kingston, Lynn Green and wife Cynthia of Lenior City; granddaughter, Terry Lynn Davis, Kennesaw, Ga; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Elizabeth, Samantha and Allison Green of Lenior City, Chloe and Daryn Green of Kingston and Leslie Davis of Kennesaw, Ga; sisters-in-law, Juanita Robbins of LaFollette and Beatrice Thompson of Clinton; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Feb. 4 at Walters Chapel. Interment icon was in the Fincastle Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

J. Marshall Heatherly
J. Marshall Heatherly, age 68 of LaFollette died Jan. 29, 2004 at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice. He was the owner of J. Marshall Heatherly’s Grocery on College Hill for 33 years until his retirement in 1997. After retirement he continued to work in the family catering business. He enjoyed traveling, storytelling, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a lifetime member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Lee Ridenour Heatherly.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Oveda Heatherly; son, James M. Heatherly, Jr., and wife Carol, of LaFollette; daughters, Margaret and husband Mike Smith of Jacksboro and Anna and husband, Danny Rangel of Von Ormy,  Texas; grandchildren, Monica Heatherly Snow and husband, Adam, Sara and Kyra Heatherly, of LaFollette, Casey and Taylor Smith of Jacksboro, Christopher Cantu and Isabella Rangel of  Texas; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Feb. 1 at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Arnold and Rev. Danny King officiating. Interment icon was in the Bakersforge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers , the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the St. Mary’s Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, Tn 37938. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ella Mae Housley
Ella Mae Housley, age 72 of LaFollette died Jan. 30, 2004 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Stanfield Church of God. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and working in her home.
Preceded in death by her husband: Floyd Samuel Housley; parents: Dave Henry and Ida Frances White Bratcher; son: James Michael Housley; brother: William Henry Bratcher; sisters: Naomi Proctor; Monnie Clear; Mary Church; Katherine Davis.
Survivors include her sons: Kenneth and Robert Micheal Housley both of Kokomo, IN; Edward, George, and Bobby all of LaFollette; daughters: Mary J. Anderson and Kimberly Housley both of Kokomo, IN; Peggy J. Griffith of Hutson, NC; Mary E. Owens, Margaret Sue Peters, Sandra Pemberton, and Cheryle Marlow all of LaFollette; 30 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; brothers: David Bratcher of LaFollette; George R. Bratcher of Indianapolis, IN; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were February 1 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Delmus Bruce and Rev. Ronnie Poston officiating. Interment icon was in the Housley Sweat Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas Gordon Lamb
Thomas Gordon Lamb, age 68 died Jan. 28, 2004 at the Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was an Army Veteran, a member of the First Baptist Church in Lebanon, and more recently the First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.
Preceded in death by his parents, Reverend W.H. and Louise Davenport Lamb; daughter, Lenora Eilene Lamb.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Lamb, Murfreesboro; daughter, Melanie Lamb Faithful, Franklin; sons and daughters-in-laws, Tony and Diana Lamb, Arlington,Va , Bill and Debbie Lamb, Hendersonville; eight grandchildren; sister, Gail Teague, Indianapolis; brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie and Rebecah Lamb, Indianapolis.
Funeral services were Jan. 29 at the Sellars Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kenyan Cureton. Pallbearers were Mark Dawson, Carl Teague, Dan Teague, Randy Hand, Tom Robinson and Don Turner. Interment icon was in the Cedar Grove Cemetary. Contributions may be made to the Alvin C. York Veteran Hospice Care and/or The Gideons in the name of Thomas Lamb. Sellars Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Arnold Overton
Arnold Overton, age 59 of Hopewell Junction, Ny, since 1983, formerly of Missouri and Tennessee died Jan. 28, 2004 at his home. Born in Clairfield on Sept. 29, 1944. He was an avid fisherman and coach of little league, Pop Warner, soccer, CYO basketball. And a Veteran of the US Army 1963-1967. He was employed by Lucent Technologies in Mt. Kisco, NY before his retirement for 32 years. Arnold and Mary Beth were married May 6, 1967 in Berkley, Mo.
Preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Ruth Hill Overton; sisters, Patsy Cotter and Bertha Black; brother, Garland Overton.
Survivors include his life partner, Mary Beth Overton; children, Diana C. Haight and husband, William of Poughkeepsie, NY, Michael W. Overton and wife Alyssha L., Marlboro, NY, Davia A. Overton and Andrew S. Overton, both of Hopewell Junction, NY; brother, RJ Overton and wife Dot; sister, Bobbie Lowe; sister, Charlene Jones and husband, George; brother, Carl Overton and wife Vanessa; brother, Leonard Overton; grandchildren, Erin and Brenna Haight, Amanda Matthews and Alannah Overton; four aunts many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and interment icon were Feb. 3 at Campbell Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY, 12601 or Hospice, Inc., 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Maudie Phillips
Maudie Phillips, age 94, of Jacksboro died Jan. 27, 2004 at the St. Mary’s Nursing Home in Campbell County. She was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to church and praising the Lord.
Preceded in death by her husband, Luther Phillips; sons, T.J. Phillips; parents, Andy and Meadi Williams Gross; brothers, Roy, Hubert, Bufford and Virgil Gross.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, L.H. and Mary Lou Phillips, Jacksboro; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Raymond Jenkins, Jacksboro; daughter-in-law, June Phillips Williams, Jacksboro; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; brother, Carlos Gross, In; sisters, Pearlie Nicklous, In, Marie Richardson, LaFollette, Georgia Lindsay, Jacksboro; special niece, Belva Chapman, Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Jan. 29 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Clarence Duncan and Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment icon was in Indian Creek Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
