Tennessee, U.S., Delayed Birth Records, 1869-1909
Inda Davis
Inda Davis, age 78 of Caryville died Dec. 3, 2004 at St Mary’s of Campbell County. She was a member of the Little Cove Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Rebecca Goslin Davis; sister, Tina Russell.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ward, Caryville; sister, Betty Riseden of Sweet Water; grandchildren, Zendell, Kevin, Marvin, Scott and Jessie Ward; nine great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Dec. 6 at West Robbins Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Campbell officiating. Interment icon was in the Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery, Robbins.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Paul Faulkner
Joseph Paul Faulkner, age 75 of Chattanooga died Nov. 29, 2004 in a local hospital. He was a faithful member and deacon of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church as well as a member of the James Sunday School Class. He was born Feb. 25, 1929 in Chattanooga, but soon after he and his family moved to Jellico. While growing up in Jellico he attended Jellico High School, where he served as captain of the football team and from where he graduated in 1949. While living in Jellico he served as an active member and as a deacon of the First Baptist Church. In the early 1970’s he was a member of the Campbell County School Board and Chairman of the Election Commission. He was 32nd degree Mason of the Jellico Lodge #527 F&AM, after moving to Chattanooga he transferred his membership to the Whorley Lodge #601 F&AM, and was also a member of the Alhambra Shrine Temple.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Faulkner and Dusta Leasch Faulkner; siblings, Martha Faulkner, Jimmy Faulkner, Robert Lee Faulkner, Sr., Mary Cate and Johnny Faulkner.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Mays Faulkner; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret F. and William R. Long, Sr.; daughter, Madeline F. Ellis; grandchildren, Kimberly Long Baucom and husband, Bradley E. Baucom, William J. Long, Jr. and wife, Amanda J. Long, Tamara Jo Ellis and Justin Joe Ellis, both of Chattanooga; sister, Clara Beair, Springfield, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Dec. 1 in Brainerd Hills Baptist Church with Dr. C. Richard Mason officiating. Interment icon was in the Westview Cemetery. IN lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brainerd Hills Baptist Church Vision 2000 fund, 6611 Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Euretha Goins
Euretha Goins, age 88 of LaFollette died Dec. 4, 2004 at St. Mary's Health and Rehab Center in LaFollette. She was a member of the East LaFollette Baptist Church and retired from Imperial Reading Corporation with over 40 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Paul Tiller, of LaFollette; special granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Brenda and Bobby Hicks, of LaFollette; special great-granddaughter and great-grandson-in-law, Kelli and Brent Pickett; special great-great-grandson, Jackson Cole Pickett, all of Chattanooga; sister, Sue Chapman of LaFollette; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Dec. 6 at Walters Chapel with Rev. David Hicks and Rev. Danny King officiating. Interment icon was in the Bakers Forge Cemetery.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Georgia Goins
Georgia Goins, age 83 of LaFollette died in the early morning on Dec. 6, 2004 at St. Mary’s Health and Rehab Center. She was a member of the First Independent Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired from Imperial Reading after many years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Whit and Mary Ann Miller Goins.
She is survived by her brother, Jess Goins of LaFollette; sister, Ruby Miller, Aileen Leach, both of LaFollette and Lois Sharp of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Dec. 8 at Cross Chapel with Rev. Al Miller officiating. Interment icon will be in the Victory Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lewis O. Goins
Lewis O. Goins, age 57 of LaFollette died suddenly Dec. 6, 2004. He was member of the Glade Springs Baptist Church, U.S. Army Veteran of the  Vietnam War. He had worked at LaFollette Utilities for 18 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Boccia Goins; parents, Onie and Nancy Lucille Paul Goins; brothers, Rev. Gene Goins and J. Will Goins; sister, Jennie Vinsant.
He is survived by his mother-in-law, Mildred Sharp Boccia of LaFollette; sisters and brothers in law, Dianna and Harold Wilson of Jacksboro, Ruth and Chuck Scalf of Gavelston, IN, Lucille McNeely of LaFollette; lots of nieces and nephews, a host of relatives and friends and co-workers.
Funeral services were Dec. 8 at Glade Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Braden and Rev. Don Reynolds officiating. Interment icon will be Thursday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. in the Grantsboro Cemetery with military Honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Elena Gray
Mary Elena Gray, age 63 of Clinton died Dec. 6, 2004 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge. She loved gardening, volunteering with the schools and had a great love for all animals. She helped at the Humane Society and loved the University of Tennessee Vols.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Stewart; sister, Ellie Nodine; nephew, Sammy Nodine, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Gray, Sr., of Clinton; daughter, Rose DeMarcus and husband, Jason of Andersonville; son, Tommy Gray, Jr., of Clinton; grandchildren, Bradley, Kayla and Cody DeMarcus of Andersonville; father, John Kirk Stewart of Mabank, TX; sisters, Betty Hawkins of Kemp, TX, Kathy Avirett of Euless, TX; nieces, Tammy Cawthorn of Mabank, TX, Debbie Oakes of Key West, FL; nephews, Thomas Hawkins of Kemp, TX, Michael Avirett of Ft. Worth, TX; great nieces, Caitlyn Nodine of Boca Raton, FL, Alexis Avirett of Ft. Worth, TX, Jessica Oakes of Gainesville, FL; great-nephews, Wade Nodine of Boca Raton, FL, Jacob Hawkins of Kemp, TX, Jason Oakes of Key West, FL.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 9 at the St. Therese Catholic Church in Clinton. Interment icon will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

JoAnn Sweat Greenwood
JoAnn Sweat Greenwood age 56 of Beaver Creek, OH, formerly of LaFollette, died Dec. 6, 2004, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. She was a member of the Glade Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Cupp; parents, Albert and Edith Paul Sweat; brothers, Elmer, Lee Roy and Clarence Sweat; grandparents, Wheeler and Lena McNeeley Sweat and William R. and Cora Wilson Paul.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Greenwood Daniel and husband, Todd of Flat Rock, MI; son, Jim Greenwood of Monroe, MI; two grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Jaworski of LaFollette and Wilma Bolling of Sweetwater; brother, Ray Sweat of LaFollette; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Dec. 10 at Union Street Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe, MI with Rev. Joe Bryant officiating. Interment icon will follow at Rath Cemetery.

Millard Curtis Hobbs
Millard Curtis Hobbs, age 66 of Clinton died Dec. 6, 2004 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bradley and Alfie Hobbs; brother, Robert Hobbs.
He is survived by his wife, Adrienne Hobbs of Clinton; daughter, Jeneen and Shannon Siefke of Homestead, FL; son, Mark and Kristin Hobbs of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Stewart and Spencer Siefke; step-child, Chad Douthit; sister, Catherine and Oscar Bruckschen of Thornburg, VA; brothers, David and Murrel Hobbs of Bradenton, FL, Jimmy and Molly Hobbs of Bradenton, FL.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Joe Bridges officiating. Interment icon will be at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 10 at the Anderson Memorial Gardens n Clinton. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN.
