Johnny Katheryn Ballew
Johnny Katheryn Ballew, age 59 of Linton, IN died Jan. 11, 2005 at the Lyons Health and Living Center in Linton, IN. She was born Sept. 9, 1945 in Jellico. She was a member of Faith United Baptist Church in Dent, OH.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Fields; brother, Walter Fields.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Ballew; daughters, Shannon Roach of Bloomfield, IN, Deanne Padgett of Jasonville, IN, Susan Clark of Linton, IN; brothers, Archie Fields and Gary Fields of Ala; sisters, Jimmy Foshee of OH, Rita K. Bolden and Lavenna Ann Archer, both of Ala; six grandchildren.
Funeral services were Jan. 15 at the Linton First Christian Church with Rev. Mike Chapman officiating. Interment icon was in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery. Contributions may be sent to Indiana Alzheimer’s Disease Research c/o Francine Epperson at 635 Barnhill Dr., Medical Science Bldg., Room A142, Indianapolis, IN 46202-5120.
Lester Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Marie Blankenship
Marie Blankenship, age 86 of LaFollette died Jan. 11, 2005 at U.T. Medical Center. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grand mother and a granny to all she knew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dow Blankenship; daughter, Nancy Blankenship; parents, Henry and Beulah Ivey Luttrell; brothers, Mack, James Clyde, and Henry Jr.; sister, Helen Housley.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lawana Blankenship of LaFollette; daughter: Barbara Zillich of Evans, GA, Darlene “Sug” Blankenship of LaFollette; loving grandsons, Jerry and wife, Carol and Jeff Reynolds; granddaughters, Tammy Jones, Kimberly Michel, and Roger Lee Blankenship Jr.; nine great grandchildren; special great grandson, Ethan Jordan; brother, Joe Luttrell of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were Jan. 16 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. David Hicks and Rev. Ray Graham officiating. Interment icon was in Glade Springs Cemetery.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lynda Lee Conner
Lynda Lee Conner age 61 of Jacksboro died Jan. 13, 2005 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. She attended the Jacksboro United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Conner.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Page of Greenville; mother, Nelle Conner of Baltimore, MD; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and interment icon were Jan. 15 at Bakers Forge Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Richardson officiating.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Nannie Mae Coker Cordell
Nannie Mae Coker Cordell, age 73 of Newcomb died Jan. 14, 2005 at the Jellico Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her brother, W.R. Coker; parents, Dewayne Coker and Evalee Silcox Coker.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Cordell of Newcomb; son, Wayne Veach and wife, Brenda of Fairview, KY; step-sons, Jimmy Linthorne of MI, Gary Cordell of MI, Eddie Cordell of MI; step-daughters, Virginia Hyden of FLA, Sharon Murphy of MI, Mary Cordell of MI, Norma Jean Irwin of MI, Susie George, of MI, Terry Cordell of MI, Linda Hartzman of MI; grandchildren, Shirley Lawson of Cane Creek, KY, Wayne Veach, Jr. of Somerset, KY; 21 step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Coker of Laurel, IND, Chester Coker of Newcomb; sisters, Joyce Nelson of Newcomb, Shirley Hillburn of Jellico; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Jan. 17 at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Carpenter and Rev. Ray Landes officiating. Interment icon was in Fox Cemetery.

Betty Joyce Cox
Betty Joyce Cox, age 75 of LaFollette died Jan. 13, 2005 at St. Mary’s Health and Rehab. She was a member of Coolidge First Baptist Church and was retired from Imperial Reading after a lifetime of service.
She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Wayne Cox; parents, Hobart and Mae Roach Miller; brothers, Ted Miller, Bill Delap Miller, Hoover Miller and Cecil Miller; sisters, Clautee Miller.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Cox; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Robert Cardwell of LaFollette, Judy and Rick Phillips of Chattanooga, Vickie and David Byrd of Caryville, Ellawin and Gene Rogers of Speedwell; six grandchildren, one great grandchild; brothers, P.T. Miller of Clayton, OH, Clarence Miller of LaFollette, Roy Miller of Brookville, OH, Marvin Miller of Dayton, OH, Bryan Miller of LaFollette; sisters, Edith Longmire, Hazel Hovater, Beatrice Cox, Opal Fontella Bogan, all of LaFollette, Maxine Bullock of Dayton, OH; several nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Jan. 15 at the Cross Chapel with Rev. W.H. (Sonny) Longmire officiating. Interment icon was in Bakers Forge Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Alma Lee Kimberlin Edwards
Alma Lee Kimberlin Edwards was born July, 31, 1917 in Campbell County to the late Frank and Emma Love Kimberlin. She was a loving wife of Millard Edwards for 62 years who passed away in 1995. They had eight children. She was a hard worker, managing the family farm while her husband worked away from home. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior as a young girl and lived her life telling others about Him that they too, would be saved His grace.
God graciously answered a very special prayer for her on Jan. 10, 2005. She had prayed that she would go to sleep and wake up in heaven. God granted her request. Even though her family mourns for her and are sad to say goodbye, they know that she is in God’s special care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emma Love Kimberlin; husband, Millard; children, Roy and Lloyd; one great grandchild.
She is survived by her children, Betty Fisher of Fla, Blanche Poteat of In, Lynda Hardesty of Or, Jane Aldrich of Wa, Bill Edwards of Fla, Kathy McCart of Speedwell; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 13 in the Chapel of Cross Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Braden and Rev. Estel Powers officiating. Interment icon was in the Edwards Family Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Harry Bryson Grindersleve
Harry Bryson Grindersleve, age 8 months of Caryville died Jan. 8, 2005 at the Children’s Hospital in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Grindersleve.
He is survived by his parents, Andy and Renee McGee Grindersleve of Caryville; sisters, Jazmyne and Brittany Grindersleve of Caryville; grandparents, J.R. Daugherty and Donna Johnson of Caryville, Sonya Grindersleve of Newport, Barbara Ledbetter of Jamestown, Jr. and Teresa Gaylor of Caryville; great grandparents, Yetta Grindersleve of Ill, Al and Elsie Byrd of Jamestown and Carl Daugherty of Caryville.
Funeral services were Jan. 10 at the Mill Branch Church with Brother Asbury Byrd and Brother Ray Penticuff officiating. Interment icon was in the Mill Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dustin Daugherty and Daniel Grindersleve.
Mundy Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Larry D. Hills
Larry D. Hills, age 64 of Speedwell died Jan. 12, 2005 at his home. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, retired tool and die maker, member of United Auto Workers Union, and attended the Fincastle United Methodist Church. He was well known for helping his neighbors and friends and anyone in need, and could fix and repair anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C and Jessie Hills; brothers, Arnold and Dean Hills.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Hills of Speedwell; children, Karen Brown and husband, Timothy of Speedwell and Terry Hartman and wife, Teresa of Waldron, MI; grandchildren, Tiffianey Hartman, Tonya Hartman, Raven Arthur, Damion Arthur and January Arthur; sisters, Donna Wight of Fontana, CA and Carol Green and husband, Robert of Fontana, CA;several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Jan. 17 at Fincastle United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Cole officiating. Interment icon will be in Adrian, MI. Flowers are appreciated, however the family prefers memorials to the Fincastle United Methodist Church Building Fund, 629 Old Middlesboro Highway, LaFollette, TN 37766 or Adventa Hospice at U.T. Medical Center, 1924 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
