Dalis Oleta Edwards
Dalis Oleta Edwards, age 89 of Speedwell passed away June 3, 2006 at her home after a long illness. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to everyone.
She was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Lou Masingo; husband Lonzo Edwards; sons, Earl Glen Edwards and Bobby Allen Edwards; sisters, Cecil Gentry, Ruby Harbin, Myrl Perkins and Hester Wilde; brothers, Verlin and Lewis Masingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Kasandra (Edwards) Holt of Speedwell; sisters, Bertha Goad of LaFollette and Bonnie Page of Lake City; grandchildren, Adam Holt, Chad Holt and Holly Holt all of Speedwell; step-grandchildren, Marquetta Salisbury, Becky Watson, Machelle Edwards, Brenda Smith and Dawn Fenwick; several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 6 at Walters Chapel with the Rev. Glen Davis officiating. Interment icon was in the Edwards Family Cemetery.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Damien Dean Fuqua
Damien Dean Fuqua, age 12 of Lithia Springs, GA, formerly of LaFollette passed away May 30, 2006 at the Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta after a courageous battle with Leukemia. He was a member of Word of Life Christian Center.
He is survived by his mother, Billie Fuqua of Lithia Springs; sister, Alyssa Fuqua of Lithia Springs; grandparents, Joyce and Eckle Davis of TN; grandfather, Billy Fuqua of TN; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held June 1 at Couch-Garner and Cole Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Bill Henneberg officiating. Interment icon was in the Mozley Memorial Gardens. Couch-Garner and Cole Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Jerry Greene
Jerry Greene, age 63 of Dayton, OH, formerly of Jellico passed away June 3, 2006. For over 38 years he worked for the Lazarus Company, formerly Rike’s Department Stores.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan; son and daughter in law, Dale and Lorraine Greene; son, Jason Greene; grandchildren, Brandon and Ciera; brothers and sisters in law, James and Sue, Tommy and Faye, Ronnie; mother in law, Katherine Foland; sisters in law, Judy and Jerry Mayberry, Lois Duhon, Vicky Foland; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held June 7 at the Newcomer Funeral Home. Interment icon was in the Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
Newcomer Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Herman “Buddy” Hamblin
Herman “Buddy” Hamblin, age 73 of Jacksboro, formerly of the Mulberry Community and a retired machinist for General Electric, passed away May 31, 2006 at the Methodist Medical Center. He was born October 12, 1932 in Whitley County, KY the son of John and Melda (Monhollen) Hamblin.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Hamblin and mother, Melda (Monhollen) Hamblin.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Hamblin of Jacksboro; daughter, Carla Eads and husband, Larry of Fairfield, OH; granddaughter, Amanda Eads of Fairfield, OH; grandson, Benjamin Eads of Fairfield, OH.
Funeral services were held June 3 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phil Morris officiating. Interment icon was in the Hamblin Cemetery in Williamsburg.
Croley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Judge D.L. Hutson
Judge D.L. Hutson, age 84 of LaFollette passed away June 5, 2006 at the St. Mary’s Health and Rehab. He was a charter member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was in the Jacksboro Masonic Lodge #322 F&AM.
He was an avid bowler, having bowled in and was president of the American Bowler ASSC. He bowled in several bowling congress. He graduated and received a Doctoral Degree in Juris Prudence.
After graduating from Jacksboro High School Judge Hutson completed two years at Tennessee Wesylan College. He then entered the Army in September 1942 and served in the European Theatre as a pilot and instrument man on a forward observation aircraft and received several medals and commendations while surveying battles, engagements, skirmishes and expeditions in the battle of Normandy, battle of Northern France and battle of Germany. He received a battlefield commission as 2 nd Lieutenant in the field artillery. Among his medals he received the air medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters.
He completed his law degree at the University of Tennessee after his discharge from the Army. He passed the bar and began practice in LaFollette in 1948. In 1955 he was appointed to the bench as judge of the criminal division of the 19 th Judicial Circuit comprising Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Morgan, Fentress, and Scott Counties which he served until his retirement in 1974.
He had one of the lowest rates of reversal in the state and was noted for keeping his trial docket current in every county after holding court into the late hours. He earned the respect of all who practiced in his court and those who came into contact with the court. Judge Hutson spent his years in retirement at his home in LaFollette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennie L. and Sarah Taylor Hutson; step father, Noah Wright; brother, Harry and wife, Nina.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Sutton Hutson of LaFollette; daughter, Sara Mae Heatherly of LaFollette; grandson, Darrell Lynn Marlow Jr. of Jacksboro; great grandchildren, Autumn and D.L. Marlow; brother and sister in law, Billy D. and Joyce Hutson of Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held June 8 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Charles Sparks, Frank Dossett, Lee Asbury and Jim Wesson officiating. Interment icon will be at 11 a.m. on June 9 in the Sunrise Cemetery. Friends may visit June 8 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

David Junior Jordan
David Junior Jordan, age 78, of LaFollette, passed away May 31, 2006 at St. Mary’s Health and Rehab of LaFollette. He was retired taxi cab operator and attended Stanfield Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his son, Duane Arthur Jordan; parents, David and Lillie Gibson Jordan; twin sister, Lou Jordan, other sisters and brothers, Arch Jordan, Della Claxton, Chester Bruce, Hester Hatmaker, Sarah McCulley, Silas Jordan, Arthur Jordan, John J. Jordan and Ulis Jordan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edna Mae Tidwell Jordan of LaFollette; daughters, Shirley Gaylor and husband, James, and Donna Lucas and husband Adrian all of LaFollette; sons, Ronnie Jordan and wife, Sharon of Dayton, OH, and Mark Jordan of Caryville; eight grandchildren, Breck Holloway, Amanda Disspayne, Laura Austin, Donald Disspayne, Tim and Matt Gaylor, Tyler and Shelby Jordan; three great grandchildren, Emily Gaylor, Daniel Disspayne, and Alyssa Disspayne; sisters, Ann Queener of LaFollette and Jessie Lusty of Paducah, KY; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 4 at Walters Chapel with the Rev. Delmus Bruce and Rev. Ron Bruce officiating. Interment icon was in the Woodward Cemetery.

James E. “Jim” Kitts Sr.
James E. “Jim” Kitts Sr. age 58 of LaFollette passed away May 28, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He liked fishing, auctions and his family.
He was preceded in death by parents, Siler and Janie Wilson Kitts.
He is survived by his ex wife, Linda “Lynn” Kitts of LaFollette; sons and daughters in law, James Kitts Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla, Steven and Alice Kitts and Jeffery and Melinda Kitts, all of LaFollette; grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Austin, Maria, Harley and Davidson Kitts; brother, Budd McCarty; sisters, Joan Hill, Sue Taylor and Vonda Wilson all of LaFollette; very special brother in law, Curtis Salgers and son, Curtis; several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 1 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Welden and Rev. Roger Hatmaker officiating. Interment icon was in the Wilson family cemetery.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Paul
Jacqueline “Jackie” Paul, age 54 of Caryville passed away June 4, 2006 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was born September 25, 1951 in Lake City. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved crafts, painting, flowers, basket making, cooking and spending time with her family and friends whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Head; brothers, Frank Harris and Johnny Head and grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Paul of Caryville; son, Paul and Anna Crane of Caryville; daughters, Jessica and Jimmy Cornett of Norris, Amy Estes of Lake City; brother, Robert David Head, Sr. of Caryville; sister, Julia and Charles Vitatoe of Caryville; six grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 6 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Hooks officiating. Interment icon was in the Mountain View Cemetery.
Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
