Elmer Cecil Cox
Elmer Cecil Cox, age 81 of Powell passed away Feb. 21, 2008 at Norris Health and Rehab Center.
He was a member of Bishopville Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is preced in death by wife, Flora Cox; parents, Fred and Carrie Cox; sons, Robert E. and Cecil Alan Cox; granddaughter, Melissa Ann Enix.
He is survived by daughters, Fay Coffey and husband, Michael of LaFollette, Delores Ann Reaves and Bobby Abbott of Clinton; grandchildren, Steve Cook, Lisa Cobb and husband, Doug, Penny Wright and husband, Chris, April Mynatt and husband, Chris, Randy Reaves, Ronnie Reaves and wife, Nicole; sisters, Madeline Lockhart of Claxton, Mary Bean of Daneville, Illinois; several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Ogle and Rev. Ed Bounds officiating. Interment icon was in Zion Cemetery.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Eva Jane Davis
Eva Jane Davis, age 87 of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Fairview, Kentucky, passed away Feb. 17, 2008 at Akron City Hospital.
She is survived by nephews, Bill Williams and wife, Pat; and David Williams and wife, Juanita, both of Akron, Ohio; nieces, Louise Swan of Jefferson City; Shirley Fannin and husband, James of Akron, Ohio; and Dorothy Roberts of Jacksboro; a host of friends and relatives mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Lay officiating. Interment icon was in Lot Cemetery.
Harp Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of the arrangements.

Jerma Sue Davis Gibson
Jerma Sue Davis Gibson, age 72 passed away Feb. 21, 2008.
The daughter of the late Robert Franklin Davis and Mossie Rachel Heatherly Davis, she was a homemaker, member of Maynard Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Gibson of Juliette: children Robert DeWitt Gibson of Murfreesboro, Charles Wayne Gibson of Gray, Craig Davis Gibson of Macon, Georgia and Mark Wesley Gibson of Mt. Pleasant,  South Carolina; sister, Vivian Kitts of LaFollette; seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Maynard Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Hunnicut and Dr. Marvin Lee officiating. Interment icon was in Monroe Memorial Gardens.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Tom Jones
Tom Jones, age 48 of the Bethlehem community of LaFollette passed away Feb. 24, 2008 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was employed by the Campbell County Highway Department.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Oscar and Ethel Jones and Emit and Nora Goins.
He is survived by wife, Carolyn Jones; son, Tommy Lee Jones and wife Tara; daughter, Shaun Goins and husband Dexter; granddaughter, Tara Goins; parents, Golda and Neoma Jones; brothers Earl Jones, Audra Jones and wife Patricia, Bill Jones and wife Sue; mother-in-law, Cornie Lee Goins, all of LaFollette; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Walters Chapel with Rev. Bill Braden and Rev. Ronnie Poston officiating. Interment icon was in Goins Cemetery.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Horace Lee Leach
Horace Lee Leach, age 72 of Speedwell passed away February 18, 2008 at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
He was a life-long resident of Speedwell. He was saved at age nine and joined New Salem Baptist Church in Speedwell. He left this life a member of Duff Baptist Church. He was a 51 year member of Valley Star #577 Masonic Lodge. He worked at various jobs through the years, but his heart could only be happy working on his birthplace farm. He enjoyed hard work producing burley tobacco, hay, corn, and beef cattle. His home was always surrounded by beautiful flowers. He also enjoyed taking care of the Leach Family Cemetery for many years until his health failed. Horace Lee loved the Lord, attending church and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Horace McKinley and Carrie Izetta (Bullard) Leach; sister, Ruby Leach Myers.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Betty Spradlin Leach; son, Roger Lee Leach and wife, Amy of Speedwell; daughter, Lana Kay Russell and husband Willard Jr. (Bill) of New Tazewell; sister, Audra (Bobbie) Leach Russell and husband, Lloyd of Speedwell; five grandchildren, Caleb, Ethan and Hannah Leach and Mary Faith and McKinley Russell.
A special thanks is extended from the family to the medical staff of Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center for the outstanding care provided during his lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Pastor Don Allen and Pastor Roger Leach officiating. Interment icon was in Leach Family Cemetery.

Mary Daugherty Medlin
Mary Daugherty Medlin, age 65 of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Jacksboro, passed away Feb. 25, 2008.
She was preceded in death by son, Jesse Theodore Medlin; parents, Theodore and Janie Alice Daugherty; brothers, Doyle, Donald, Charles and David.
She was survived by her husband, W.T. Medlin of Ohio; sons, Timothy and Charles Clinton of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Wendy Medlin; three cherished grandchildren, Lindsey, Thomas and Jessie Theodore Medlin, Jr. all of Richmond, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lendon and Madge Daugherty and Doug and Lela Daugherty of Jacksboro, Curtis Daugherty of Norris, Edmond and Marie Daugherty of Flint, Michigan, sisters, Dorothy Spradlin of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Betty Blair of Kettering, Ohio, Jolene and Andy Hill of Dayton, Ohio, Kathy and David Lambert of Clinton, sister-in-laws, Betty Daugherty of Dalton, Georgia and Barbara Daugherty of Orlando, Florida. She leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews and was very close to her great nieces and great nephews. Her legacy will live on through all generations of her family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. March 2 at Indian Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Townsend, Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson and Rev. Bill Wilson officiating.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Cemetery Fund of Indian Creek Baptist Church.

Earnie Pace
Earnie Pace, age 73 of Trotwood, Ohio, formerly of Caryville, passed away Feb. 19, 2008, in Dayton, Ohio.
She was born August 1, 1933 in Caryville, the daughter of Howard and Nola Carroll. She retired from General Motors. She was a very giving person and dedicated to her family.
She was preceded in death by husband, William Pace; daughter, Diana Pace; sister, Louise Caldwell; two brothers.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lori Pace of Dayton, Ohio; daughters, Carolyn “Sue” Truitt of Dayton, Ohio and Marilyn Pace of Trotwood, Ohio; grandchildren, Diana, Tina, Michael, Jake, Luke, Leanne, Brittany and Sherry; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Tressie and Odessie; longtime best friend, Sara.
Funeral services were held Feb. 24 in Martin Wilson Chapel. Interment icon was in Carroll Cemetery.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
