Tennessee, U.S., Delayed Birth Records, 1869-1909
Doris C. (Dot) Patty
Doris C. (Dot) Patty, age 75 of Kenosha, Wisconsin passed away Feb. 21, 2008.
Born on April 9, 1931, in Glade Creek, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William and Lola (Randolph) Perry. She was educated in Caryville schools. On December 26, 1947, in Caryville she was united in marriage to Albert Patty. Together they were blessed with three loving children.
She was employed with Promat Labs and then with American Motors Corporation working in the laboratory and production departments. In 1969 she retired to become a fulltime homemaker.
She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church and had formerly served as a council member for the International Order of Jobs Daughters. Dot will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and grandchildren. She was “the best grandma and cook”, enjoyed her bus trips to the casinos with her friends and loved playing pinochle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Albert of Kenosha; three children, Tammy (Tim) Wojnicz of Kenosha, Terri (Jim) Hanrahan of Kenosha; and Lee (Jill) Patty of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Caitlin, Max, Holly, Ella and Ava; a brother, Bill Perry of Powell; and two sisters, Treba (Leon) Trammel of LaFollette, and Verda Marcum of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dot’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the United Hospital Systems – Kenosha Campus C.C.U. nursing staff and Dr. Peter Mariani for their compassionate care.
Funeral Services were held Feb. 26 at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

Nina Mae Penny
Nina Mae Penny, age 80, of LaFollette passed away February 26, 2008 at her home after a long illness.
She loved cookie jars, John Wayne and her family very much.
She was preceded in death by grandson, Kenneth Dunnigan; sister, Irene Kline; daughter-in-law, Caroline Penny.
She is survived by six children Woodrow Penny and Sue Dunnigan of Alabama, Paul Penny, Lawnie Penny, Florence Reichow of LaFollette, Lucinda McKenzie of Michigan; 24 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on February 28 in the Martin Wilson Chapel. Interment icon was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Bobby Jack (Pete) Price
Bobby Jack (Pete) Price, age 69 of LaFollette passed away Feb. 27, 2008 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by parents, “Evert and Velier Reynolds Price, lovingly known as “Mom and Pop” Price; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Homer Wooten; niece, JoAnn Goins; nephew, Timothy Scott Price; great niece, Stacy Hatfield.
He is survived by daughters, Scarlett Johnson and her husband, Ray of Lenoir City, Heather Kelley and her husband, Robby of Sweetwater, Amber Price of Clinton; grandson Jordan Chase Price; granddaughter, Abigail Jordan Kelley; sisters, Pat Goins of LaFollette, Sue Shoupes and husband James of Xenia, Ohio; brothers, Everette Price and wife, Linda of Cookeville, Jilmmy Price and wife, Betty of Fairborn, Ohio; aunts, Loraine Pryor of Knoxville, Evelyn Hunter of Spartanburg,  South Carolina; special uncle, Rev. Don Reynolds of LaFollette; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held March 2 at 2 p.m. at Walters Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Hatfield, Rev. Don Reynolds and Rev. Larry Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Interment icon will be in Bakers Forge Cemetery.
Walters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby Mozingo Smith
Ruby Mozingo Smith, age 80 of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2008 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born August 7, 1926 in Campbell County.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edd and Etta Goins Mozingo; sister, Cleo McFarland.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry W. and Mary Ellen Smith of Knoxville; grandsons, Gregory Smith & Michael Biggs; grea tgrandsons, Dean Smith, Zackary Wilkinson, Beau Biggs, Brandon Reymond, and Harrison Reymond; granddaughters, Pamela Wilkinson, Kelly Reymond & Husband Eddie Reymond; great granddaughters, Samantha Biggs & Bridget Reymond
Graveside service and interment icon were at Victory Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Mills officiating. Pallbearers were Greg Smith, Michael Biggs, Zackary Wilkinson & Beau Biggs.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Linda F. (Bozo) Wilson-Jones
Linda F. (Bozo) Wilson-Jones, age 48 departed this life to be with her Jesus Feb. 20, 2008 after many long illnesses.
She was a graduate of Campbell County High School Class of 1976. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 58. Linda was the perfect expression of live, laugh and love. She lived every day of her life to the fullest, with a laughter that will never be forgotten. Her dearest love was her “miracle son”, Blake and the “precious blessing”, she thought she would never live to have and her grandson Kendrick born January 31, 2007.
She is preceded in death by mother and daddy Susie and Curtis Mefford, father, Phillip Wilson and niece, Fayleigh Rose Wilson.
She is survived by son, John Blake Wilson and grandson, Kendrick Eugene Wilson of LaFollette; brother, Darrell Wilson of Georgia; sister and husband, Ida and Mike Bowlin of LaFollette; nephews, Jeremy Wilson of Conyers, Georgia, Jordan Allen of LaFollette; niece, Karley Bowlin of LaFollette. A host of several aunts and uncles; special aunt, Cloretta Carroll; special cousins, Hulana Marlow and Bridgett Nance of Jacksboro, Melissa Wilson of Knoxville, Sandy Asher of LaFollette and special friend, Susan Sims of Jacksboro.
Funeral services were held Feb. 22 at Walters Chapel with Rev. Randy Comer and Rev. Jasper Walden officiating. Interment icon was at Bakers Forge Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Haley Bullock
Haley Bullock, 63 of Caryville went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2008 after an extended illness. She was a member of Clinchmore Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobert and Tasie McKamey Bullock; brother, Ovie Bullock.
She is survived by her brothers and wives, Archie and Henrietta Bullock of Halls, James and Wanda Bullock of Stoney Fork, Arlie and Bernice Bullock of Powell, and Larry and Pauline Bullock of Lake City; sisters, Alice Loy of Clinton, Pernice Bullock of Stoney Fork, and Pearl Phillips, of Powell; very special great nephews and great nieces, Jeremy Braden Murphy, Stephanie Seiber, Breanna Bullock, Blake Seiber, Grace Seiber, and Jacob Bullock.
Funeral services were held May 11 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Rutherford and Rev. Lee Phillips officiating. Interment icon was in the Round Rock Cemetery in Stoney Fork.

Glenadene R. Claiborne
Glenadene R. Claiborne, 84 of Dayton, passed away on the morning, of April 29, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born May 27, 1923 in LaFollette and retired after over 25 years of service from Rike’s Department Store. She was a longtime member of Stillwater United Methodist Church, was involved in the Women’s Republican Club of Dayton, and enjoyed spending time in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by loving husband of 63 years Alexander and her parents. She is survived by two loving sons, Hobart “Gary” Claiborne and Bill Claiborne both of Dayton; precious granddaughters, Elizabeth Jean and Ellen Marie both of Dayton; sisters June Goins and husband, Henry of LaFollette, Armenda Smith and husband, Robert of Hamilton, OH, Drucilla Reagan of Hallandale, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held May 1 at Baker-Hazel and Snider Funeral Home with the Rev. Duane Anders officiating. Interment icon was in the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Stillwater United Methodist Church.

Pauline Ruth Horton
Pauline Ruth Horton, 77 of Goose Creek, SC, passed away May 11, 2008 at her residence.
She was born May 31, 1930 in Campbell County. She enjoyed spending her time as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tennie Johnson Hembree.
She is survived by her son, Carl Horton and wife, Laurie of Goose Creek, SC; son, Carl Horton and wife, Laurie of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren, Holly, Reagan and Cappl Horton of Goose Creek; brother, John Hembree of Anderson County.
Graveside services will be held May 19 at 2 p.m. in the Campbell Memorial Gardens.
