Justin Michael Cramer

MT. PLEASANT - Justin Michael Cramer, 11, a resident of North Main Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

Services for Justin will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Joseph Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The Lewis County native was the son of Elaine Moraitinis Ackerman and Jackie Raye Cramer. He was a sixth grader at the Mt. Pleasant Middle School of Performing Arts. He attended West Point Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. He remains in the hearts of many.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Kelley Sue Ackerman of Trenton, N.J. and Melissa Ackerman of Centerville; grandparents, Raymond and Sandra Whittaker of Trenton, N.J., Nana Moraitinis of Spensor, W.V.; aunts and uncle, Brenda Carr of Trenton, N.J. and Gary and Cheri Cramer of Hohenwald; a cousin, Sara Runions of Hohenwald.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Geneva Hamlett

Mrs. Geneva May Hamlett, 87, resident of Morningside Lane, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at NHC Hillview.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ted Burleson, Ricky Clay and Jeremy Butt officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 4 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to West 7th Street Church of Christ Building Fund, 405 West 7th St., Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Albert Cleveland May and Etta Garrett May. She was married for fifty years to Robert Evans Hamlett who preceded her in death November 17, 1996. She belonged to Columbia Academy Associates for many years and was a member of West 7th Street Church of Christ where she attended the Ladies Bible Class and the Large Auditorium Class.

Survivors include her daughter, Carlene (John W.) Price of Columbia; one brother, Richard (Margaret Hyatt) May of Covington, Georgia; two granddaughters, Jill Price and Robyn Price both of Columbia; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Wiley May of Columbia, Margaret Leighton May of Lawrenceburg, Joyce Ledford Hamlett Godwin of Campbellsville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, R.C. May, C.D. May, C.F. May, and Wilson May.

Pallbearers will be Carl May, Al May, Bill Johnston, Jim Shelton, Gary Hamlett and Phil Hamlett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Autry, Harold Autry, Rudy Godwin, Jimmy Wilkins, Dr. Gaylon Harris and members of the Large Auditorium Class of West 7th Street Church of Christ.

Mrs. Pauline "Polly" Barnett

Mrs. Pauline Adams Barnett, 85, a resident of the Williamsport Pike in Columbia, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at her home.

Services for Mrs. Barnett will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. Denzel Huff officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The Williamson County native was the daughter of the late Sidney and Sally Taylor Adams. She was the wife of Herman W. Barnett for 65 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Church of Nazarene.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Edith Barnett; and a son, Wilson (Jane) Barnett, both of Columbia; five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Alexander, Mrs. Wayne Thomas, Mrs. Larry Drumwright, Mrs. Evelyn Lovett, all of Columbia, and Mrs. Barbara Ann Hunt of Nashville; grandchildren, Jonathan (Lee Ann) Barnett of Bartlett, Jamie Barnett of Columbia, David (Jessica) Barnett of Collierville, Lori Jane (Sean) Daniels of Colorado Springs,  Colo.; great-grandchildren, Grason Barnett of Greenville, and Emma Barnett of Collierville.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mrs. Adrian Harris, Viola Chappell, Virginia Hall, Gertrude Jones and Ruby Parr; a brother, Albert Sidney Adams, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Barnett, Jamie Barnett, David Barnett, Sean Daniels, Billy Wells and Robin Lovett.

Mary Ella Bates

CENTERVILLE - Mary Ella Bates, 64, of Centerville, died Tuesday, April 6, 204, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home with Gene Durham officiating. Burial will be in the Wade-Peeler Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Lois Durham and Jess William Petty. She was a homemaker and wife of Leonard Bates.

Survivors in addition to her husband include sons, Michael and Wendell Bates, both of Centerville; daughters, Teresa Warren and Sheila Duncan, both of Centerville and Wanda Jones of Linden; a brother, Wallace Petty of Centerville; sisters, Ida May Loveless and Hilda McBride, both of Centerville; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Cecil Mae Elrod

ANES STATION - Cecil Mae Elrod, 88, of the Anes Station Community, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in Main Street Retirement Home.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at London Funeral Home. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday until the funeral hour for visitation.

The Petersburg native was the daughter of the late Otis and Jessie Lee Hastings Troop. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Elrod and son, Charles "Bud" Elrod.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Shires of the Caney Spring Community; a sister, Hilda Crick of the Verona Community; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marshall County Library, PO Box 1007, Lewisburg, TN 37091.

Harold T. Fautt

Services for Fautt will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. Les Albritton officiating. The family will visit with friends from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of Martha Thomas Fautt Gibson of Columbia and the late Jack Cummins.

He is survived by four daughters, Kathy (Mark) Dyer and Rhonda Fautt, both of Lebanon, and Teresa (Mike) Moss and Angie Fautt, both of Columbia; three sons, Johnny Fautt and Chris Fautt, both of Columbia, and Michael Fautt of Lewisburg; a brother, Marvin Fautt of Columbia; a sister, Linda Cummins of Mt. Pleasant; several grandchildren; and a special friend, Cindy Street of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Cummins and Sue Cummins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Blocker, Johnny Hill, Jimmy Childress, Mark Childress, Sissy Fautt, Mike Halloran and all of his personal friends.

Russell Sparkman

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Wendell Robinson and Sonny Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Burwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Burwood Church of Christ. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Ollie A. Sparkman and Gertie Dodd Sparkman. In 1936, he married Vivian Marie Jacobs Sparkman of Columbia. From 1950-1964, he made his home in Marietta, Ga., where he ran a dairy farm. He was a member of Burwood Church of Christ.

Survivors in addition to his wife are a brother, Ollie Joe (Alice) Sparkman of Burwood; and one nephew, Joe Sparkman of Albuquerque, N.M.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Patton Sparkman.

Pallbearers will be Peffie Gomez, Michael Ford, Anthony Sims, Jack Willis, Sam Allen Dodd, David Kinzer and Jason Dodson.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. and Jenny Locke, Henry Paul Woody, Monroe and Ava McMeen, Jimmy and Shirley Walters, Paul and Sue Dell Ellis, Lee Lockridge, Morton Lockridge, Jim Henry Thompson, members of Burwood Church of Christ and past and present caregivers.

Mrs. Ruth Clements

Services for Mrs. Clements will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

The South Port, Ohio, native was the daughter of the late Edward and Lida Mills Legg. She was involved in the Tutoring Ministry and with In As Much Ministry at the Broadway Christian Church in Ft. Wayne, Ind. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Tina (Mark) Gecowets of Columbia; a son, Fred L. (Nanal) Clements Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Mary Wells of Ironton, Ohio; two brothers, Fred Legg of Columbus, Ohio, and Don Legg of Rush, Ky.; and four grandchildren, Joshua Gecowets, Melanie Gecowets, Keri Gecowets and Daniel Gecowets, all of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Federwisch and Mildred Bailey; and a brother, Charles Legg.

Pallbearers will be Paul Boyd, Chris Gertig, Bill Schulz, Dale Ledbetter and Noel Willems.

Kay Carolyn Walters Jack

Kay departed for her heavenly home from her earthly home on Thursday, April 8, 2004, after a courageous battle for 18 months with cancer.

She was born Aug. 22, 1944, in Columbia and was a 1962 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She married her beloved husband, Gary, on March 31, 1962.

They moved to the East Union Community on Jackson in December 1972. She was very active at East Union Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School Secretary and Discipleship Training Secretary.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 42 years, Gary; a son, Ronnie; and a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Randy Johnston. Nana Kay was very special to her four grandchildren, Courtney, Chad, Cassie and Chase Johnson.

She is survived by her parents, Leon and Mildred Walters of Columbia; sisters, Gail Ledford (Al Plank) and Karen Walters-Patton (Jimmy); brothers, Buster Walters (Pat) and Mike Walters (Sandra) and a nephew, Winston Walters, all of Columbia.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at East Union Baptist Church and from 1-4 p.m. Saturday.

Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at the church by Bro. Calvin Moore and Bro. Paul Williams. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers to serve are Ed Bartlett, Grant Collins, Tom Dean, Herman Foster, Ray Henry and James Price. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of East Union Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, Kay requested that memorials be made to the Basement Fund of the East Union Baptist Church, 2244 Beech Bluff Road, Jackson, TN 38301.

Lawrence-Sorenson Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fred L. Cathey

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Troy Meritt officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at V.K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home. Burial is in Rosemount Cemetery.

V. K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The Maury County native attended the Maury County school system and was retired from Monsanto Chemical Company. She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He was a member of Harlan Flippin Lodge #1155.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Louise Cathey of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Mary Hazel Cathey of Columbia; three daughters, Kathy Shipp of Louisville, Ky., Beverly Stovall of Columbia and Ramona Mitchell of Nashville; a nephew, James Monroe Cathey of Little Rock, Ark., five grandchildren; and other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Greg 'Tommy' Horton

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Neal Funeral Home with Charles Hampton and Paul Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Neal Funeral Home. Burial will be with full military honors in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.

The Lawrence County native was the son of Ophia Bowden Horton of Ethridge and the late Jess Horton. He was a farmer and retired from Murray Inc. He was a U.S. Army veteran in Korea.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Betty Rainey Horton of Ethridge; daughters, Jackie Caylor and Kay Collier; a stepson, Randy White; brothers, Arnold Horton of Lawrenceburg and Edwin Horton Ethridge and Donald Horton of Russellville, Ky.; sisters, Linda Buchanan of Summertown and Barbara Daniels of Charleston, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Frank Boshers Jr.

Services for Mr. Boshers will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Kenneth Gerhart and the Rev. Jason Mize officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 3-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Jason Frank and Susie Wright Boshers and husband of Ina Ruth McKennon Boshers. He was a farmer and driver for Kraft Milk and a member of the Living Waters Church of God of Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Frank) Manning of Mt. Pleasant; seven sons, Steven (Kaye) Boshers, Randy (Shirley) Boshers, Ricky (Donna) Boshers, Barry (Sherry) Boshers, Jeffery (Martha) Boshers, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Ronnie (Diana) Boshers and Terry (Angie) Boshers, both of Hampshire; two sisters, Evelyn Cummins of Nashville and Nora Lee Armstrong of Columbia; 14 grandchildren, Angie Blackburn, Shane Boshers, Donny Boshers, Jason Boshers, Matthew Manning, Jereomy Boshers, Brandy Cothran, Daniel Boshers, Kerry Boshers, Ciji Boshers, Tabitha Boshers, Britta Boshers, Jonathan Boshers and Jeff Boshers Jr.; 11 great-grandchildren, Cody Hollis, Erin Hollis, Katie Boshers, Briana Boshers, Katelyn Boshers, Will Boshers, Tyler Boshers, Ryan Cothran, Justin Boshers, Matthew Isbell and Faith Manning.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Boshers; a granddaughter, Christina Manning; and two sisters, Verley Dagnan and Lorene Boshers.

Pallbearers will be sons. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Dickey Wilkes, Richard Wilkes, Eddie McKennon, Jerry Nance, Lloyd Craft and Robby Ingrum.
