Charles Roberts

LEWISBURG - Charles Edward "Bay" Roberts, 79, of Lewisburg, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at NHC Lewisburg Merihil.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at London Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be until the funeral hour Sunday.

The Marshall County native was the son of the late Clyde and Ethel Adams Roberts.

He was owner of Roberts automobile dealership, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Church Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Tyree Roberts of Lewisburg; daughters, Pam Allen and Suzanne Roberts, both of Lewisburg, and Jan Caldwell of Manchester; sons, Eddie Roberts of Lewisburg and John Roberts of Manchester; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ronnie Campbell

PULASKI - Ronnie Griffin "Soupy" Campbell, 48, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at his residence in Pulaski.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

The Giles County native was the son of the late Grady and Margaret Griffin Campbell. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Campbell.

Survivors include sisters, Emily Ashford of the Stella Community and Martha Tucker of Pulaski.

Charles Hargrove

Mr. Charles Edward "Charlie" Hargrove, 74, retired supervisor at Monsanto and resident of Old Highway 50A, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Macer, Elmer Lusk and Steve Lusk officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.

Memorials may be made to the East Side Church of Christ Building Fund, 1024 East Valley Drive, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Willie A. Hargrove and Lethia Derryberry Hargrove. He retired from Monsanto, was owner of Hargrove Mobile Home Park and was a former employee of Maury Slag. Mr. Hargrove served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge #138 at Culleoka. He was a member of East Side Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Dillehay Hargrove of Columbia; two sons, Sonny (Cindy) Hargrove and Edward (Jackie) Hargrove, both of Columbia; two sisters, Ruth (Robert) Childress and Betty (Billy Ray) Hardison, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Chris Hargrove, Matthew Hargrove, Dustin Hargrove, Benjamin Hargrove, Jessica Hargrove and Clara Hargrove; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ludie Miller, Oscar (Jean) Dillehay, Edith (Tom) Haney, Laddy (Judy) Dillehay, Clint (June) Dillehay and Peggy (Bill) Brent; and two aunts, Elizabeth Vasquez of Land O'Lakes, Fla., and Georgia Hargrove of Columbia.

Pallbearers will be Ray Floyd, Jack Craig, Austin Brewer, Henry Harris, Jim Wilson, James Ed Pollard, Alfred Pagel, Ray Rummage, Ron Fogel, Jerry McNeese and Sarge Westmoreland.

Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Monsanto, elders and deacons of East Side Church of Christ, Jack White, Ed Gossett, Arnold Sexton, John Vaughan, Dr. Dwayne Fulks and Dr. Ben Gardner.

William Hubert Blade Jr.

William Hubert Blade Jr., 42, employee of First Response in Nashville and resident of Pulaski Highway, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Rutherford County.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Cotton officiating. Burial was in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The Giles County native was the son of William H. Blade Sr. and Linda Watson Blade of Pulaski.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Cathy Chumley Saum Blade of Columbia; one son, Brandon Blade of Owensboro, Ky.; one stepson, Jeff Saum of Columbia; one stepdaughter, Christina Saum of Columbia; one sister, Rhonda Thomason of Pulaski; one brother, Steve (Traci) Blade of Pulaski; grandmother, Margaret Watson Long of Pulaski; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, Tyler Saum, Rachel Ward and Dakota Saum; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Chris Cotton, Michael Cotton, Nathan Cotton, Wayne Watson, Jimmy Hargrove and Billy Blade.

Mr. William N. 'Red' Johnson

Mr. William Norton "Red" Johnson, 84, retired from Union Carbide Corporation, died Friday, June 11, 2004, in Silver Spring, Md., while visiting his family.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Gardner officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. Men of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church will serve as pallbearers.

The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1212, Columbia, TN 38401 or the American Heart Association, Middle Tennessee Chapter, 1818 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.

He was a native of Green Hill, Ala., and son of the late George Taylor Johnson and Sally Inez Thornton Johnson and a member of the Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. He made his home in Columbia until moving to Lexington to make his home with his daughter.

His wife, Christine Moody Johnson, preceded him in death in 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty K. (Noel E.) Johnson of Lexington; a son, Robert N. (Nancy) Johnson of Silver Spring, Md.; grandchildren, Kathryn (Ronnie) Gibson of Columbia, Karyn Johnson of Glen Burnie, Md., Karyl-Lynn (Guy) Tirk of King George, Va., Rob Johnson and Greg Johnson of Silver Spring, Md.; three brothers, Gene Johnson of Columbia, Marvin Johnson of Lawrenceburg and James Johnson of Florence, Ala.

Ethel Pearl Deglas

PULASKI - Ethel Deglas, 92, of Pulaski, died Saturday, June 12, 2004.

Interment will be a private graveside service. She will be interred next to her late husband in the Garden of Valor military section of Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Huntsville, Ala.

She was a 30-year veteran of the United States Army in the original Women's Army Corps and was a member of the U.S. Army of Occupation in post-war Germany and in military posts throughout the U.S.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include a niece and a nephew and several great-nieces and nephews.

Bennett-May Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Eva Story

WEST POINT - Eva Carlene Caperton Story, 80, of West Point, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Scott Health Care Center. Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Mickey Brackin and Carl Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Gladys Nelson and Arthur Caperton. She was the wife of the late J.T. Story and retired from Mallory.

Survivors include daughters, Doris Hall of Lexington, Ala., and Wanda Carter of Loretto; a son, Michael Story of Lawrenceburg; sisters, Nell McCrory of St. Joseph and Ruth Dobbs of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Bill Caperton and Rex Caperton, both of West Point; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Neal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Eugene Dunning

HOHENWALD - Charles Eugene Dunning, 64, died Thursday, June 11, 2004, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the American Legion, 119 North Park Ave. in Hohenwald.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association.

McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was the son of George Eugene Dunning of Muskegon, Mich., and the late Maxine Leslie Hall Dunning. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Annelies "Uschi" Dunning of Hohenwald; a son, Jeffrey Joseph Dunning of Grand Rapids, Mich.; daughters, Angela Marie Lawson of Spring Hill and Sarah Eddlemon of Hohenwald; sisters, Linda Dugal of Raceland, La., and Marsha Kibby of Bath, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

Ida Mai Waters

NUNNELLY - Ida Mai Waters, 84, of Nunnelly, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home with Bill McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Nickell Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Florence Booker and Fell Cheatem Chappell. She was a homemaker and wife of the late Bow Waters.

Survivors include a sisters, Margie Blocker of Nunnelly; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Webb

HOHENWALD - Mary Webb, 82, of Hohenwald, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Services were conducted Saturday at McDonald funeral Home in Hohenwald with Bill Webb and Marcus Webb officiating. Burial was in Loveless Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late William Keston Webb and Anna Churchwell Webb. She was a laborer for Genesco.

She is survived by a sister, Betty Love of Columbia.

Milburn Pevahouse

HOHENWALD - Milburn Pevahouse, 59, of Hohenwald, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Perry Community Hospital.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home with Coy Reeves and Jerry McDonald officiating. Visitation will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

He was the son of Evelyn and Milburn Johnny Pevahouse. He was a self-employed logger.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Mary Pevahouse of Hohenwald; a daughter, Lisa Bowen of Hohenwald; sisters, Rebecca Barnes of Hohenwald, Reba Shelby of Clifton and Regina Hamm of Adamsville; and two grandchildren.

Wilma Rollins

LEOMA - Wilma Leigh Hagan Rollins, 88, of Leoma, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Countryside Healthcare.

Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Neal Funeral Home with Donnie Smith and John Richey officiating. Burial will be in Center Point Baptist Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Euna Belle Kincaid and Earl Hagan. She was the wife of the late John Calvin Rollins. She was a retired salesperson. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Rollins of Leoma; a daughter, Dianne Richey of Boaz, Ala.; sisters, Catherine Braswell and Odessa Barksdale, both of Lawrenceburg, Ivadean Smith and Elizabeth Smith, both of Leoma, and Earline Ables of Giles County; brothers, David Hagan of New Prospect and Donald Hagan of Leoma; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
