Herbert Andrew Osborne Sr.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bellafant Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Shawn Cook officiating. Burial will be in Rosemount Cemetery. Visitation will be at Baxter Brothers Funeral Home.

He was the son of the late Emmitt and Lou Willie Osborne. He was a truck driver for the City of Columbia Sanitation Dept. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Osborne; a brother, James "Chocolate" Osborne; and a sister, Olivia Wilson.

Survivors include a son, Herbert Osborne Jr.; daughters, Jackie Osborne and Vernita Cook; a brother, Thomas Osborne; a sister, Christine Minor; and nine grandchildren.

Annie Lee Jones

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Second Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will be in Hardison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at J.B. Mayberry & Sons Funeral Home.

She worked for Genesco and was a member of the New Hebrew Church of Christ.

Survivors include sisters, Juanita Nicholson of Lewisburg and Willie Mai Clark of Nashville; and a brother, Cecil Woods of Lewisburg.

Marveline Sullivan

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at London Funeral Home with burial in Head Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be until the funeral hour Friday at the funeral home.

She was the daughter of the late Dave and Lilie May Fitch Murphy. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She was preceded in death by one grandson.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Lee Sullivan of Belfast; sons, Ronnie Harmond of Lewisburg and Donnie Sullivan of Cornersville; daughters, Gale Johnson and Kathy Nance, both of Lewisburg; brothers, John Murphy of Murfreesboro and Billy Ray Murphy of Seagrove, N.C.; sisters, Manilla Coleman, Imogine Rodgers and Martha Gale Hill, all of Lewisburg, and Lucille Wisanante of Huntsville, Ala.; and five grandchildren.

Norma Fay Strickland McPherson

Services for Mrs. McPherson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. Gene Shelton, the Rev. Brian Wiesinger and Dennis Farrell officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The Albion, Mich., native was the daughter of the late Guy Earl and Ada Wilmarth Strickland and wife of Noble Burton McPherson of Columbia. She received her B.A. in Education from the Michigan State Normal College and was a homemaker. She was affiliated in recent years with Grace Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Douglas McPherson of Columbia; a daughter, Colleen (Dennis) Farrell of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Douglas Wayne (Sue) Farrell of Mason, Mich., Julie Kay (Todd) Ovenhouse of Howell, Mich., Christopher Levi Farrell and Jeremiah Burton Farrell both of Columbia, Elizabeth Fay Farrell (Joe) Patterson of Madison, Ala., and Rachel Elizabeth McPherson and Patrick Douglas McPherson, both of Charlotte, Mich.; three sisters, Estelle Champney of Michigan, Frances Conrad of Menomonee Falls, Wis., and Dora French of Albion, Mich., and several loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roscoe Strickland of Los Angeles,  Calif.

Pallbearers will be Douglas McPherson, Christopher Farrell, Jeremiah Farrell, Joe Patterson, Mike Helmuth and Gary Jackson.

Lem Russell

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Booker Ridge Original Church of God with the Pastor Frances Orr officiating. Burial will be in the Booker Ridge Cemetery.

Roundtree, Napier & Ogilvies Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Russell Sr. and Mary Lou Anderson Russell; a son, Lawrence Russell; brothers, Thomas, Roy, Buford, Wesley and Early Russell; and a sister, Alma C. Humphrey.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Russell of Mt. Pleasant; sons, Wayne (Jenell) Russell, Bobby (Maria) Russell, Lem Russell Jr., Dean Russell, Gary (Katrina) Russell, Steven (Alicia) Russell, Gregory Russell and Lee Aundrel Russell; daughters, Mary Ann Lockett, Mildred Jones and Vera (Reginald) Amos; brothers, James (Grace) Russell, George A. Russell and William (Pauline) Russell; 29 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jimmie Moran Knapton

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Macer and Phillip Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Franklin. Memorials may be made to the Eastside Church of Christ Building Fund or the Wednesday Bible Class, 1024 East Valley Drive, Columbia, TN 38401. A native of Williamson County, she was the daughter of the late James Walker Moran and Emma Mai Fly Moran. She was a graduate of Franklin High School in 1940 and earned her teacher's certificate at Middle Tennessee State College.

She began her teaching career at Culleoka and Mynders Schools and later taught third grade for 25 years at Riverside School and later at Hampshire School. She retired in 1982 after 39 continuous years of teaching and was a member of the Maury County Retired Teachers' Association. She was a long-time member of the Eastside Church of Christ and the Wednesday Bible Class.

Survivors include two daughters, Joann Johnson of Columbia and Mary Charles (Ricky) Harris of Spring Hill; three sisters, Mary Jo Whitefield, Margaret Kinnie and Ann Moran, all of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Terri (Pete) Aldridge of Spring Hill, James Lee (Gidget) Johnson of Lewisburg, Brandy (Benji) Robinson of Spring Hill, Phillip Johnson of Clarksville, Chad (Kari) Harris of Columbia, Mary Beth (Michael) Bridge of Columbia and Paul Wayne Johnson of Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Robinson of Spring Hill, C. J. Bridge of Columbia and Matthew Wayne Bridge of Columbia; a niece, Mary Ann Nelson of Franklin; and two nephews, Jim Kinnie and John Kinnie, both of Franklin.

Active pallbearers are James Lee Johnson, Chad Harris, Paul Wayne Johnson, Pete Aldridge, Benji Robinson, Phillip Johnson, Michael Bridge and Mickey Jacobs.

Honorary pallbearers include Maury County Retired Teachers, Elders, Deacons and Friends of Eastside Church of Christ, Ricky Harris, James Ed Pollard, Tommy Skelley, John Kinnie, Jim Kinnie, Jack Burgess, Mike Moran, Bob Jones, Jim Cook, Bill Nelson, Vinson Harris, Tony Sowell, Matt Sowell, Johnny White, Jackie White, John Moran, Ronnie Hines, Larry Duvall, Vernon Brooks, David Johnson, David Lee Johnson, Ned Pollard and the Staff of Oakes & Nichols.

Mr. John Wallace Beard

Services for Mr. Beard will be conducted at 11 a. m. Tuesday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. Bob Adair, Judge Jimmy Matthews and Donald Paul officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 4 -8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Barney and Ada F. Brady Beard. He was a former employee of the Maury County Highway Department. He was a Constable of 2nd District for 28 years and a member of the Junior Order of Police. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his three daughters, Maxine (Donald) Grooms, Patricia Bryant and Reba (Ray) Kuykendall, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Thomas Harrison Bryant, Cristy Bryant, Beth Kuykendall and Steven Kuykendall, all of Columbia; a great-grandson, Logan Bryant of Columbia; a special friend, Sylvia Elaine Pope of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald "Pop" Beard, Clyde Beard and James Beard.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Wiley, Ray Kuykendall, Steven Kuykendall, Caleb Haynes, Glenn Rose and Donald Grooms.

Honorary pallbearers will be management and employees of Wal-Mart, Donald Paul, Truman Ragsdale, Jim Bailey, Lee Bailey, Frank Walker, Judge Jimmy Matthews, Bobby Chance, members of the Maury County Sheriff's Department and all his fellow Maury County Constables.

Dolan 'Wormy' Hannah

Services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Neal Funeral Home with Charles Peters officiating.

Burial will be in Brace Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Otha Hannah and a native of Lawrence County. He was a heavy equipment operator for Wright Brothers.

Survivors include his mother, Lois Brown Hannah of Lawrenceburg; sisters, Carol Brown of Henager, Ala., Peggy Decke, of New Port, N.C., Sue Austin of Lawrenceburg and Mary Louise Keener of Leoma; and a brother, Vernon "Pete" Hannah of Ethridge.

Jesse Forsythe

Services were conducted Saturday at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Henson and the Rev. Owen Dolin officiating. Burial was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Effie Hutchinson and Coleman Forsythe. He was a retired section foreman for L&N Railroad. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Forsythe; a son, Herschel Reed Forsythe of Columbia; and a daughter, Edith Jewel.

Survivors include sons, Howard Forsythe of Florence, Ky., and Joe Forsythe of Madison, Miss.; daughters, Zada Berger of Indianapolis, Ind., and Donna Fritts of LaGrange, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Elmer Lee Brake

Services were conducted Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home with Bobby Kelley officiating. Burial was in the Nickell Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Martha Fannie Barber and John Alden Brake. He was the husband of the late Mary Wright Brake. He was a farmer. He was also preceded in death by sons, John Brake and Melvin Brake; and a sister, Lettie Potter.

Survivors include daughters, Peggy Victory of Lewisburg, Martha Potter of McEwen and Annie Shanes of Nunnelly; a son, Rickey Brake of McEwen; a brother, Billy Brake of Nashville; sisters, Etta Leathers and Brownie Dudley, both of Centerville, Lillian Baker of Nunnelly, Johnnie Adams of Mt. Pleasant, Mattie Brake of Nashville, Jessie Tate of Bold Springs and Geneva Hornburger of Waverly; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Saturday at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

The Giles County native was the daughter of the late William Henry and Albert Birl Fry Brashears. She was the wife of the late Bob McCombie. She was a retired beautician.

Survivors include sisters, Maxie Bobo and Margaret Simpkins, both of Pulaski.

Magnolia 'Maggie' Partee Bond
Monday, Feb 9, 2004

Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Missionary Baptist Church at 117 East Eighth St., Columbia.

The body will lie-in-state after 2 p.m. Monday at V.K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m.

Burial is in Rosemount Cemetery.

V. K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Estella Palmer Partee. She attended the Maury County school system, graduating from Carver-Smith High School in 1958. She also attended A & I State University which is now Tennessee State University and Columbia State Community College. She was employed by Maury Regional Hospital as a Unit Secretary. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Partee.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Ron) Gaskin of Stafford, Va.; one grandson, Jaron Gaskin; one brother, Walter (Brenda) Partee of Columbia; four sisters, Mary Webster of Columbia, Veneeda Moore of Culleoka, Janice (Thomas) Norwood of Mesquite,  Texas, and Rhonda (Tommy) Haugabook of Cedar Hill,  Texas; two aunts, Pearl Shyes and Ella Mae Mobley; one uncle, James Partee, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Roy Lee Kelley
Tuesday, Feb 10, 2004

Services for Mr. Kelley will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. Donald Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in the Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Bradley, Okla., native was the son of the late Walter and Willie Mae Ragsdale Kelley. He was the husband of Pauline Sullivan Kelley of Columbia. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Maury County Highway Department. He loved playing his guitar and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Betty (Wayne) Harvey of Columbia, Patricia (Ronnie) Craig of Culleoka, Debra Jane (Ricky) Cleveland of Williamsport and Donna (Randy) Whitley of Columbia; a sister, Eula Mangrum of Dickson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Horace Kelley, Hubert Kelley and Eulus "Bud" Kelley; four sisters, Evelyn Culberson, Adell Beard, Clara Lou Culberson and Dolly Kelley; and a grandson, David Stricklin.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Brandon Stricklin, Timmy Collins, Danny Stricklin, Len Harvey, Daniel Baker, Kevin Baker, Josh Davidson, Jonathon Davidson and Justin Whitley.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of House of Prayer Baptist Church.
