John William "Bill" Bedford, 73, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Centennial Medical Center.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mars Hill Methodist Church with Billy Beal officiating. Burial with full military honors will be follow in Mars Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Neal Funeral Home and from 2-3 p.m. Thursday at the church.
He was the son of the late Robert C. Bedford and Lou Della Martin Bedford. He served in the U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, was a retired automobile mechanic, a member of VFW Post 1618 and a member of Mars Hill Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Tingle Bedford of Lawrenceburg; daughters, Amanda Davis of Lawrenceburg and Rebecca Potts of Summertown; sons, Anthony Bedford and Roger Bedford, both of Lawrenceburg; sisters, Barbara McMasters of Five Points and Martha Odom of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Carl "Duke" Bedford, Jerry "Rody" Bedford, Larry Bedford, Terry "Donnie" Bedford and Kenneth Bedford, all of Lawrenceburg; and six grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Troy Merritt Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from noon until the services Saturday at the church. The body will lie-in-state from 2-6:30 p.m. Friday at Chavers Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
The Maury County native was the daughter of Eula Booker of Nashville and George Vestal Jr. of Mt. Pleasant. She was a 1982 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and was a sales clerk.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a precious son, Calvin D. Armstrong of Nashville; a devoted mother, Eula Booker; father, George (Judith) Vestal Jr.; a brother, Derek Armstrong of Nashville; sisters, Danita and Monica Booker of Nashville; grandfather, Thomas Armstrong of Mt. Pleasant; step-grandparents, James (Wilend) Goff of Dayton, Ohio, and Jennie Vestal of Mt. Pleasant; devoted aunts, Diane James and Bertha Whitaker, both of Columbia, and the Rev. Rose Taylor of Mt. Pleasant; devoted uncle, Royce Whitaker of Columbia; and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

She was the daughter of Ed Walker and Mildred Pharr Walker. She was a beautician for many years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Hamlett; and two brothers, Eddie Walker and Samuel Garner.
Survivors include two sons, John (Barbara) Knox of Pulaski and Eddie Knox of Columbia; two daughters, Tracy Darlene Jones of Columbia and Lisa Sharp of Nashville; a sister, Ida Ruth Timmons of Columbia; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Norris B. Cheek

Services for Mr. Cheek will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Calvin Hardison officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Cordie Lee and Bessie Alsup Cheek and was the husband of the late Margaret Galbraith Cheek who died in 2003.
He was retired owner and operator of the Market Basket in Columbia and was a former long-time resident of Tom Littlejohn Road. He served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Junior Order of Mechanics and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his children, Beryl (Todd) Turner of Hickman and Thomas (Tereasa) Cheek of Columbia; three sisters, Gladys Tindell, Mary Louise Rummage and Eunice Pullen, all of Columbia; a twin brother, Morris L. Cheek of Columbia; grandchildren, Matthew Cheek of Columbia, Kelly (Tonya) Cheek, Marty Pruitt and Candice (Lupe) Perez, all of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Paul Cheek and Brianna Perez, both of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ercel Cheek and J.V. Cheek.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Cheek, Kelly Cheek, Tommy Helton, Josh Helton, Billy Manier and Marty Pruitt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Helton, Bob Duncan, Terry Hann and Buddy Stoops.

Mr. Tim Foster

Services for Mr. Foster will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy McNeece officiating.
Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of Jimmie Gene Sr. and Joan Love Foster of Murfreesboro. He was previously married to Kim Bowen Foster of Lewisburg.
He was a former employee of American Termite Company in Murfreesboro and was a self-employed truck driver for several years.
He enjoyed building model cars and was an artist. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Richard Timothy Foster Jr. of Murfreesboro and Jimmie Gene (Amanda) Foster III and Stephen Foster, both of Lewisburg; a brother, Jimmie Gene (Sandy) Foster Jr. of Summertown; grandchildren, Alexia and Andrew of Murfreesboro and Jimmie of Lewisburg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Timothy Foster, who died in 1995.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Austin Rummage

He was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Columbia to the late Anderson and Fannie (Chumbley) Rummage. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Rummage was a member of United Methodist Church in Russellville, Ark. Also a member of NARFE, AARP, VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodges in Anchorage, Alaska, and Green Grove Lodge in Conway. He spent six years in the Navy, stationed on the U.S. Hornet until it was sunk.
He worked many years in the Masonic lodge and was Master of his lodge in Alaska. He belonged to the Scottish Rite and was Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and Amaranth. He worked for 30 years for the Civil Service and retired from Fort Richardson, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Henson) Rummage, whom he married on Aug. 9, 1946, in Oak Harbor, Wash.; a daughter, Patricia Ann James of San Mateo, Calif.; two granddaughters, Kristin Jacobs and husband, John, of Perryville, Md., Rebecca James and husband, Rick, of Cooper Landing, Ark.; four great-grandchildren, Jack and David Austin Jacobs of Maryland, and Shelbe and Jimmy Holben of Alaska; two sisters, Loubelle Rummage of Columbia and Lillian Pratt of Savannah; and a nephew, J.D. Clifton of Columbia.

Visitation will at London Funeral Home until the funeral Sunday.
Tingle was a native of Lawrence County and the son of the late William Marion and Roxie Walker Tingle. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He retired from Sovran Bank.
Survivors include his wife, Sallie Emma Collins Tingle; a daughter, Melinda T. Shaw of Decatur, Ill.; sisters, Azalee T. Bonner of Jackson and Marie T. Young and Martha T. Bedford, both of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Daniel W. Tingle of Columbia; and three grandsons.

She was the daughter of Albert Walker and the late Nellie Mae Ball Walker. She was a homemaker and a member of Harbor House. She attended Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her father, survivors include a son, Billy Clayton of Leoma; brothers, Elbert Walker of Lawrenceburg and Branson Walker of Summertown; a sister, Sarah Walker; and five grandchildren.

The Mt. Zion native was the daughter of the late James Lewis and Nola Ann Glover Mize and the wife of the late Thomas Loyd Anderson. She was a homemaker and retired receptionist and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by brothers, Herchel and Loyd Mize; and sisters, Ella Mae Bruner and Sally Ruth Mize.
Survivors include a son, James Thomas Anderson of Virginia; brothers, James E. Mize and Herbert Mize, both of Pulaski, and Berth Mize of Alabama; two granddaughters and several great-grandchildren.
