CENTERVILLE - Alda Noveline Jenkins, 78, of Centerville, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Life Care Center.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home with Bill Watts and Andrew Allen officiating.

Burial will be in the Campground Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Sindia Paarthenia Anderson and Odie Walker Sharpe.

She was the wife of Wallace Jenkins.

She was the a retired machine operator for Southern Sportswear.

Survivors in addition to her husband, include a son, Malcolm Jenkins of Centerville; daughters, Rita Morton of Primm Springs, Mitzie Tanner of Mt. Pleasant and Pamela Cummins of Centerville; a brother, Richard Sharpe of Centerville; sisters, Ruby Sharpe, Pearl Gordon, Christine Gordon and Dorothy Jenkins, all of Centerville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Earl W. Stickel

SPRING HILL - Mr. Earl W. Stickel, age 66, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia.

Mr. Stickel was born on March 28, 1938, in Pontiac, Mich., to the late Lester and Edna Stickel.

Earl served in the U.S. Air Force.

During his career, Earl worked as a data processing professional for both GM Truck and Bus, and EDS, and retired in 1996.

Earl attended New Hope Community Church in Brentwood.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Weaver Stickel of Spring Hill; sons, Mark Stickel and wife Val of Spring Hill and Jason Stickel of Spring Hill; a daughter, Dianne McGrath and husband Jim of Franklin; brothers, Karl Stickel and wife Jan of Tustin, Mich., and Dewayne Stickel of Lakeland, Fla.; grandchildren, Michela Caple, Michael Riello, Josh McGrath, Tyler Stickel and James, Steven and Priscilla McGrath; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Bare officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Rock Springs Cemetery in Rock Springs, Ga.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and one prior to service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Spring Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 5239 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

Valerie Marie Ram

Mrs. Valerie Marie Smyklo Ram, 83, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at the residence she shared with her daughter, Mrs. Candace (William) Wade, on Stoneybrook Road in Columbia

A memorial service for Mrs. Ram will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at their residence at 318 Stoneybrook Road with Gloria Watts officiating.

The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the residence.

Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of the arrangements.

The Erie, Pa., native was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Blanch Musual Smyklo.

She worked in Harrisburg, Pa., during World War II where she met Air Force Lieutenant Michael Ram, who preceded her in death.

Having moved to the Los Angeles,  Calif., area after the war, they lived in Encino,  Calif., from 1954 until 1984.

She worked in animation during the 1970s and '80s for Grant/Ray/Lawrence, dePatie-Freling and Spungbuggy animation studios.

She was a member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Denise Phillipa Gottlieb and husband Sam of Hawaii and Candace Andrea Wade and husband William of Columbia.

She was beloved "Nana" to Hillary; a sister, Eleanor "Norrie" Dowling of Hawaii; a brother, Alex Smyklo of Hawaii; three children by love, Kim Patterson Baker of Los Angeles,  Calif., Penelope Langley of Columbia, and John David Fraley of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Anne Plonski, Betty King and Sally Will; four brothers, Anthony "Monk" Smyklo, Henry "Hank" Smyklo, "Sonny" Smyklo and Edward "Teddy" Smyklo.

Memorials may be made to the Maury County Animal Shelter, 1236 Lawson White Drive, Columbia, TN 38401, or the Hospice of the Highland Rim, 2014 Elmer Pogue Drive, Columbia, TN 38401.

Thomas "Tom" Roepenack

Mr. Thomas William "Tom" Roepenack, 57, a resident of the Polk Arms Apts. in Columbia, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at his residence.

A memorial graveside service for Mr. Roepenack will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago, Ill.

Williams Funeral Home of Columbia is in charge of local arrangements.

Born in Waukegan, Ill., he was the son of Jacquline Kallal Roepenack and the late James Roepenack.

He was self employed in construction.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children, Heather Arnold, Tadd Ropenack and Tom Roepenack, Jr.; a sister, Jamie Flores; three brothers, Russ Roepenack, Tim Roepenack and Scott Roepenack.

Geneva Collier
Thursday, Sep 23, 2004

Mrs. Geneva Rodgers Collier, 77, retired employee of Bell South and resident of New Lewisburg Highway, died Tuesday, Sept, 21, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Collins officiating.

Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends from 4 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 900 West 7th St., Columbia, Tenn., 38401.

The Scott County, Kentucky native was the daughter of the late John Ellis Rodgers and Lorena Robey Rodgers.

She was a 1945 graduate of Columbia Central High School.

She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Collier was a charter member of West End Baptist Church where she was active in the choir, sang for weddings, and taught the "Gleaners" Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Leon Collier of Columbia; daughter, Candace Collier of Columbia; son, Jeffrey Leon (Melodie) Collier of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Luke Collier and Andrew Collier; two sisters, Mrs. Jewell (Kenneth) Latta and Mrs. Margaret Loftin both of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roscoe Rodgers, John "Wink" Rodgers and five sisters, Lollie Speed, Selena Truelove, Mary Cook, Mildred Erwin and Evelyn Demastus.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Bone, Bryan Bone, Tommy Cook, Mike King, Steven Latta, Luke Collier, Andrew Collier and Cliff Loftin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons at West End Baptist Church, members of Telephone Pioneers of America, members of the Gleaners Sunday School Class at West End Baptist Church, members of Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary, employees of NHC Home Health Services, Billy R. Overstreet, Raymond Sands, Jerry Price, Johnny Rodgers, Jimmy Rodgers, Rodger Demastus, Tommy Speed, R.B. Sands, Wayne Hickman, Glenn Truelove, Hodge Cook, Matthew King and Kenny Latta.

Bobby Martin

Mr. Bobby Eugene Martin, 61, retired employee of Heritage Manor and resident of Cherry Street, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy officiating.

Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends Thursday from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home.

The Lawrence County native was the son of the late Mack Martin and Mamie Pullum Martin.

He was first married to Dovie Martin who preceded him in death in March of 1991.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Faye Dale Martin of Columbia; step-daughter, Phyllis (Richard) Conner of Columbia; four brothers, Thomas (Aleightha) Martin of Centerville, Roy Martin of Franklin, O. V. (Carolyn) Martin of Pulaski, Walter (Mary) Martin of Columbia; three step-grandchildren, Michael Conner of Woodland Hills,  Calif., Jonathan Conner and Levi Conner, both of Columbia; and one step-great-granddaughter, Kylie Conner of Columbia.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
