Harold D. Rose, 68, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis. He retired after 40 years of service in the Dyersburg Water Department and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today in Sorrell's Chapel cemetery with Brother Don Williams officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Harry Robinson, 81, of Oxford, Miss., formerly of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003 at Baptist Hospital in Oxford. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fairview cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Medie Sue Taylor Jones, 82, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Halls Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens in Halls.

Melvin K. French, 75, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at Ridgely Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was a truck driver for Dyersburg Express, a member of RoEllen Baptist Church and a US Army veteran. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Rehoboth cemetery.

Melvin French of Dyersburg died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at Ridgely Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Johnson Funeral Home in Newbern.

Donna Monnell Buchanan, 57, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a former accountant and a member of East Dyersburg United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Leonard Harrison, 92, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was the retired owner of Harrison's Dry Cleaners. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Lyndel Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Paul Ward, 72, of Maury City, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a security guard for Murray Guard Services and a veteran of the Korean War. Services will be at noon today at New First Baptist Church in Maury City with the Rev. Kenwood Reed officiating. Burial will be in Hudson Grove cemetery in Friendship. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Guster D. Edwards, 81, of Tigrett, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired porter from Methodist Hospital in Dyersburg and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, where he was a deacon and treasurer. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Cosmopolitan Funeral Services with Bishop Jimmy Ennis officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter cemetery in Tigrett. Trinity Funeral Home in Paris in charge of arrangements.

Elsie Mae Rice, 84, of Union City, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Union City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Pentecostal Church in Union City with the Rev. John Stepp and the Rev. Wayne Chester officiating. Burial will be in East View cemetery in Union City. White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mattie V. Reed Nabors, 90, of Watertown, formerly of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was a teacher, artist and farmer, a graduate of Dyersburg High School, Tennessee Polytechnical Institute and Union University and attended Watertown First Baptist Church.

Mary Greer Lovelace, 89, of Newbern, formerly of Troy, died July 26, 2003 at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Union City. She was a machine operator at Trimble Manufacturing Company for 45 years and a member of Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Duke Still, 77, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was farmer, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in Steele, Mo. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery.

Virginia Evelyn Little Fowlkes, 97, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a retired employee of Dyersburg Fabrics and the oldest member of Finley Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Boston officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. The family will receive visitors at 5-8 today at the funeral home.

Sanders, a Confederate soldier with the Alabama Cavalry, was a recipient of the Real Daughters Medal from the Sons of Confederate Veterans and was a member of First Baptist Church in Ripley for more than 60 years.
