Services were today at 11 a.m. at White-Mahon Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Alfred Bell officiating. Burial was in Antioch cemetery in Hornbeak.

Mary Ruth Miller Edwards, 83, of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of Newbern, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004 at Canterbury Place in Valparaiso. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, Triple L. Club, Newbern Quiliting Club and former president of Senior Citizens Club.

Inez Cooley Jowers, 68, of Newbern, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Glendale Church of Christ. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Brother Dustin Forthum and Brother Kirk Talley officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Newbern.

Nickey James Lawson II, infant son of Nickey James and Mandi Rhea Lawson of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Wava Louise Evans, 80, of Buchanan, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. She was retired department manager for Wal-Mart in Dyersburg, a former employee of Oldburg Manufacturing in Dyersburg and a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church.

Dorothy Mae Campbell Lewis, 83, of Ridgely, formerly of Tiptonville, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was apartment manager for Sherbourne Apartments in Memphis where she lived until 2000. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tiptonville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward Endsley officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville City cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Benjamin Jarone "Benny" "B.J." Kilzer, 50, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at his residence. He was a sheet-metal mechanic. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Liberty United Methodist Church cemetery in McKenzie. The Rev. Glen Stewart will officiate.

LaVerne J. Lomax, 75, of Newbern, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at her residence. She was a homemaker and attended West Dyersburg Church of Christ and Bogota Church of Christ. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with John Huse Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

William Harry Lomax, 80, of Newbern, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired crane operator for Steel Mill and attended West Dyersburg Church of Christ and Bogota Church of Christ. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with John Huse Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

William H. 'Pete' Seat (01/12/04)
William H. "Pete" Seat, 71, of Adamsville, formerly of Newbern, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a retired truck driver. Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home in Newbern with the Rev. Bill Parks officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Newbern.

J.J. Adams Jr. (01/13/04)
Joe Lynn "J.J." Adams Jr., 31, of Hornbeak, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in an automobile accident on Mount Olive Road, west of Union City. He was employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for nine years as a tire builder and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a 1990 graduate of Obion County Central High School. He was born Jan. 20, 1972, in Dyersburg.

Anita Burrus Swindle, 83, of Tiptonville, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. She was a retired bookkeeper. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Tiptonville, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ernest Mayo and the Rev. Andy Martin officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville City cemetery.

Pearlie Watt Lynn York, 84, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was retired from Dyersburg City Schools and a member of Cottonwood Grove Baptist Church in Ridgely. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Mackie Prince officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Josie Louise Fultz, 92, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Maple Ridge Manor. She was a homemaker and a member of Rehoboth Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion cemetery in Elbridge with Brother Glen Burse officiating.

Vickie Ann "Taterchip" Davis, 40, of Obion, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Union City. She was a homemaker. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Waymon Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Salem cemetery in Mason Hall.

He was a forklift operator for Anderson-Hickey Manufacturing Co. and a Marine veteran of the  Vietnam War. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at West Tennessee Veterans cemetery in Memphis. Halls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Arthur McBride, 81, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at Ridgely Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was a retired farmer. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in New Haven cemetery with Raymond McBride officiating. The family will receive visitors at 6-8 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Dwight "David" Patrick, 47, of Horn Lake, Miss., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in DeSoto, Miss. He was on the dive team for Search and Rescue of DeSoto County and a veteran of the  Vietnam War. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hernando Funeral Home in Hernando, Miss. Burial will be in Goodrum cemetery in Eudora, Miss.

Mildred M. Osborne, 96, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at Ridgely Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was a retired employee of Sears in Detroit, Mich., and a member of First United Methodist Church in Ridgely. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Ridgely chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Emerson officiating. Burial will be in New Haven cemetery in Ridgely.

Willie Marion Riggs, 93, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Lovins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Services will take place on Monday at First Pentecostal Church in Ridgely with burial to follow in New Haven cemetery. Brother Jeremy Ballinger and Brother Jeff Gordon will officiate.

Claudia McClain Downing, 93, of Hornbeak died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. The widow of Joe D. Downing, she was a homemaker and member of Lakeview Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Tiptonville First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Tiptonville City cemetery. The Rev. Andy Martin will officiate.

Robert Q. 'Bill' Lewis (01/19/04)
Robert Q. "Bill" Lewis, 83, of Tiptonville died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at Ridgely Care and Rehabilitation Center. Lewis, who served for 14 years as mayor of Tiptonville, was a farmer, a former Lake County sheriff for three terms, spent two years as Circuit Court Clerk and was a State of Tennessee Arson Investigator. .

Edward Miller Williams (01/19/04)
Edward Miller Williams, 80, of Friendship died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a retired Tennessee Highway Patrol officer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Williams was a member and former deacon of the Friendship Baptist Church, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, a member of the VFW, a former mayor of Friendship and an aide to Congressman Ed Jones and Congressman John Tanner.

Velma Viola Wooten, 90, of Dyersburg died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a member of New Hope Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at New Hope Pentecostal Church. Burial will take place in Memorial Park cemetery of Dyersburg. Bishop James Lane and Elder Joe Hill will officiate.

Martha Christine Page, 74, of Trimble, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Union City. She was a retired librarian for Trimble City Library, a member of Trimble Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years, member of the Town and Country Literary Club of the American Legion and a member of Trimble Women's Club.

Jimmy Bates Kimbrell, 68, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Union City. He was an electrician and played country music with guitar, mandolin, banjo and steel guitar. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Wilson and the Rev. Billy Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Mary Frances Jones Togni (01/20/04)
Mary Frances Jones Togni, 82, of Shreveport, La., formerly of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at Guestcare at Springlake in Shreveport, La. She was a secretary for Dyer County Farm Bureau for 27 years, a member of First United Methodist Church since 1929, and a member of the Class of '39 Club.
