Irene Leach, 86, of Dyer, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 at Dyer Nursing Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer with Dr. Ray Carroll and the Rev. David Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Sue Little of Obion, JoAnn Morris of Dyer and Martha Jackson of Milan; four sons, Richard Leach of Country Club Hills, Ill., Barry Leach, Gary Leach and Gerald Leach, all of Dyer; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.. .

Joan LaRue Jeter, 72, of Bolivar, formerly of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was a telephone operator for South Central Bell for 15 years and with Western Mental Health Institute for 20 years, and a member of Bolivar Church of Christ.

Max Henry Ball (02/27/04)
Max Henry Ball, 71, of Brighton, formerly of Friendship, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 in Brighton. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Funeral Home. Burial will be in Friendship cemetery.

Robena Maxine Prewitt (02/27/04)
Robena Maxine Prewitt, 77, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at her residence. She was a grocery store employee. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion with Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Zion cemetery in Obion.

Oscar Warden (02/27/04)
Oscar Warden, of Newbern, died today at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. The family will receive visitors at 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home. Further funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Johnson Funeral Home.

Lester H. Blythe (03/01/04)
Lester H. Blythe, 86, of Dyersburg died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at the Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of the Tennessee Highway Department and a member of the Ridgely First United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will take place at Ridgely First United Pentecostal Church at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Ronnie Eaves officiating. Burial will follow in New Haven cemetery.

Willard D. Countess (03/01/04)
Willard D. Countess, 72, of Fayetteville, Tenn., died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004 at the Lincoln County Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born in Bogota in 1931. His parents were William H. (Bill) and Lola Bennett Countess. After growing up in Bogota, he lived and worked in Chicago, Ill., for many years where he married Virginia Thornton. They returned to Tennessee to live in his wife's hometown, Fayetteville.

Nell Hinson Edwards (03/01/04)
Nell Hinson Edwards, 80, of Dyersburg died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at Dyersburg Manor. She was a homemaker. Services will take place at 3 p.m. today at Southside Baptist Church in Dyersburg, where she had been an active member for many years. She taught Sunday School there and was director of the WMU. Burial will follow at Fairview cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Lyle Larson and the Rev. Joe Naylor will officiate.

Etta Mae Fant (03/01/04)
Services for Etta Mae Fant, 82, of Jackson will be today at 2 p.m. in Blairs Chapel C.M.E. Church in Jackson, where she was a member, with the Rev. Varnell Womack officiating. Burial will take place in the Blairs Chapel cemetery. Cosmopolitan Chapel of Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

Oscar L. Warden (03/01/04)
Oscar L. Warden, 91, of Newbern died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired industrial engineer, a member of the Forked Deer Car Club, a former member of the Newbern Lions Club, a former member of the Rotary Club in Alamogordo, N.M., past president of the Chamber of Commerce in Crain, Mo., and a former chairman of the South Central Missouri Boy Scouts Council. He was a Baptist.

Joe Leslie Wilson (03/01/04)
Joe Leslie Wilson, 69, of Newbern died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at his residence in the Millsfield Community. A retired farmer, he was born in Dyer County in 1934 to the late Georgia Quinley Wilson and the late Ben Wilson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. A widower, he was married for many years to the late Agnes Marie Wilson.

Barret Ashley (03/02/04)
Barret Ashley, 83, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was an attorney and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where he was a Sunday school teacher. He attended Dyersburg schools and graduated from Dyersburg High School in 1938. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was a pilot.

John Ray Cunningham (03/02/04)
John Ray Cunningham, 69, of Obion, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004 at his residence. He was an employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 28 years. Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Obion Church of Christ with Harrell Davidson officiating. Burial was in Mount Moriah cemetery in Obion. Cryer Funeral Home in Obion was in charge of arrangements.

Arzie D. Johnson (03/02/04)
Arzie D. Johnson, 79, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center. Services will be at 12 p.m. Thursday at People Chapel C.M.E. Church in Dyersburg, where she was a member, with the Rev. Sammie Hankins officiating. Burial will be in M.C.C.O. cemetery in Newbern.

Walter Earl Johnson, 51, of Bells, died Monday, March 1, 2004 at Haywood Park Community Hospital. He was a farmer and a truck driver and a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brownsville Funeral Home. Burial will be Holly Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

Maudie Marchbanks, 96, of Tiptonville, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Care. She was a homemaker and a member of Tiptonville Church of Christ. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tiptonville Church of Christ with Brother Don Reel officiating. Burial will be in Antioch cemetery in Hornbeak. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clyde Austin Stewart, 71, of Brownsville, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at Baptist-East Hospital in Memphis. He was a forester for Mississippi Valley District with U.S. Fish Environmental Synergy Inc., an Army veteran and a member and deacon at Brownsville Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion with the Rev. Clayton Mahan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah cemetery in Obion.

Irvin Leon Tillman, 95, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Oakwood Manor in Dyersburg. She was a retired agent with Illinois Central Railroad, a member of First Baptist Church for 50 years plus, a member of Hess Masonic Lodge #93, member of Easter Star and a retired red coat volunteer with Methodist Hospital.

Mattie Kate Huckaba, of Richmond, Ind., formerly of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at her residence. She was a realtor. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Doan and Mills Funeral Home in Richmond, Ind. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Dyersburg.

Joe Eddie Seibert, 63, of Nashville, formerly of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center. He was a retired teacher from Metro School System in Nashville and a member and deacon of Temple Baptist Church in Nashville. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church.

Natasha Renee Stoner, 24, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a domestic worker. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Dyersburg with Elder John Manns officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell cemetery in Dyersburg. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ola Mae Barham (03/08/04)
Ola Mae Barham, 87, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 at Wesley at Dyersburg. She was the retired owner of Barham's Barbeque and a member of the Three Oaks Baptist Church. Funeral services will take place at Dyersburg Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Monday with burial to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Lee Hatch Jr. (03/08/04)
Lee Hatch Jr., 69, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 at his residence. He was a retired brick contractor, minister and an outdoorsman. Funeral services will take place at Dyersburg Funeral Home at 5 p.m. Monday with burial to follow in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Mary Curtis Reed Moore (03/08/04)
Mary Curtis Reed Moore, 82, of Dyersburg died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at her home. She was a homemaker and the widow of Dr. Olyn Fred Moore Jr. She was born in Ripley in 1921 and was a descendent of the first and second settlers of Lauderdale County. She graduated from Ripley High School and attended Gulf Park College, graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1943. She was president of her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, and vice president of the Panhellenic Conference.
