Patricia Lucille Gibbs
Church of Christ member

Patricia Lucille "Patty" Gibbs, 45, of Clinton, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge after a long battle with cancer. She would have been 46 years old today, Jan. 18.

She was born Jan. 18, 1956, in Concord, N.C.

She attended Clinton High School and had been a homemaker most of her adult life. Mrs. Gibbs worked for a time at Baskin Robbins in Oak Ridge as a cake decorator when her mother, Daphna "Granny" McAmis, was the manager. Her family said she loved young people and had the opportunity to get to know many while employed there.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 27 years, William H. "Bill" Gibbs; two daughters and their husbands, Mary Jane and Travis Hensley of Murfreesboro and Amy and Tommy Lane of Clinton; two brothers and their wives, Jack and Carol McAmis and Joe and Dawn McAmis, all of Clinton; and one sister, Mary Bunch of Oliver Springs.

Mrs. Gibbs is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, Toby Bunch, Melissa McAmis Birdwell, Malea McAmis and Sean McAmis, all of Clinton, Adam Bunch of Knoxville, Andrew Bunch of Oliver Springs, Allison McAmis Roper of Clarksville, Joe D. McAmis of Dallas,  Texas, and Clay McAmis of Cookeville; and her aunt, Lillian Smith of Athens, Tenn.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Martin Pyle, minister of Highland View Church of Christ in Oak Ridge, will officiate.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Violet Louise Turner
Clinton resident

Violet Louise Turner, 91, of Clinton, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at Lake City Health Care Center in Lake City.

Mrs. Turner is survived by two sons, Roy Turner and his wife Aileen, and Carl E. Turner and his wife Mary, all of Clinton; four daughters, Catherine Barker, Faye Kesterson and Wilma Jarnigan and her husband Thomas, all of Clinton and Barbara Taylor and her husband Philip, of Powell; one brother, Jack Davis of Chattanooga; and 17 grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the chapel of Anderson County Funeral Home in Clinton.

Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Claxton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.

George 'Frog' Tucker
Tour bus driver

George "Frog" Tucker, 66, of Lake City, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at LaFollette Medical Center of a heart attack.

Mr. Tucker worked as a tour bus driver.

He was born in Anderson County on Feb. 22, 1932, the son of Ace and Ruth Tucker, who are deceased.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his son, Christopher R. Tucker of Lake City; his grandson, Preston Ross Tucker of Norris; two sisters, Emma Sue Summerfield and Mildred Spears and her husband, Gilbert, all of Lake City; five brothers, Lloyd Tucker and his wife, Aline, of Powell, Cotton Tucker and Bob Tucker and his wife, Boots, all of Lake City, Jimmy Tucker and his wife, Jan, of Dublin,  Calif., and Harold Tucker and his wife, Gail, of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews.

His wife, Nancy H. Tucker, and his brother, Paul Edward Tucker, died earlier.

The funeral was held Sunday night, Jan. 17, at First Baptist Church of Lake City with the Rev. Brian Courtney officiating.

A graveside service was to be held at 11 this morning, Jan. 18, at Highland Memorial Gardens in Knoxville.

Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City handled arrangements.

Bill Logsdon
Former Oak Ridge resident

Bill Logsdon, 82, of Mount Vernon, Ky., died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Logsdon was a former resident of Oak Ridge. He was a retired pipefitter for the Atomic Energy Commission, a Department of Energy predecessor agency.

He was born in Rockcastle County, Ky., the son of George and Della Rose Hayes Logsdon. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Mr. Logsdon is survived by his wife, Gypsy Woods Logsdon; two sons, Charles Logsdon of Morehead, Ky., and Fred Logsdon and his wife, Thelma, of Lake City; his daughter, Rose Powley and her husband, Star, of Mansfield, Ohio; his sister, Nellie B. Lovins of Blanchester, Ohio; and by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the chapel of Dowell & Martin Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with the Rev. Lester Caldwell and the Rev. Gary Bolin officiating. Burial will follow at the Logsdon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 7 tonight, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.

Calvin Coolidge Patterson
Lake City resident

Calvin Coolidge Patterson, 72, of Lake City, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mr. Patterson was the son of Clark and Lonnie Patterson, who are deceased. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Elzie Patterson; three daughters, Sue Bunch and her husband, Robert, of Sunbright, Anne Ruiz and her husband, Mike, of Clinton, and Jackie Kern and her husband, David, of Orwell, Ohio; and four sons, Terry Patterson and his wife, Jutta, of England, Ted Patterson and his wife, Rosie, of Clinton, Taffie Patterson and his wife, Sandy, of Lakewood, Ohio, and George Patterson and his wife, Sally, of Cleveland, Ohio.

Mr. Patterson is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Bill Patterson, Sammy Patterson, Cynthia Lowe, Jessie White and Charlie White; and 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

His son, Calvin Kent Patterson, died earlier.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday January 19th, in the chapel of Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. Matthew Harness officiating.

Burial was to follow at Galbraith Cemetery in the Marlow community.

Receiving friends 7-9 p.m. tonight, January 18th, at the funeral home.

Billie Crabtree Wilson
Lake City resident

Billie Crabtree Wilson, 80, of Lake City, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Lake City Health Care Center.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by the niece she raised, Sandra Wilson of Lake City; two sisters, Johnnie Crabtree of Ohio and Edith White of LaFollette; and her brother, David Crabtree of Ohio.

The funeral was held Sunday, Jan. 17, at Clinch River Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.

Burial followed at Clinch River Cemetery.

Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City handled arrangements.
